I don't get it... it is scarcastic the lines that you highlighted. Tom barely makes an appearance on his own website, so I guess its a delight to his followers to read that he's actually doing something.

Not that I trust him totally and without doubt or anything. He has articles daily and on weekends, he pretty made watercooling, silent cooling, overclocking a mainstream commodity. No one here knew how to unlock t-birds or anything else before him, unless you had the Tbird documents show preseting you with the L1 bridges. He might at times seems weird (and his facts a bit wrong...they need a better editor IMO) but his website seems to have outlasted many others in its field. He's current, sometimes hypocritical but its still a d@mn good read.

Agreed. I don't always take what Tom says to heart, but this I distinctly read as a joke. I'm sure Tom likes to stir the pot sometimes, and this is certainly one of them. Not the best anology to use though, but then again, he isn't American right? He probably doesn't see the terrorist situation the way we do.

THG has some of the most informative, insightful, and honest articles available on net, especially the ones written by T. P. himself. Granted, they often lack a certain eloquence that is present in articles at AT, but most of their articles have valuable content.

Somehow some kind of "US vs Them" spirit has always seemed to exist between Toms and AT, I don't quite understand why, but I guess the reasons are similar to the "ATi vs nVidia", "Intel vs AMD", etc.

For articles related to CPU's and their architecture, I tend to trust Ace's more than AT, but I don't run around slamming AT cause of that, just as I don't slam Tom over stuff like this, just cause I tend to read AT far more than Toms.

People just need someone to complain about to feel good or something I guess...

Wtf who cares its not like hes satan and trying to infect your children or something. Its just a benchmarking site, and he decided to post his opinion which seemed pretty valid to me. Infact id even agree with him for the most part. Obviously Anand tech is a better site but toms is not horrible, just not as good. Doesnt mean i dont still occasional go to toms to see if hes got anything interesting.

ditto....you guys need to lighten up some. I'm no fan of Tom's, but sometimes people just make too much out of nothing. And it's not just with this silly article from Tom; many people around here, and of course in other walks of life, are too quick to criticize others and put on that holier than thou routine. If people worried more about what the hell they were doing rather than what their neighbor was doing, we'd all be better off.

I hope you guys dont always take things this serious outside of this forum...life is too short to get all bent out of shape about every little thing. Hopefully you wont have to learn that the hardway.

He bashed intel pretty good that they did not give him any info on p4 so his site had nothing when the nda was lifted. Er, but they did suck. The P3 1.13ghz, as far as what was shipped to the reviewers, was defective. If you have to recall a product due to inherant instability issues, then I'm sorry, but you do suck.
