Update?

Only needed to download and install a bit over 27gb. I did manage to get it to play last night, but not quite sure what I can say about it right now.

I still can't get the new build to run, I've installed it and reinstalled it but while the old one loaded just fine this one just sits at the loading splash screen forever. When I start to juggle it around with CtrlAltDel I can see that a second process (the game?) is starting to load but always crashes before I got anywhere. I think once it gave me a message complaining about my resolution or something and it tried to load in like the left 2/3 of my screen at some lower res before crashing

Even though it says "Not Responding" in the task manager, I had to let it run 5-10 minutes the first time for it to boot up. After that it was fine.

Try just letting it run.

He was joking ,they monitor your IP address anyway so would know...as an ex-beta tester myself you have not missed much in ToR,besides its sad seeing your characters wiped at end of beta testing,much better to go in fresh at official launch with less bugs and improved gameplay (with luck)...

Got a potential fix for you.

go in and find the 'client default's' ini file and set that to your desktops native resolution. After that start it up and just let it sit, if you see the blue windows circle pointer just leave it don't click anything! After about 2-5 minutes it should load, and after that it will load much quicker. If not then might be driver related.

I would also like to point out that republic is not as good as wow for 3 reasons:
1.) I can't figure out how to grind
2.) I don't know how to troll n00bz
3.) where's the player housing?

It bored me out of it.

Right now, I wouldnt recommend the game to people. Even Kotor fans. I played through most of the first Kotor and I think it was a deeper game then Swtor in beta form. Swtor seems so small and empty, and thats in regards to the content. More PVP options maybe would have kept my interest. I found their battlegrounds boring as hell. Theyre so small and simple, nothing interesting.

I guess Ill just keep playing League of Legends until BF3 comes out.

Bioware gave me 30 days worth of beta testing which has now finished,glad in a way since I got sick of filling in the ToR survey questionnaire form every day (30 times worth) which was one of the conditions for my beta testing,also if you made 2 characters then its twice a day filling it in if you played both on same day, I had 4 different classes.

I'm taking a small gaming break,getting ready for Deus Ex :Human Revolution next week .

Definitely keep it man. There have been plenty of people that have enjoyed the beta so far. The final product is going to be awesome.

The only way to judge a game is to play it yourself,personally it was ok but was a bit boring sometimes since it fell short of my expectations,its not the best MMORPG I've played,however it always hard to judge a game in beta with limited number of online players etc...

Problem with ToR is its on such a high pedestal that some players will be disappointed.

End of the day judge it for yourself on official release.

I think it's the combination of high hopes and super hype that a lot of people are going to be very disappointed.

That's because many games these days have been pretty big disappointments. Not sure if you've been following games but the majority have been flops instead of successes, or not up to what most people expect. Same thing with movies. Gamers are now jaded for a reason, they are use to disappointments and they have reason to do so.

And this isn't just PC games, all games in general.

So I accidentally got the standard edition on origin, on my main account. I had it cancelled a day later and asked if I could re pre order digital deluxe, they said go ahead.

I do, no worky. I tried 3 different cc's, cancelled instantly. I ask why, one guy says they're sold out, another says you need to wait 3 days. So I want 3 days, try again with a new cc, fails again. I call in, and I basically have to create a new account with EA, and then order it, it worked.

What a PITA, I also cannot even move it off my new account to my original one. I am starting to hate origin. Anyone else cancel with origin, and try to re pre order?
