thats nice... so you actually see people in the low/mid lvls?

i might try it again maybe...

i bought the game the 20th of january, subscribed 1 month (besides the "free" one when buying the game) and cancelled the subscription... i didnt get to max lvl with my healer jedi before getting bored of running alone chatting with the guild...

No, reducing all the players to 8 servers, and then F2P (in which teh servers will be running at less than maximum power to save money) can cause some stuttering. Not nec. more players.

Since SW:TOR requires a lot of power to run the world, the power reduction they probably had to make to make F2P viable, hurt the game's smoothness.

wrong..
they actually did the exact opposite..
created new more powerful servers that could handle much bigger populations at one time.
and if you are having any performance issues it is on you your PC or internet.
as the servers are icy smooth.
I've put in over 200 hours since FTP and it has been much better all the way around.
working on 50s 5 and 6 and 7 now

Just resub'd last night [for some reason I only sub'd for a month back in September vs the monthly sub] - the new space missions are tremendously challenging [and impossible unless you have level 7 equipment].

Not impossible- Demon's Souls NG+ hard, but doable. Sucks that once you get them all done the missions are only weekly though, 2 BH +40 fleet comms makes that a bit worse actually.

BTW- I still haven't gotten all my 7 upgrades and the new space missions are already face roll(armor and warfare pod I still need).

I resubbed for downtime when FFXIV got blown up, TFB is a decent op, some cool mechanics in there so still a bit of the faceroll thing going on once you learn the mechanics. NiM Denova seems quite a bit more challenging then TFB Hard atm, maybe it's just me being rusty in EC. I really enjoy the new space missions, too bad they made it so I only have a reason to do them once a week

BTW- I'm seeing ~750-1K players on the fleet during peak times(spread over 3-4 instances) and I'm not seeing the performance issues others are discussing?

I don't agree. Jedi Convenent doesn't run right much of the time. I know it is easy to say 'I run it fine, therefore you suck and are a moron' type mentallity, but that is anecdotal at best at makes you look foolish for having such a position.

Jedi Cov has performance issues. It isn't all the time. An example would be doing Project Sav-Rak in LI-HM. When he switches phases, it isn't uncommon for the game to 'pause' for .5 seconds, or even a full second a times. As mentioned before, you know it isn't on the client side because you are already running VOIP apps that don't have any issues while the game pauses, and of course, 'EVERYONE' in your group experiences the issue.

And I doubt you run ops, as you are constantly leveling characters. So perhaps the game plays fine when running around mind numbing easy mode leveling.

I am guessing it is a server issue. What server are you on? Jedi Cov has had problems ever since F2P (actually, before, just not as bad). Although the last 2 weeks I rarely play anymore, so it is possible 1.6 has improved some things. But there was a 2 month stint where we couldn't get an op down without 2-3 stutters on an op. Additionally, some of the ops were worse than others. HM-EC was pretty bad at times during the trash, LI-HM was 'HORRIBLE' everytime we ran it. Try using the ops dummy on the ship? Not usable for a real parse.

In fact, right before F2P launched, I bought the ship dummy so that it was lag free. Guess what? It was only lag free until F2P launched. Now even my ship dummy experiences lag during a standard parse. It isn't all the time, but before it was butter smooth, now the GCD's aren't even right anymore as you tryt and fire a cast while the system thinkgs the GCD wasn't finished. Difficult to explain, but anyone who parses on the dummy's knows what I am talking about.

I sustain 1800 (1806 over 6 minutes) DPS on my sentinel and 1700 (1717 over 14 minutes) on my Commando. That would not be possible on the fleet's dummy. Probably would do at least 100 dps less in lag and cancelled casts as a result.

um you can do both already.

I actually googled the shit out of that question after I posted it and the consensus is no, you can't. You can't paint your ship you can't park your ship you can't do anything that I would equate to "traditional player housing".

The ship as it stands right now is a glorified inn/locker.

I managed to complete 3 of the new space missions with my ship in flames at the end. However, there are a few missions I can't complete yet - mission with the bombers [too many of them during the last phase], the escort mission, and the mine field mission. As with other missions - pretty sure it boils down to managing shields, firing off EMP, and what I like to call "nuclear shield killer burst weapon"

Took a stroll down Section X last night - /agree with others complaints on the forums about how the drop rate sucks and it's just not worth doing dailies.

