I have had some time to think about it.

Trump hurt himself. He showed everyone he is still Trump. Still the angry old man that did January 6th with no regrets. That this is his vengeance tour. That all the chaos of his last presidency was on display. No changes, no regrets.

In 2016 Trump promised a better future even if it was an obvious, to me anyway, lie. 2024 is sheer open personal retribution and nothing else.

I didn’t get to watch any of the debate and haven’t seen the highlights but the consensus seems to be that Biden didn’t look good but Trump didn’t help himself either.

At this point I’d say that if there is a voter who is truly undecided they are probably retarded or of the low IQ type.

The choices for this election appear to be between an old honest man vs a crazy serial liar.

Not great choices but between the two, it’s not a hard choice to make either.

Fuck the DNC for not propping up a different candidate and/or making Kamala more appealing rather than having her hidden away.

And fuck them for not refusing this debate. They could have said "we do not debate dim witted felons who have consistently lied anytime they have gotten in front of a microphone." Or something similar.

The road to avoid gacism just got a lot harder for the country because of one very avoidable event. I will need to invest in some Depends.

Worth keeping in mind that the Dem brain trust texting anonymously to reporters that Biden is cooked also thought Hillary trounced Trump in the debates.

Also worth keeping in mind the immediate aftermath of the Fetterman-Oz debate where some of those same people were convinced we were trying to elect a very large vegetable.

I think the dems who so vociferously pushed against any idea that there should have been a primary and we could have had a better candidate for this election are fucking in a sort of a cult. Such as @fskimospy in general, and a couple others posting in this thread. DON'T YOU DARE SAY THAT WE HAD ANY BETTER OPTIONS IN OUR ENTIRE DEMOCRATIC PARTY IN A COUNTRY OF 360 MILLION PEOPLE, THAT IS JUST SILLY TALK.

you people are fucking insane.

Who would you suggest as a Dem candidate who might stand a chance of beating Trump?

anyway, Newsom anyone?

or maybe Schiff?

Trump hurt himself, and well the convention is coming up. Who could put some energy into the Dem base?

Just my opinion, but I’m willing to bet part of the plan was to make him looking like the bumbling fool that he is, so that he is in fact replaced before the convention.

Gonna make a bold prediction here and say that Michelle Obama will replace him. I don’t know of any other democrat with name recognition, with political experience that can beat him.

The suggestions that Newsom could step in is laughable. The conservatives will just blanket the country with homelessness ads and he’ll be finished.

That is certainly a take. Definitely not going to happen, ever. Obama doesn't wantbto be president, and replacing a candidate selected in a primary, using a system of unelected party delegates to select someone else will go over like a lead balloon.

Not sure why homelessness’s would make him unelectable, isn’t the scotus poised to rule homelessness a crime?

America isn't ready to vote a gay man in.
I think he could pull it off actually. He's young, sharp as hell, knows how to play the talking points game (he wrecks Fox news every time he's on) and has administrative experience at this point. He's also served in the military unlike cadet bone spurs.

Evangelicals won't vote for him because he's gay, sure, but they weren't going to anyway. I think the "average" American wouldn't give a shit, especially when they see him against Trump

At this point he'd carry the 'plucky young outsider' energy that Obama did, as an average aged white dude. Sad state of affairs.

Are you serious?

CNN, MSNBC aren't even spinning. Did you see the sheer panic of the CNN 10-person panel where they all professed how historically terrible it was and how their dem politicians and leaders have been texting them about how much of a panic they're all in.

They're throwing the words 'change the ticket' now. And this is from CNN.
The news and pundit industries thrive on close races. Keep that in mind when evaluating their hot takes.

This is 2024. Cable news farming outrage is nothing new.

But it is a disaster. Let's be honest about that.

I'm wondering if I watched the wrong debate. All I saw was two angry old men yelling at each other. Joe actually seemed to be semi lucid. Trump was Trump, all attack, all the time.
Did you watch the first half hour? Cuz I did and it was a complete shit show. Trump was trump, as you said, but Biden looked and sounded absolutely terrible. Compare it to his SOTU address, night and day.

Lol it’s not even to SOTU. The clips after the debate, totally different Biden. It was more like you’re not allowed to drink water because you have to hold it in for 90 minutes.

So what was the excuse two minutes in? Because he looked like shit from the outset.
