A few thoughts:

I hate second chances, so I was glad Jeff got booted.

Carla continues to surprise me.

Stefan should have gotten axed on attitude alone and if that wasn't enough using packaged sausage should have done it.

Padma looked HOT.

hate Stefan so much... I can't believe they didn't even bring up the fact that he used packaged sausage.

I thought Carla was a joke at first, but I've been growing to love her more and more... when I first saw her tonight with the tight jeans and straightened hair, I could actually buy the model thing (since models don't have to talk )

and because it's worth a repost... http://i42.tinypic.com/33mn676.gif

Yeah Stefan was a total douche last night, surprised he didn't go home. Loved Fabio, so graceful in defeat.

Carla's kicking ass and taking names. She's really found her groove now. I think it's a tossup between Carla/Hosea at this point. I think Hosea has more creativity/bolder flavors, but Carla seems to do a killer job of keeping it simple.

Still think Stefan has the most raw talent in the group, but his cockiness is easily his achilles heal.

In my mind it's going to come down to carla or stefan. I havent been terribly impressed with hosea, but thats just me. i think that stefan clearly has the most "skills" of the group, it's always been a motivation question. if the barely slid into the finals lights a fire under his ass, i think he has the best capability to win.

Anyone watch Iron Chef America? Ariane was one of the sous chefs for the challenger last night.

Glad to see that Stefan didn't win, but Hosea was not particularly worthy. For the majority of the season he was middle of the pack. He managed to not get eliminated, but never excelled. Even tonight he won not so much on ability, but on the fact that Stefan and Carla self-destructed.

I wanted Carla to win and definitely didn't want Stefan to win. So I'm happy about Hosea winning.

great show. I will be going to Hosea's joint in boulder sometime in the next week. Tom hit it on the head, if Carla would have cooked HER food she would have won. Stephan is a strong chef with amazing skills but his arrogance is bitter. Hosea was solid from day one, his food is well thought out and prepared with skill and he deserved the win.

i cant wait until next season this show rocks.

carla blew it. she let casey dictate what to cook and how to cook, when she should have just cooked what she wanted to.

grats to hosea! he deserved it for sure. fabio is a lock for fan favorite though

i fell asleep like 3 minutes after the conversation regarding a blue cheese soufle that carla did not originally want to due. the mere fact they showed the footage i knew it was not going to be good. then, once i saw stefan say he was making desert, i turned it off and went to bed about 75% sure hosea had it.

not sure about that, carla seems to have a lot of fans (the bravo txt poll showed people wanted her to win... this was after her various cooking disasters)

Carla got more and more likeable as the series went on. She won SB tickets and a car... and gained great reputation. While not winning, she gained pretty damn well imo.

Stefan, on the other hand, gained some animosity from a bunch of people who can't handle talented, smug pieces of shit.

I don't like the editing work they did to portray Stefan as worse than he was. They gloss over all of the friendly/kind moments during the show that we saw. He was made to be the bad guy so that the producers could favor the "good guy underdog" in the finale, IMO. I wouldn't ever want to eat at Hosea's restaurant unless it were cheap. I missed early seasons of Top Chef, but I think Hosea might be the weakest Top Chef I've seen. Why would anyone want to eat at a fancy restaurant where a guy is "consistently good but not great"? Stefan and Carla produced some great dishes in short periods of time. With a full restaurant they could easily produce a consistent line up of great items.

I watched the whole season yesterday while taking care of a sick two-year-old. Awesome watching the episodes back to back, great way to compare how everybody cooks and watch the personalities (and the edits).

Since I got interrupted a lot, I seem to have missed the episode where there was a rice disaster - the commercial/promo kept referring to it. Anybody know what episode that was? What happened?

They said his food was consistent. They also said they thought Stefan's squab was the best dish of the night. Last week, Carla's dishes were superior by far. Possibly Jeff's too. I have yet to see anything from Hosea that would make me want to go to his restaurant. His food might be consistently good, but it's generally really safe and uninspired too. They basically awarded him top cook instead of top chef.

Stephan and Carla bombed on several dishes on the finally and in past shows. of the 3 chefs last night nobody had any issues with Hoseas 3 dishes he made.

yes Stephans squab got high marks but he blew it with his fish platter and his stupid dessert.

Carla did great on her dishes but blew it with her soufllee and the steak.

Hosea was rock solid on all 3 dishes and were inspiring. several judges commented on his presentation.

its a competition you cook what you know and dont experiment. that is what carla did and lost bad.

I'm not talking about the finale, I'm talking about the season as a whole. I have no problems with the decision they actually made based on the episode. Carla and Stefan proved to be inspired chefs over time. Hosea had two good moments and happened to win, but overall was much less impressive throughout the season. Several times he messed up cooking basic fish despite working in a seafood restaurant. And he never offered anything all that interesting. During restaurant week, Stefan had those fabulous looking desserts, for example. Carla had those beignets last week. I don't remember anything like that from Hosea.
