I'm surprised people still watch this show after the ending to heroes vs villains, that was a joke. I bet their ratings have dropped considerably since last season anyways. That last season (heroes vs villains... i think that was the one before the current) itself was so good, everything that Survivor should be. In the end, the jilted jury just voted for who they hated they least instead of who played the game best. That exposed a big flaw in the game of survivor IMO. Most of the challenges ended up being just a waste of time. I'm sure it wasn't the first time a bitter jury turned the final vote into a popularity contest.
I'm not really sure what they can do about it though. Can't really let America have a vote in the final tribal council because there is so much that gets edited out during 35 days on an island or whatever it is, and the producers are the ones choose who they want to make into heroes and villains...though for some players it's just obvious which side they're on.
I just wish the people on the jury wouldn't get so pissed/bitter about being voted out each season and vote for people who deserve to win instead of who they hate the least. It can't be helped I guess.
ummm, as jeff said on the finale last year, if you want to play the game you are looking for, well it's not Survivor. it's another game.
and hate to break it to you, but if Russel had played the best last year, he would have won the million dollars. he played the same exact way 2 seasons in a row, made it to the final, and had absolutely no supporters in either season. that right there shows you he obviously did not play the game the best. he was one of the tools that people want to bring to the end because no one would get his votes.
as you even stated, the show is edited to about 11 hours from 39 days, im sure tons of other stuff goes on that we don't see.
russel's social game is one of the worst in the history of survivor, and that is why he got no support. the social aspect of survivor is just as big, and probably bigger, than the physical and mental aspect of the game.
Yes get rid of jane, but get rid of her next council. She has minimal chance at an idol victory and looking to get into a final four situation, no one would want her lasting anymore. However by taking her one more you can go for a knockout of someone who will be much more difficult to organize a vote for and someone who is likely to get votes at final final, someone like holly.

Except for ghetto girl, fabio never really clashed with anyone and had several decent to close friends with whom he had no part in voting out.
Holly has appeared friendly enough to all, even those seeking assistance as they were about to be voted off, to take the classic under the radar position; right up till she took part in the great jane coup.
Sash has mild conflict with several jurors as not helping when their neck was before the noose as the in public view leader of the alliance backing their removal. And as holder of a shared idol, he has one hell of a burnt bridge with brendumb.
Chase, he spent much time at a crossroads of alliances and one side of that connection is all sitting the bleachers. Possibly a somewhat mild disposition until the public persecution before council as he played bruto at janes downfall.
Dan, he's only been around so long as no one has seen him as a threat, and short of ghetto girl somehow managing to make it to the final pairing with him there really isn't any other member hated enough to shift a prejudicial vote to him.

Flying under the radar gets you a million dollars, especially if you're going up against someone that the jury despises. Remember, Natalie won against Russell. I don't think anyone can dispute Russell was better when it came to the manipulation part of the game, but he was also ruthless which costs him votes. I assume Russell knows that you're supposed to take people that won't get more votes than you, but the other one or two people in the final also know that, which is why they kept Russell around. That part he doesn't get. I would think that if there was any chance of Russell winning, he'd be voted out. Russell is also a poor winner and loser. Just look at when was in the final three with Natalie and Mick. The morning after voting out the final jury member, he was acting like the money was his already. Yup. Russel should have won both his seasons. Unfortunately it is a popularity contest and he is openly an ass. Sandra winning was such a waste.
This season I have to root for Holly since she is from my state. Once she goes, I could really care less who wins. Chase I guess? Maybe Fabio, but then he balled like a little baby over not seeing his mom, so maybe he should get tossed. Who else is there... Sash? What a douche. Dan? What a joke...
Not sure I'm interested in any more seasons unless they fix the formatting a little.
