Bull. Best I ever managed with normal use was ~20 hours, and on 3G. Even in areas with strong 4G, it'd still be under 10hrs using it. But, I dumped it before the latest radios were available . . .MR4?

I get a good 36 hours or so, charge it roughly every other night

but I have the verizaon extended battery

on the most up to date verizon build.

mostly 4g at home except when it flakes, and at work its all 3g due to a repeater in the building

but I dont use it heavy as I sit in front of a computer all day and since I am the internet czar I have no filters

I guess I'll be that "other" voice and say that even though I've been eligible for upgrade for almost a month now, I've made almost no plans to replace my T-bolt.

With Liquid Smooth 3.2 and overclocked to 1.4Ghz, I get a full day of moderate use, its fast enough to do everything I want, it feels so solid and good in the hands.

For the first time in my life I'm not really interested in upgrading it. That won't say I won't. I'll likely give the T-Bolt to the SO. (She's on a Virgin Mobile Triumph right now). But in all honesty the phone has been fantastic to me. If I were looking for a cheap 4G phone off contract, I wouldn't hesitate in the slightest to pick up a Craigslist Thunderbolt. The price in the used market compared to what you get is incredible IMO.

Stab yourself in the eye with a sharp salad fork, then realize you'd be doing that by attempting to use a ThunderBolt.

The problem is that the TB is essentially a 4G LTE modem slapped onto a phone. If you want that, it's great, leave it plugged in and I hope you're in an area with a good LTE signal, frankly, it kicks ass for just that, except you cant even use the kickstand when you have it plugged in because for sme dumb ass reason, the put the plug on the side that should sit flat on the table when you use the kickstand.

Too many minuses to use as a primary phone though.

I could deal with the crap battery life with the massive extended battery because of the speeds, but what killed it for me was the radios (it has 2 radios) would hand off from 3G to 4G when you went into an area with poor reception, or handing off from 3G to 4G.

Some had good luck with turning the radios off and on, I didn;t and frequently had to do a hot reset to get any signal.

Dunno what's so bad about the X, but IMHO, it's a better phone than the TB.

I would still rather the tbolt than the X. What killed the tbolt wasn't 2 radios. Its that HTC did not have the firmware right when it came out. The rezound has the same two radio setup and it gets better battery life than the nexus with a smaller battery. Tbolt was just half baked

Verizon build is 4.0.2

I on the other hand, is a heavy user. I get around 5 hour of screen time.

Partly true. The Rezound has a 1620mah batter compared to the 1400mah battery in the Tbolt.

The modding and custom roms are better on the TBolt than the X, but unless you get the Tbolt for free, I still think you can do better. By the time HTC got their crap together with the Bolt's firmware, the phone was even more obsolete than it was at launch.

Thanks for the advice, everybody. I'll keep looking for something to replace my Droid X. I'm not sold on staying with Verizon, so I'm not sure if I want to pay for a GNex and have to stay with Verizon; kind of want to try to buy a GSM version, but not 100% sold on eating the ETF.

For the record, I hate the Droid X because of Motorola's software. These guys cannot write quality software, so they should just stop. The phone lags, freezes, crashes, drops out all connections randomly, etc. Just an overall pile of garbage, except for its camera.

Droid X has a huge developer base over at XDA. I'm pretty sure you can install ICS, CM7, or MIUI on it.

I've tried the liberty rom in the past, but the way developers have to deal with the locked bootloader and the fact that even ICS roms (last I read a while back) are based on Gingerbread instead of the ICS source sucks. I'd love to put CM on my phone, but after having the Nexus One and the ease of changing roms, the X is just inferior.

Meh, no ICS, not interested. Doubt any of those issues are prevalent on my rom that's months old.

Will update the radio though if it's newer. MR4 cut my battery life in half, but I've been too lazy to downgrade. Always near a power source.

Thinking about just grabbing a GNexus off ebay. Been eligible for upgrade since January, but I didn't want to waste it on a phone that was out for a few months, and they're still charging ridiculous prices.

Really want to see the ICS on TB first though. If it spruces it up like it did my TF101 tab, may be no reason to waste money.
