Yes, overwhelmingly yes.

Well, he certainly taught me something new about Stem Cells... Apparently, they can only be taken from aborted fetuses. Here I thought they could be taken from cord blood. Stupid me. yay Bush!

I didn't like his stance on stems cells in 2002 but favor free market without federal intervention.

Seems like from the brief touch on it he had there was bi-partisian support. Can't really call it. There were SO many points that it would take a full reading of the address to really soak it all in.

A big ole cup of *YAWN*. Pretty much just SSDD in that speech.

I think my favorite part was where he pretended he's concerned about deficit spending.

Blech.

I used SageTV to build up a buffer to watch this and skip through the constant applause - it shortened it considerably.
Anyone have an applause count yet?

300 million to help kids get out of troubled public schools, so they can go to other schools.
Thats great !
Move a few students out of failing public schools and screw over the rest of the students that are stuck there .

yeah, smart move.
What was that about the math scores being the best they have been ?

YES!!!!!!

I like how the left side of the room was silent after that.

Should speak volumes right there.

Hillary is being a complete bitch. Obama's body language is very guarded. Very smart for him, but still guarded.

thats because she is pissed that the whole Kennedy clan came out and supported Obama today.

If you can't see the difference, then really....you shouldn't vote.

If you don't want to get involved and pay attention then that's fine. Just don't vote.

*BARF*

At the democratic eco-nazi response. Give me liberty.

Democrat response "We need change! We don't really know what that is! But let's change!"

Spidey07, even you have to admit that Bush cited unreachable goals when you look at his track record. Pretty much everything he touches backfires in his face.

Wow wow triple wow. A whole 2600 children in the entire USA should not be denied a faith based education. At least they won't be left behind in no child left behind.

But my favorite was the line---if some future President is more responsible than I was, there might be a hope of balancing the Budget by 2012. Lots of luck on that one, because the cost of servicing the 3.2 trillion GWB alone added deficit at 5% interest is another 160 billion per year.

As the republirats stood at every applause point while the dems sat down in stunned disbelief. The only thing missing were the hip boot as the bullshit filled the room.

I eagerly await the next State of then union speech given by a democratic President with the predictable our eight year national nightmare is finally over.

Obama sat next to Ted Kennedy. All of a sudden Mr. Change is all chummy with the guy who represents old-school politics maybe more than anyone else in that room.

Too funny. We had a balanced budget before he took office.

dude, pay attention, look for your reps and see how they respond.

It's the freaking State of the Union, it's pretty freaking important.

Indeed. Important enough to toss around the word owned when trying to discuss it intelligently.

What a joke that speech was, does anyone believe ANYTHING he says anymore? How many years has he been talking about how much success we are having in Iraq, isn't it about time we see some real results and bring the troops home?

Yeah that was sickening to me.
I will not be voting for obama.
Anyone that chummy with the drunk driving killer loses my vote.
A plus for obama, associating with teddy is proof he's white house material.

There comes a point when your opponent is giving off such clues, be it in a meeting, be it negotiations, be it in representing entire house, the word owned is perfect in this context. You know when you have them. You know when you own them face to face. That's all I'm saying and if you can't interpret that language...owned.

Nothing Bush was talking about tonight or ever for that matter has ever owned anyone but his retarded supporters. Congratulations.

I won't back track on who said it first but ---It's the freaking State of the Union, it's pretty freaking important.

Other than the fact that its the constitutional duty of every President to give an annual State of the union, what prey tell is so important about an excursion into bullshit land?

Like anyone really expected that GWB would tell the truth and confess that he is a total idiot.
