I'm not vouching for the article's accuracy, there's no way I could either vouch for or refute it. But based on my personal opinion of EA I can't pretend to be surprised if it's true.

Also, I wasn't questioning it's lifespan, I was just being a bit paranoid because I WOULD like to play another class storyline or two, even if that's 2 years from now.

We cleared EV last night in under an hour and decided to give our old nemesis BT a try in Karagga's Palace.

On our first try 6 people wiped leaving myself (Sorc Heals) and Tankassin to take him down the final 100K. Had both cats CCd before the other healer went down, so that helped us out. I would throw down my AoE heal and just DPS BT down as the tank started to get not one, but both cats eventually as well as BT himself.

But the fact that we got BT down with our group is nothing short of remarkable. He has been a thorn in our side for the past month. It was hard to believe we could breeze through EV and get wiped on BT. But at least now we've got him down. Looking for a full clear tonight of KP for the first time.

I will say that all the Sorcs here shouldn't worry too much about raid healing. I just had to keep track of my Force a bit more, and I hardly had to use Consumption during the EV fights last night.

Now PvP Sorc Healers is a different story. I won't be seeing PvP on my Sorc until we get some sort of balance to it. Seeing as how I didn't really PvP with him once I got my Tier1 PvP gear to enter into Raiding I'm not going to miss it.

I think all 27 people in the fleet are standing together. I'm not sure why I'm partaking, but I have 15 DNA samples so far.

Probably from selling the DNA samples. They're not BOP and are in demand right now. I wanted to get the black/green +41 power color crystal so didn't sell mine. May try to get another 83 to get another one...either +crit or +expertise. Quickest way to get these is to hang out by the "event vendor" on Tat in the Dune Sea and flag yourself for pvp. There are pubs and imps hanging out there to exchange killing each other when you get "feverish." Every time you 'splode, you get 5 DNA samples...and you can do this about every 10 minutes. Already got my mini Rakghoul pet and 2 pieces of orange gear from the dailies as well. Based on the first two days, there should be a new quest every day to complete the set.

so how long does it last? I can't really get there yet (level 18 sin) and i've just been selling them in fleet. I think the prices were steep last night under assumption that the event would end with the update?

I made tons of money from selling ~60 of them, but I'd like to keep some if I can get gear.

you are pretty close level wise to being able to go to tattooine where the vendor and dailies and stuff are. the dailies scale in level, as far as i can tell. There was a group of us that were lvl 50 that did them and the elites summoned by a few steps were lvl 50. but there was a lvl 27 doing them as well, and he spawned an elite and was able to kill it easily by himself.

They haven't stated how long this event will last but judging by the first two days and the new piece of orange gear each day, should be at least another four days. You don't need the DNA samples to get the gear. Those come from completing the dailies. Here's a nice guide. The samples can only be redeemed from the vendor in the Dune Sea on Tat. +41 color crystals(power, crit, endurance, expertise), Rakghoul pet(other one comes from the long quest line), random companion customization chest can be bought from this vendor.

add: There are also 3 new world bosses on Tat associated with this event. Doing all quests and downing all 3 bosses will give you 9 new codex entries with the 9th being a new title.

• There are three world "boss" mobs of various difficulty associated with this event. Killing each will award an associated Codex entry; all three are required to earn the "Containment Officer" title
• There are no associated quests for killing the event bosses
• Note: the Codex entry for Urtagh was bugged for some players and not awarded. This was patched on 4/17/12, but you'll have to kill him again
• Urtagh - A level 50 infected Bantha located in Outlaws Den (at approximate coordinates -54, -1005), in the Jundland subzone, Outlaw's Den: 10-20 players recommended

nope. the orange containment officer gear is a mission reward choice.

so, the random companion customization is lame. i got 3 boxes so far, three pube companion customizations. i'll just send those right over to the imaginary pube toons i have tied to my legacy account. :'(

so i decided to get the containment officer set. i was originally taking the samples as the mission reward so i could get boxes. but since i keep getting screwed on the companion stuff i'm going to stop trying to get those stupid boxes. and i dont care so much about the green-black crystals. (although if i was a light saber class, i would want one of the green-blacks) imma just get the outfit and try to get some credits for the rest of the samples i get.
