Worth keeping in mind that the Dem brain trust texting anonymously to reporters that Biden is cooked also thought Hillary trounced Trump in the debates.

Also worth keeping in mind the immediate aftermath of the Fetterman-Oz debate where some of those same people were convinced we were trying to elect a very large vegetable.

yep just treat the event as a scene from a brilliantly directed, acted and scripted political satire.
because that's what it must look like to the citizens of other countries.
We're here to entertain them and perhaps frighten them a little bit too.
besides Cheeto-brain could do something to tank his campaign as well. Voting night is still months away.
or maybe WW3 can happed and voting night in the U.S. of A. won't matter so much anyways.

also this is near perfect song to go along with that.

I know that's true. I'm just talking about the media infrastructure in general. It's built entirely around a "both sides" horse race, constantly ignoring the elephant in the room
Republicans fall in line, Democrats don't. If Trump took a shit in the middle of the stage within 24 hours all right wingers would be defending it. That just doesn't happen with the left to any where near the same degree. I listen to even PSA episode, if the were just the left version of Fox I'd never listen to it. They do constantly point out the issues with Republicans as well. In this episode specifically they have talked a lot about how bad Trump did, if only we had someone that could've give a B+ performance.

Granted, I still haven't watched the debate itself or any cuts of it, but here is Biden at a watch party afterward (supposedly). He seems fine (albeit old) to me.

He's an old man no doubt, but I suspect the debate format probably hurt Biden more than it helped him. Instead of making Trump's rambling the focus of the debate, allowing Trump's mic to be cut made Biden's oldness more of a focus.

I wonder who asked for the Mic cutting, Biden's camp or Trump's camp?

Trump really did have a bad performance too.

Trump: "So, I want absolutely immaculate clean water and I want absolutely clean air, and we had it. We had H2O. We had the best numbers ever. And we did – we were using all forms of energy, all forms, everything. And yet, during my four years, I had the best environmental numbers ever. And my top environmental people gave me that statistic just before I walked on the stage, actually."

Maybe the best thing that could happen here is Trump goes "Wow, people really love me" and he starts showing up everywhere saying this stuff over and over straight into cameras.

Look if the Dem party electors really don’t want Biden as the nominee then at the convention the only thing that makes sense is for them to nominate the one Democratic candidate that all the Dems can agree on.

That's because the republicans are a far right wing party while the democrats are not at all a left wing party, they're center right. Can't expect the left to fall in line to a party way right of their beliefs.

- That's the current conspiracy I'm reading: The reason for this early debate, all the left wing media meltdowns, etc is to prime the pump for a party "coup" at the convention.

Dems will more readily accept a "coronation" when they see their guy is struggling and the entire media narrative shifts overnight to "he needs to step down".

That is certainly a take. Definitely not going to happen, ever. Obama doesn't wantbto be president, and replacing a candidate selected in a primary, using a system of unelected party delegates to select someone else will go over like a lead balloon.

Ok, I’m fine with keeping Biden then.👍🏽

"It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood,A beautiful day for a neighbor, Would you be mine?"

What a beautiful day today, with an added bonus of 3 delicious United States Supreme Court decisions to go with the most excellent debate.

I believe mic cutting was in the rules so the candidates wouldn't talk over each other like other debates.

And we haven’t had a court case to determine whether he’s electable under the constitution. Without it how can we know if he’s served two terms yet. Even then I have ‘major questions’ whether limiting to two terms is constitutional based on what ‘I Know ‘ about the founding fathers.
It isn't tough, read it for yourself.

Honestly probably the most interest part of this thread to me...and I know this will be a shocker...is Greenman. Everyone else is freaking out (understandably so) and he's like "trump looked like trump again and Biden did ok for an old man".

Edit: And while the trump faithful will love it, I have to wonder if the more "moderate" voters will be turned off by trump being hinself

From some of what I've seen bleed through on Twitter, some people are like "my normie parents/friends, Biden seemed old but truthful and okay, but Trump was a raging, lying lunatic"
