You know, when she comes down the ramp out of the the ship to meet evil Ani, I thought she just had the short skirt thing on, I only saw she had pants on after she was lying on the ground.

So was she wearing pants and is it a continuity fault or is my brain messing with me?

It was a skirt with cream colored leggings.

I thought it was a great movie, but it did feel a bit rushed. I think EP II could have started some of the relationship between Anakin and Darth Sidious, and would have been a great tease for this movie. Then they could have spent a bit more time showing Anakin's descent. But overall, I really enjoyed this one much better than the EP I and II.

Yes it does. If you read the books, it matters, but only with Sith because Sith create their saber jewels in a kiln with the force, concentrating their hatred and anger resulting in a red saber.

Nope, and I have read all the books (post ANH). Luke built Leia a red one in the NJO series.

OK, now my question is why is Leia's last name Organa, but Luke's last name stays Skywalker? Shouldn't his last name be Lars?

There is so much left between 3 and 4 that I think there's enough to make an episode 3.5

-more about Boba fett

Because that's how the original starwars starts. Lucas didn't bother coming up with a convincing reason.

Besides - if they want to hide the kids from darth vader, giving one of them to vader's brother shows a level of cunning rarely seen outside of roadrunner cartoons.

Well, Timothy Zahn wrote that Owen Lars was actually OB1's brother. Lars always resented his brother because he was "special" and taken from that hell hole by the Jedi. Then after the Jedi went to crap he hated them even more. So, him being as arse to Luke made more sense.

Saw it yesterday and it exceded my expectations 10 fold. The lack of Jar-Jar and the insane Yoda's lightsaber fights was great on their own levels. 9.5/10 stars.

Just saw it, too. WTF is that scene with Padme combing her hair? And cheesy lines like, "Noooooooooooooooooo!" Other than bits like these it was a really good movie.

That's exactly what I believe happened regarding Leia's memory of her mother. She never knew of Padme... in fact, I don't think she ever knew that she was adopted. Luke knew his parents were dead, but his aunt/uncle gave him a made-up history about that.

I believe that this helps to answer the question as to why Leia's last name was changed. I'm pretty sure that she was never told of her past because she was a member of a royal family. Within royalty, you usually keep the last name to define who you are.

I think that the blurb about training with Qui-Gon was to show how he learned to live even through death. In fact they even specifically mentioned that Qui-gon had learned to do this, and that's what he was supposed to teach Obi-Wan. Remember when Obi-Wan willingly let himself die to Darth Vader in Ep. 4, so he could become more powerful and live forever through the force? I think this is exactly what he learned from Qui-Gon's "spirit".

3. I knew that Mace Windu would almost defeat Palpatine before Anakin comes along to the rescue. BTW, it was hinted in EP II that Mace was the most powerful Jedi (warrior) in the console and Yoda the wisest (and the most powerful with the Force).

Mace Windu would have been very quickly killed off if Palpatine wasn't playing around waiting for Anakin- two different points during the battle Palpatine had Windu dead and simply chuckled waiting for him to regain his composure(just got back from a second viewing and paid close attention to this battle). At one point Windu's arms were above his head and Palpatine had his lightsaber directly in front of Windu's chest and nigh giggled waiting for Windu.

Ankins fight scene w/count dorku was stupid. count dorku vs anakin and obi wan. 2 on 1 and dorku was throwing them around and in control of the battle. but in a 1 to 1 fight between anakin and dorku, anakin wins easily?! WTF?!

the emporer vs the 4 jedi council members. 2 of them just stand there as the emperor kills them. the 3rd one gets killed pretty easily. WTF?! these are senior jedi, yet 3 of them get killed like they held a light saber for the 1st time. God... horrible.

And anakins turning to the dark side... laughable. it was suppose to be a slow moral corruption through the years and not like this. jeez.

padme's death.. "She's healthly so i dont know why she's dying" says the doctor. "Maybe she doesnt have the will to live." WTF is this crap?!

And Jar Jar lives! sigh...

Someone should have slapped some sense into Lucas when he laid out his blueprint for Episodes 1-3.

at the end of the movie, yoda tell obi wan that his master Qui-Gon Jinn (from Episode 1) learned to defeat death. WTF is that about?!

