so then whats the issue?

If you knew what to expect what exactly are you wanting out of it then?

from every person I know that has played it that loves KOTOR and ME has loved the beta and cannot get enough..
it's the MMO (WoW mainly) people that are saying it needs work..

The beta leaks all look incredible watched over 6 hours of leaks this week alone.

I loved KOTOR and ME, and I have not played the Beta of TOR, so I will not directly dispute your comment.

However, despite how "story based" the game is, and how much content it has, I just cannot see an MMO giving the same single player experience as KOTOR or ME. I want to play alone, for however long I want at a time, and have a story that has a definite conclusion: you can actually "beat" the game. I dont want to have to team up with other people, do raids, and invest endless hours into the game. So I am extremely disappointed that they made an MMO instead of or in place of KOTOR 3. Personally, I believe they went the MMO direction because they thought they could make a lot more money that way.

Perhaps if there is a free trial period I would give the game a chance, but I cannot see myself purchasing it without such a trial.

You do not have to do team quests, but they do give you a good bit of experience, points, and sometimes loot. There is always the choice of completing the story line solo.

I've never been much for mmo's, but I quite like the social aspect brought into this game. Makes it feel more like an actual universe set in this era.

Grouping was bit of a pain in ToR beta when I was playing, max size was like 4 for most of the group quests so you had to drop your companion and also wait and find other players to arrive which could take hours before you had your team ready, being in a guild would solve this issue, also when ToR goes live you should have plenty of players wanting to group.

Bad points were some group quests you can only do once,so if you are a healer for example wanting to help noobs or just help players complete a group quest you are out of luck.

I would like to see group size increased(far too small for MMORPG IMHO) and restrictions lifted.
You are paying a monthly sub so these restrictions are well out of order IMHO.

Pvp is fun if your the right class, and hutball is awesome.

New wave of invites should be coming out soon.

Has there been any development on PvP? Do they have a pvp server for beta testing or is there only one server?

The server we are all on is a PVP server. They tried to test the warzones the other day and it crashed everyone out instantly who queued. :awe:

That's awesome. I was afraid that they'd take the easy path to beta testing by having all PvE servers and no PvP in beta, and when release comes just say "ah, we'll do PvP servers this way, this looks like it works, right?"

Nah, testing seems to be pretty thorough. Generally every week there is something to test or give feedback on. Then every so often they schedule a night where they test specific things. Although they've been having server troubles for around 2 days now so not really able to test, and with all my current work about to be wiped early next week not really feeling as enthusiastic.

I thought hutball was extremely boring.

The map is basically a box that has some metal platforms in it that you can get on by walking up ramps, other then that it would be, well, just a box. Theres an item, the ball, in the middle of the map you click on which gives you the ball, then all you do is walk to the side of the map where the enemy team spawned and thats it.

Im sorry but that is just weak. Hopefully they will add some interesting battlegrounds in the future. But that compared to Alterec Valley in WoW is a joke.

Nope your wrong, and Im not talking about the weekend either. Probably shouldnt say more. There is a reason why there is no beta weekend

Why not? Seems the NDA doesn't apply to users here and on other forums. /shakes head

we talking about new AV or the old AV

old AV was epic.

new av is nothing but a zerg to the finish

Well I stopped playing WoW after Burning Crusade so who knows what theyve done to it since then. But it was still fun last time I played. But old AV was the shiz. My hate for PVEers probably started with the changes to AV. Ive always suspected their bitching is what lead to it being changed. They just played it to grind for gear where PVPers played it for fun.

Old AV was awesome because it was a server only fight, could take days or weeks to get to the warmasters and kill them, usually requiring the gods. After BC it turned into cross server bs and zerging the end with 40 people going each way, usually never seeing each other. Once in awhile you would get a few people trying to play a little defense, and the occasional turtle at the bridge. Boy those were fun days shooting shadowbolts 1 shooting everything but tanks. Then they fixed or changed something, I dont remember what but it turned into a zerg and thats more or less how its been for the last 3 years.
