I can report that it's nothing less than HOT.

I was afraid that it was going to be a big steaming pile of cheese gift-wrapped in one big advertisement for GM. I was dead wrong. Sure, you get the various GM logos flashed in your face plenty, but

One of my friends made the comparison that it's roughly the same plot of Independance Day... but with transforming robots. I see the direct comparision clearly, but I think it's action-packed enough and as a whole different enough that it doesn't matter.

I also think John Turturo's character gets annoying real fast. Too much attempt at comic relief from that angle.

I will definately be shelling out the cash to see it again shortly after or on the release date.

drove by the premiere today here in westwood. they had a huge um yellow transformer. no idea who it was though. since i was driving, i couldn't stop and gawk.

regarding your friends thoughts on the ***SPOILER*****

Considering that Transformers the series was created and shown on TV in the mid 80's and assuming the movie is roughly the same premise as the series (IDK I haven't seen it yet), I would say that Independance Day is the same plot as Transformers except it is wil flesh aliens and not robots.


But all the same I am really looking forward to seeing this movie!

I did the same. Went to see Ratatouille last night. Seeing Transformers tonight.

This has been such a great summer for movies.

Forgive me for my movie theater stupidity, but what are that catches with "Advanced Movie Screening". Is it the same as a regular showing just advanced in date?

Yep. The only catch is that no passes can be used.
