In 2 years Lucas plans to release TV show, which is between the time frame of Episode 3 and Episode IV.

1 year to write a script and the 2nd year to do the filiming. He will then pass on the series to someone else.

From what I read by a poster at a SW forum.

your username is jedi and you don't know about the tv show?
lucas is going to do a tv show starting in 2006..he will write and direct the first season, then turn it over to various directors for the rest of the seasons...2 rumored directors are Kevin Smith, Robert Rodrigeuz ...but,amy allen, the girl who played the blue jedi Aayla Secura said her character didn't die off and would be back for the tv show.

Wtf is with "I have the high ground" at the end? Can't Jedi force jump like 100 feet into the air? Anakin should have been able to just rocket over Obiwan to even higher ground. How lame.

Remember when Obi-Wan willingly let himself die to Darth Vader in Ep. 4, so he could become more powerful and live forever through the force? I think this is exactly what he learned from Qui-Gon's "spirit".

For me, that part seemed forced in there to make the future movies seem to fit in. I don't think it was very necessary.

My Thoughts: (POSSIBLE SPOILERS though if you have not yet seen it, you should be shot)
LMAO @ r2d2. R2D2 just pawned in this movie and I always love to make up dialogue from what he beeps.
Yoda killing Papatine's guards was hillarious.
I don't understand why they never noticed a dark force around Palpatine, whey they can sense Dooku and later Mace says that he senses something dark about Palpatine.
I expected to hear Vader Arise, when the EP 4-6 Vader was created and not at some lame melodramatic scene.
Overall, I like the movie.

Well, ugg.

First of all, it seems nowadays big-budget movies are all about stunning the senses...numbing them, moving that line one step away constantly. This applied mightily to this movie. 'Bombastic'.

Also... (spoiler alert)

Just a few lines of sweet-talk from that horrible old man and he becomes a child-slaughterer? Forgets his friends, his order..and in the beginning - all this primarily (one could probably say only) to save Padmé from death.
We know the horrible old man goes oon and oooon about 'Only way to save Padmé', 'Only way to save Padmé', 'Only way to save Padmé', 'It is the only way to save Padmé' and Anakin: 'I can't live without you Padmé'..and then: 'It seems you killed her'..she is dead, dead because she cannot live without her Anakin presumably, and yet the asthmatic freak goes on? In the name of all ewoks, why? He just heard that the only reason why he became a Sith is now dead because of him? (I don't count the 'Let's rule the universe!!' insane-talk at the end, that is just too unbelievable.) The one he could not live without?

..And what's up with those names? : / General Grievous, Darth Plagueis? Yet..there is at least one such name I am missing..hmm. Well.

Anikin is so emo.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! <-----laughed out loud (you know they'll have that fixed on the DVD)

I heard rumors about how bad the acting was, I didn't think it would be that bad, but IT WAS. Some of the dialogue is just garbage.

Episode I you could tell they worked hard trying to make a good movie, but Ep III, it's like "Ok, let's get this over with."

Meh, still pretty good. I liked it overall.

Not exaclty, later books explain that they cannot stick around forever, even as spirits, but I don't exactly care for the books. If we were going to see him we should have at least seen him at the end of Ep3 in that last secret meeting. I did watch Ep2 recently and the program I used to watch it identified the speaker of alien languages and unseen speakers. In the scene where Anakin is killing the Tuskan Raiders, we see a shot of Yoda meditating and we hear him listening to a voice saying "Anakin, NO!!!" and the program revealed that voice to be that of Qui-Gon's! Would have been helpful if Qui-Gon acted as a guardian spirit like Obi-Wan did for Luke...