Also, they started building the death star at the end of the movie. It took them ~25 years to finish it?! HUH??? And in those 25 years, noone noticed them building something the size of a small moon?!

Whay did anikin kill all the kids? It didn't really make any sense to me why they put that in the movie. I got really annoyed with the computer animation, it was realistic sure, but still obviously fake and it made the clone troopers look so bad, especially when they had their helmet off.

It is impossible to defend against 4 light sabers if you only have one. think about it.

Anakin was portrayed as a fvcking moron. from the beginning of the movie, *chop* goes Dooku's melon and Anakin's like "hmm maybe that was a bad thing to do". wtf.

that lava mining facility would never have passed an OSHA inspection.

how do the clones tell each other apart? do they ever get together and say "ha ha let's switch... I'll be the general today"

Obi Wan is pretty dedicated and should receive a "jedi lifetime service" award for volunteering to wither away on Tatooine for 50 years. actually on 2nd thought it was only like 18 years, man that desert sure ages a guy fast.

Lucas should stop making CG animals that people ride on, it has always looked fake as hell.

I wanted to see Chewie get enslaved.

I agree on the clone troopers. Why couldn't they just create the same type of outfits that the original Storm Troopers wore and then just digitally map the faces to the blue or green screen heads? Instead, they did the opposite of that.

In fairness you could suggest that Palpatine was helping dooku up until the point that obi-wan got knocked out so he could tempt anakin into killing dooku.

This actually annoyed me far more from the point of view that the emperor was supposed to be a subtle genius spending years working through manipulating his enemies into doing what he wants, and at this point in the movie he suddenly converts into a cavorting giggling Eeeevil guy. Windu's accusation was obviously laughable, the emperor could have happily gone with him and the senate would have unanimously charged Windu with treason. Hell, just go with the security footage from his quarters - he is standing there minding his own business when Yoda charges in and without a word kills his guards and then attacks him with a lightsaber.

Those are all fairly reasonable other than the last one - space is a big place, someone finding it would be more implausible than someone not finding it.

It's a possibility that the "images" she remembers are of Padme dying?? Leia, afterall, is force-sensitive. Maybe Luke didn't have the ability to recall extrememly early thoughts/images.

Who knows?

I assumed Leia was never told she was adopted, and the mother who died was her adoptive mother.

Best scene - when Yoda walked into the Emperor's chamber and the guards tried to stop him

I thought that was to explain how Luke had visions of Obiwan, Yoda and Anakin after they died.

I was very disappointed in the end.

Padme was not supposed to die during this movie. This is contrary to Eposide 6.

George Lucas can't keep his story straight. Big let down.

I saw it this afternoon so I'll chime in as well.

I really enjoyed it. There are definatly some hokey parts in it, but ffs its Star Wars!

The movies does a great job of making you feel Anakin's pain and suffering, all for the love of his wife and child(ren). Classic good vs. evil conflict. He does seem to go to the dark side a bit easily though. When Palpitine tells him to kill Dooku in the evil emperor voice he does it too willingly like he is already under his control.

The dialog has never been that great in any of the movies, but its not a major concern. Story is everything.

If Qui-Gon learns to go beyond death shouldnt we see him at the end of episode 6 or anywhere else? If he weren't a prequel character tieing up the scenario at the end of ep6 that is. Also, how does Vader know how to do this?

At the end Obi Wan gives Luke to his Uncle and Aunt correct? I dont remember seeing Anakins brother in ep 1 or 2. Maybe I just forgot.

The other Jedi's did get taken out too easily. AFAIK no Jedi was ever hit by a laser when weilding a light saber, the one with sheer volume is understandable but, common. They cant sense those things either? Yoda seemed to do fine. Maybe because hes the big cheese or because clones are harder to sense.

How much further do the books take the story in terms of timeline and plot? Are they all written by the same person? Any good?

Anyways, I have always loved Star Wars and this movie is no exception. The good versus evil struggle we all face. Striving to be better. To be a hero. To be good. And lightsabers. Those IMHO made the movies.

Well I gotta get up in 5 hours. Im sorry for my poor spelling. Star Wars FOREVER!!!

WTF was that "I have the high ground" thing by ObiWan at the end? Jedi can force jump like five stories into the air, why did Anakin just do a hop and get annihilated in the air?