I haven't noticed any performance issues either...

Way to assume, asshole. every char I have is fully decked out in Rakata In fact half my comps have rakata and BH.

I raid every week several times as we go on multiple chars.
raiding in TOR is freaking easy mode. takes maybe 1.5 hours to clear anything even on NM.
That is a bug with that encounter not the entire server.

I am on JC..
and like I said I'm on there at least 8 hours a day.
there is nothing wrong with JC.

Um and why on earth would you want to paint a ship or park it anywhere other than a starport? are you trying to bring back the nightmare that was galaxies with stuff every 2 feet on the ground where you cannot even move.

you can decorate it with many items off the Cartel and you can invite anyone you want on board.
that is player HOUSING as it is YOUR house.

It is funny you should say that (the name calling) as I look through most of your posts in this thread and I find the tone, rather... well, exactly as you have described me.

I highly doubt you have cleared EC-NIM, care to post some proof? It isn't that it can't be done, it is just that very few have done it thus far. So a Kephas screenshot downed while demonstrated difficulty level of the ops should be sufficient to satisfy me.

I readily accept I am an Ahole.. I don't hide that fact as I tell people how I see it in real life just as bad as I dish it here..
I refuse to mince words and talk behind someones back when I can tell them how I feel about them.

EC? really? please we cleared that back in 1.3 easily. next time we go I'll take shots.. I said I am no stranger to raiding and that we clear what we do on HM/NM
But don't count on it any time soon unless they give us something worth going for.
BH coms and near worthless mods and stuff whats the point and Campaign gear... pfft. all that was easy to get to L61 based gear without even going in there.

we need another full tier of gear to make raiding worth anything at all.

You have the new tier, it is called Dreadguard. That is what you work towards and I'd expect you to be decked out in it if you are bored of TFB-HM and EC-NiM. Mind providing a screenshot of said gear on your character? That would put all this stuff to rest and I'd have nothing more to say. Shut me up, so that I don't think you are an average forum troll who says they beat all the content while they were sleeping with one arm tied behind their back. Because, from your posts, I have seen some extreme hyperbole and you are going to have to back that up.

Now, if you want to admit you were using hyperbole, I'll call off the challenge. Until one of those two things happen, I'll just consider what you say with a grain of salt.

I tried to play it a couple times but it's just so boring. I love Star Wars video games enough that I will probably give it a 3rd shot.

Thats exactly how I feel. Curious to see the improvements and if they are enough to keep it me sucked in.

I keep wanting to get back into it--logged in after the F2P and cartel updates. saw that they "generously gifted me" a pile of tokens to buy back half the stuff that I already had access to, after paying $100 for the game--my 3rd character, utility slots, crafting abilities, gear, etc....

I can understand limiting access to content that I have not unlocked that is now paid, or locking out of FP and Ops and all that, or severely limiting it from a F2P player at that point, but to make me buy back (even through free tokens) the regular game mechanics that I already paid for--and what I paid in cash to play was already 3x and more what anyone starting today would have to pay to access, well...fuck those assholes.

shame, I still think it's a fun game and thought the leveling PvE/story aspects fo the game were quite solid.

Eh..I resub'd a few months ago - can't really think of anything else that can provide me with the same amount of entertainment for ~$15 a month. Plus it's a great way to interact with numerous friends I've made over the years playing other MMO's [granted..quite a few went back to that Panda Wow game].

Cartel coins can be used for lots of other things. Equipment and packs. If you don't need any equipment and you don't need to unlock anything like in the legacy or abilities or unlock additional slots for items in inventory or extra banks of items in storage - you can buy the cartel packs and sell them after 24 hours on the GTN. It takes 24 hours for them to unbind, but then you can sell them for $300k

So basically you get 300,000 credits for 360 cartel points. Or so.

And if you chance it and open the packs, you can sell some items you get in them for even more

Oh nice, you can buy cartel coins for credits now? Sweet, I might pick some up for a few unlocks.

No I didn't say that. You can buy things with cartel coins that you can sell for credits. zinfamous was saying he had all these coins and they were only good for unlocking stuff which isn't true