At the end Obi Wan gives Luke to his Uncle and Aunt correct? I dont remember seeing Anakins brother in ep 1 or 2. Maybe I just forgot.
They're in Ep2

The other Jedi's did get taken out too easily. AFAIK no Jedi was ever hit by a laser when weilding a light saber, the one with sheer volume is understandable but, common. They cant sense those things either? Yoda seemed to do fine. Maybe because hes the big cheese or because clones are harder to sense.
Not all Jedi are extremely powerful, some can only sense the force enough to give them a slight advantage over non force users, and sometimes only in certain areas such as flying or fighting or even medical.

How much further do the books take the story in terms of timeline and plot? Are they all written by the same person? Any good?
There's stuff from really far into the past, but most of the books are about the future, venturing a couple of decades in. No they're not all by the same person and most of them aren't that good (at least not IMO). Some are worth it but everyone seems to have a different view of the force and what not, so you see characters doing things (or not doing them) that don't make sense to you and it just doesn't feel right and thus isn't fun.

So, judging by the movie, was Anakin conceived by Palpatine's master?
I also recall reading somewhere that Leia was born first.
WTF was that "I have the high ground" thing by ObiWan at the end? Jedi can force jump like five stories into the air, why did Anakin just do a hop and get annihilated in the air?

When do we ever see them jump that high in the movies? Games and comics/cartoons don't exactly count. Why does he even try to jump OVER ObiWan? He could have just hopped off and charged forward.

There is no reasonable explanation, the whole scene at the end of that fight was just a lazy attempt to explain how Anakin became the Vader we know. We'd been told it was from defeat by ObiWan and Anakin getting his disfiguring injuries from the volcano. But since when do you leave someone you love to die by burning alive, one of the most horrific and painful ways to die? NOW that is complete BS, you have mercy and finish him off, or at least try to save him from death - and more importantly - the darkside.

Is it just me or did they play the ET theme music when Yoda got in the ship to take off from the Wookie planet. The whole scene was remenicient of ET to me.

Well, it was the best of the 3. Unfortunately, it was just OK. Well, 2007 will be hte 30th aniversary so expect a big 6 DVD box set....will Lucas go high def?

I'm at hte point that I simply want episodes 4,5,6 in their unmodified state. Not THX, no picture enhancement, no new scenes. This series has gone no where but down hill since 1983.

And unfortunately, with the success of these 3, expect 7,8,9 to be announced in short order.

I would see it in theaters by the way.

SPOILER:
And was that a person in the opening fight sequence? One of the ships blew up and I could have sworn a person ended up "floating in space".

You also never noticed that he had skin around his eyes and real eye balls. And prtobably his brain. I think it was forshadowing to what was goignto happen to Vadar.

You get a lot of mixed reviews about star wars, but this movie was AWESOME!!

I do agree that some of the dialogue was really stupid; between Anakin and Padme primarily.

However while i knew the last movie would be really dark and violent is much more violent than i expected. Without giving away the movie, when the Jedi are starting to die, you then see Yoda sort of stumble; i was like "That isn't cool".

Additionally without revealing anything, the last fight scene, Battle Of The Heros, has to be THE BEST fight scene i have ever seen. The new song that plays in the background of the fighting brings it all together.

Highly Recommend seeing this movie.

Yeah, it's in the trailer as well. All the pilots were clones so no real loss of life.

Alot of the questions asked are answered in the books.

Mace Windu and Yoda cannot really be compared combat wise. Mace, invented his own lightsaber technique in which he all of his anger and hatred are channeled towards fighting. Its really kind of confusing. Palpatine wasn't necessarily toying with him, it was more "im going to get the sh!t knocked out of me to complete Anakins dark journey".

As for why Anakin beat Dooku alone in the book dooku is thinking as he fights; He says something to the effect of surely you can do better, you are pathetic; and Obi Wan and Anakin say sure we can. And all hell breaks loose then. He then describes Kenobi as steadily getting weaker due to exhaustion (understandable), but he then says, the boy is getting stronger. He seems to have endless amount of energy. So at first Anakin and Kenobi were toying with him, then they kicked it up to high gear.

