I knew that a large element of MMO's was "grouping up" and there would be some things I couldn't do without it, that I just wouldn't do. I am not a social gamer, gaming to me is a solitary hobby.
I was expecting to just go through the game myself for the story aspect. I'm a star wars fan, and a huge fan of KOTOR, so I wanted to like this game. I am not an MMO fan, but thought if there was enough story and single player elements that I could enjoy it for a few months at least. I wasn't expecting to need other peoples help just to figure out how to play the damn thing or figure out what my character was doing half the time.
I'm over it. I guess I was foolish to think that any MMO would be for me, I knew I wouldn't like the MMO aspect, but I thought there was more to this one and it wasn't like the others. I didn't like it, no big deal. At least all the opening FMV's were fun to watch.
Ok,,
A) If you played a couple hours and only finished the first mission, then damn you were doing something wrong.
B)It tells you exactly what to do, there is a damn marker for EVERYTHING on the map. Opening your mission log explains exactly what phase of the quest you are in
C)Yes, you can play it alone without needing to 'group' up. You will be a tad underleveled in the top planets, but it is possible. No you don't have to join a damn guild, ask for a group in general chat. Form that, play the mission, leave group. While I never cared for this before, I've done this for all the group quests and most of the people are quite friendly and helpful, plus you get an assload of XP for doing those missions, and decent loot.
D)There is a tutorial, perhaps it was not in your build. For mine there is one that tells you everything from how to move, to how to accept and complete quests.
E)I dunno how you 'couldnt figure out what your character was doing', unless you are playing blind or something. You move, select target, hit appropriate 'skill' on your launch bar on the bottom, repeat as necessary.

For one asking about SSD. I have played it on both. Yes an SSD does improve the load times a bit, this is a large game after all, it also helps a tad when starting conversations (bit more instant) with NPC however that is also server response time restricted. I personally did not feel it was worth it to take up over 20gb on my SSD, some may feel otherwise. Once you are on your planet the differences are much less noticeable.

Sunnyd - theres a new policy on Origin recently that makes some residents in certain states pay sales tax, it's pretty BS but whatever.
