3. Didn't not like the "glass" shinny look on these new transformers <on both sides>. Too much blink blink for my taste. Love it when Optimus said "Autobots, roll out", just like it was in the 80s toons.

4. Some of the fights were too fast and too blurry, couldn't see who was fighting who and what was going on.


If there is a sequel, I like to see Soundwave <gotta have the original voice actor and the tape recorder with two big arms>, Grimlock and the gang, the Spaceshuttle <forgot the name>. I will give this movie a grade of B-.

Oh god please not Grimlock.

I think it was actually "to punish and enslave" but I definitely got a kick out of it.

I really liked the snap missile shot one of the F-22's got on Starscream, knocking him out of plane form. Hopefully we'll have (much) more in the sequel. As for the voice, I never liked how Starscream and Cobra Commander sounded *exactly* the same. Granted it was the same voice actor, but he also did other, far less annoying voices.

I actually liked the fast, brutal nature of some of the fights. It made it feel more like they were actually fighting instead of just posing and putting on a show. I especially liked the way Optimus dispatched Bonecrusher without any hesitation.

Astrotrain... I believe he was the first triple-changer in the series.

In what way does she not look good....exactly?

The angle of the shot could have been more flattering for her.

Megan Fox looks f0cking hawt in the movie, in most of the scenes. But the primere shot is 'okay' due to the composition. The red lipstick is also too red for her skin tone and shes looking rather orangegy

I was in a DLP theater, and I gotta say the movie was hella grainy. I don't know if it was intended or there was something jacked with the projector or what, but some of the close-up face shots of the actors just had WAY too much noise.

The picture in our DLP theater was absolutely perfect. Then again, the theater is literally a couple of hundred yards from the TI building where they invented the DLP chip/lens.

It basically saids having Bumblebee as a VW wasn't realistic because it wouldn't transform into a big enough height. The same with Megatron, the animations just wouldn't work.

Bumblebee wasn't a VW Bug because they didn't want to have it become Herbie Meets The Transformers basically.

Autobots and Decepticons were pretty easy to tell in my opinoin. They made a point in the movie to show who everyone was. If anything the Decepticons got screwed with not enough screen time.

The All Spark is "the cube", it can create life, etc... Wasn't in the cartoon. Vector Sigma, The Matrix, etc... were sort of like the All Spark, but not really. It was basically made up for the movie.

Megatron never got time to scan a different "Earth" mode, so he stayed his Cybertronian Jet. The gun mode wouldn't work for two reasons. 1.) They were trying to make it a little more realistic as far as transformation size goes. None of the characters got bigger or smaller when they transformed. 2.) Can't market Megatron as a gun because of the toys. Megatron will always be a tank, jet, etc... from now on. Got to sell the toys to all the kids.

Shockwave? Rumble?

Frenzy was the cd player that stole the information on Megatron's location. A character I thought I would hate, but actually enjoyed. In the Gen 1 cartoon Frenzy was one of Soundwave's tapes, and basically like Rumble. Rumble was the purple/blue one, and Frenzy was red/black. The toys were different. Rumble was red/blue, and Frenzy was purple/blue.

Anyway Frenzy basically ran around with Barricade the Decepticon Police Car.

I hope Shockwave is in the sequel. Would be a good replacement for Decepticon leader until Megatron or Galvatron (way to soon for Galvatron) returns.

4 out of the 13 transformers were GM products.

VW didn't want to be a part of a film with violence.

Except for Frenzy, the Autobots had blue eyes and the Decepticons had red eyes.

Megatron never had an opportunity to reformat to an Earth object. He crashed over the pole when he first arrived on the planet a thousand years ago. That's why he is his Cybertronian jet.

Shockwave wasn't in the film.

Like I said, the original show was Robots vs Robots and the humans were just kind of there. This was more like Humanity vs Robots with some Robots as assistance. Heck, they said the idea of the movie was more about a "boy and his car" than anything else... that's not transformers.

I was never a big fan of the cartoon. I saw the movie on opening day and was very pleased with it overall. This was one of the best movies to come out in the last couple of years if you like to just be entertained.

Random thoughts/opinions after seeing this movie:

--The sheer horror of a real-life Decepticon would be beyond awful. The scene where Barricade interrogates the boy about the glasses... such brute force! Evil, robotic, booming voice while smashing steel robo fists into objects near his squishy organic head. 95% of the population would crap their pants and pass out right there on the pavement.

My point being, that I think they did a great job of projecting such robots as realistic and believable as possible. The cartoon obviously was never able to even remotely capture that feeling. This movie shows that Transformers are immense, and absurdly powerful.

--I'm sorry if you HATE this movie because Megatron wasn't a 12" pistol, or that Bumblebee wasn't a VW. Your loss. For various reasons (and an apparent GM contract), it would have been unhealthy for the movie to show off absurd transformations and old ass vehicles. The movie (like most based on older properties) had to be modernized and updated to SOME degree.

--I thought that the musical score was incredible. There's one in the works for release.

--The leading boy actor did remarkably well. That was unexpected going in.

--Shame on whoever was in charge of robot names/research. What a piss poor job. Devastator? What a joke.

--I can't fathom any 25-32 year old male, in which Transformers were a part of their childhood, disliking this movie. Sure, you could nitpick and have a couple of things bug you... but if you didn't get a big sh*t-eating grin when you first saw the helicopter transform, or when Optimus Prime first spoke... then something is purely wrong with you. You're taking life way too seriously for your own good. This movie was incredible for sheer nostalgia alone.

It was supposed to be Brawl. The toy is named Brawl. In a Q&A session, one of the writers said it was a mistake that he was named Devastator in the movie. I can believe it since his name is mentioned once in a subtitle. It was never spoken.

Just saw it for a second time and liked it even more the second go-around I think. I definitely picked up more.

One thing that pissed me off...a big blunder on Bay's part...we see Air Force One in flight as a 747...and then when it lands and the evil little robot crawls out to get into the police car...the plane is suddenly a POS 707! WTF!

And one more thing...you think Prime & Gang would have simply followed Bumble Bee to the Hoover Dam...you know, follow their captured soldier...and you mean to tell me that such advanced robots don't have locaters and what not to hone in on each other? All of this is ignored for the glasses. Prime has to scan them first and only then do they know where Bumble Bee, the All Spark, etc. are located. Weak.

Edit: I have heard that the film is targeted for 9-13 year-olds. I frankly feel that is too young. The perfect audience for this movie is us, more like 25-35 year-old males.

On second viewing I felt Hugo Weaving as Megatron's voice was perfect! And yes, not nearly enough Star Scream.

Porsche/VW were against using their vehicles in a violent movie - boo on them

I think the GM vehicle thing is fine, the only exception was jazz - he wouldve been better off as a vette. I think the most badass vehicle was barricade b/c that saleen was just plain SICK!