As for the battle between Mace and sidious with the other Jedi. Sidious supposedly was a blur and cut down the first two Jedi in a matter of minutes of talking. The other Jedi, (Green one, with tentacles and what not) hold Sidious off for a while before he is simply overwhelmed. Then Mace steps in and enters his battle stance.

The reason they couldn't see Sidious in the force is also described by Dooku. Sidious was not merely the dark side, he is a described as a black hole. Yoda is juxtaposed by being compared to a pillar of light.

Yoda and Sidious are completely equal in knowledge and swordsmanship. However Yoda somehow reaches the conclusion that he was never supposed to beat Sidious. SO he really didn't fail, just didn't feel like dying, and knew that there was something else intended for him to do.

No matter though, Yoda is still the ultimate bada$$ of All time.

You read the book, how about this one. According to the book, the only reason Obi-Wan is alive is because the thing he was riding when order 66 was issued sensed something was wrong and flipped him. So Obi-Wan's creature was more in tune with the force than him? I found that confusing. In the movie the clones just sort of missed and Obi-Wan fell in the hole. Yoda totally saw it coming.

Well for some reason Obi Wan and Boga (the Creature) were essentially made for each other. The worked together extremely well. You are correct. However i would venture to believe that Obi could sense through the force that something was coming, but ya know there is only so much he can do. He has this giant turbolaser blast coming at him. Boga simply felt it coming i guess and flipped and took the entire shot.

Yoda only saw it coming through the force. Aside from the fact that he probably knows everything going on in the universe, he felt hundred of his close friends (Jedi) dying around the galaxy. Remember seeing him stumble with the sad look on his face. He knew that eventually something was going to happen.

The first question you ask leads me to another question. How big of a blast can a lightsaber deflect. It would seem that if it could deflect everything (including turbo laser) then just stick a whole mess of jedi all over the hull of the ship and have them deflect everything back.

I thought it was good, better than I and II. Like has been said before, Vader doing the 'NOOOOO' thing and the dialogue between Padme and Anakin were painful. Something else to throw in this mix-> I thought it was pretty dumb when Mace Windu had Palpatine cornered, and he started changing into Sidious, and did that 'OHHH! OHHHH! OHHHH!' thing.

Regarding leaving Luke with step brother... it was mentioned in a later book that Luke suspected Obi-Wan left Luke 'in the open' for Vader to find as bait. Obi-Wan was the last fighting jedi and the only one that could have possibly finished Vader off should he show up.

I *was* spoiler free until Episode III. I did not read any material after Episode II came out, I dodged theforce.net and starwars.com for 3 years, did not watch the clone wars cartoon, and refused to read hints at what was coming out. Being surprised during this movie was a great contrast to knowing everything about I and II before it came out.

*** spoilers!

I loved the movie as a whole but there were several big items that will keep this one in third place for me (behind ESB and ANH). Lucas still added scenes that only appeal to kids, all of the R2 vs battle droid crap, what the heck, it is just an astromech droid blast it! The horrid lines the battle droids did have, they were made to be completely moronic, I want those in my army of doom! The lack of good chemistry between the actors, no good lines like in ESB and ANH. Dooku dying in the beginning, I feel it would have been much more fitting for Dooku to live to the end and Anakin having to defeat Dooku to become Palpatine's apprentice. Somewhere this movie takes place over 9 months, but we can not tell when real time has transpired.

I annoyed my friends at the theator when I was showing my pleasure of seeing Jedis die, the birth of an Empire, and Padme's death (I dispise her acting). I admit I would be an evil Jedi, why can't others!?

OMG I totally agree!

And when Ferocitus had Dominicus and Atraie up in the ship Wangdylion and they like totally escaped from Ghain II after they found out Jeyriah was the daughter of Chesshan and not Ployietian!

I also can't believe when the Paletorians invaded Retchizniar with only two Hedriders and half a Bukakedropper!

Sometimes... I feel so left out for not knowing what all the hype around Star Wars is for...
