Not a bad movie. Not a great movie.

George Lucas still can't write dialog for sh*t.

But props to my employer... we rented out a 9:30 AM showing.

Just got back from seeing it. Pretty good. IMO all of the Star Wars movies suffered from cheezy dialogue and lousy acting but the ony thing I found really painful out of all 6 of the movies was Jar-Jar. That character just made my brain want to implode. General Grievous, on the other hand, was pretty badass.

Edit: The only thing I didn't like in the movie was the way Anakin turned to the dark side. It just didn't mesh too well. One moment he's the good guy getting all moral on Windu, the next he's bowing to Sidious and calling him master.

Just got back, and holy crap, star wars didn't suck! I (snob among snobs) was impressed.

It was alright. It wasn't excellent nor was it bad. Some of the parts were kind of cheesy though like in the first of the movie when part of Obi Wan's wing fell off yet he was still flying perfectly normal.

same here, except mine did every showing today. i saw the movie this morning, went to lunch, then came into work.

Probably from the Expanded Universe (books, comics, etc)

Yes it does. If you read the books, it matters, but only with Sith because Sith create their saber jewels in a kiln with the force, concentrating their hatred and anger resulting in a red saber.

Question: Were the Stormtroopers in the original trilogy clone troopers as well? I'm just trying to figure out what happened in the time between EpIII and Eps IV, V, and IV that made them go from badass to comically bad.

I was wondering that too, after the movie I told my girlfriend I guess Mace was a better fighter than Yoda since he was going to pwn Palpetine.

Ofcourse it could also be that he was allowing himself to be defeated because if he didnt appear weak then Anakin wouldnt have helped him.

Oh yeah Grevious in Clone Wars > Grevious in Episode III.

In clone wars he was chopping up lots of people, it sucks that in Episode III he was only in one fight and didnt even kill anyone.

That's one of the things I don't like about the prequels. Without looking at some of the outside-the-movie media, alot of stuff gets lost. The movies do nothing to bolster the claim of Anakin as a hero of the Republic or the Chosen one. Nor does it do much to make Grevious and Dooku to be major villains.

I saw it at midnight as well, and I thought it was awesome. Yeah, you can nitpick about some hammy dialogue here and there, but I thought the acting was a huge step up from the previous two episodes (and I actually liked the first two). There were some truly emotional moments in this one that had me in tears (shut up!).

I'm just going by the Knights of the Old Republic games. the class that you chose in the game determines your initial lightsaber color and it holds true for just about all of the NPC jedi that you come across in the game.

Just got back from seeing it, you can't beat having the theatre practically to yourself and only paying $6 :thumbsup:.

Definatly the best movie of the prequels. All of that action we've been waiting for finally comes to fruition. But the ending really felt rushed. And suprisingly there were few moments of boring dialouge.... simply because there was so little dialouge... looks like Lucas learned a little

Some of the editing felt really rough considering the money spent on the film. Did Spielberg really direct parts of the film? If so I'd like to know what scenes.

Now for my all important, life affirming rating.... I give it a solid B overall. Special effects and action wise an A.

I also cracked up at the Darth Vader "Noooooooo" part :laugh:

All good ... but the theatre still erupted in laughter during the Padme/Anakin scenes. "I'm so in love with you..." blah.

Went to see it last night.

Theatre had projector problems so the show was cancelled.

Almost was a riot (you white boyz can get really angry?)

Three cop cars showed up as I was leaving.

one thing that bothers me... why did they seperate the twins?

if anything, wouldn't keeping them together have thrown Vader off the track if he tried to find them? he'd only be looking for a single child, not twins.
