If only the actual storyline had the same type of feels Blur puts in their trailers.....

agreed, somewhat; I guess I'm more critical of the overall gameplay than the storyline. The movies for that game have been some of the best I've ever seen--I still prefer last year's Eternal Knights or whatever to this new one, but both are great--but that gameplay ends up just being awful.

I actually didn't finish that one (let my sub run out with maybe 3 or 4 chapters unreleased), but I think that storyline was rather top-notch--if you run through it quickly. That, and the main story is pretty badass (Assuming you pick a fun class). But the gameplay...ugh, the gameplay. And now it is so broken that it's basically a solo game with other players running around jacking your farm nodes. Not that I don't like solo games even in MMORPG world, but really does lessen the experience when your companions are instantly and probably forever more powerful than your own character.

I was playing it again for ~3 or so months at the beginning of this year after a 3? year hiatus. Thought maybe it would be fun again.

....not really. But there are still things that I like about it. It's the type of thing that I would still recommend to people if they haven't tried it and want to casual their way through the storyline and actually enjoy that type of MMO skill-based mechanic. Sith Inquisitor and Evil Jedi is still tons of fun.

Oh completely agree with you about the gameplay. Once they tried to turn this into a single player online game they trivialized the difficulty you could win 98% of the encounters afking with a healing companion. The other 2% of time they gave you I win buttons.

I still didn't like the story, despite that being the original draw of the game for me. The whole KotFE felt like it was what a bad fanfiction writer would think is a good idea. Oh no another evil Empire comes out of no where. They are better at everything than the Republic and Sith. Better ships, better soldiers, better Force Users. To beat them they railroaded all the classes into being able to feel the Force and then basically threw out Star Wars lore by saying you must transcend Jedi or Sith teachings, without actually giving two thoughts to it. Then you spend the rest of time making light or dark decisions that don't really change anything just like before.
