I saw it today as well. Great movie, I agree some of the scenes should have been cut out.

My only problem was that some of the fight scenes were **too** quick! Sometimes I couldn't make out who was who

I agree, cut out Sector Seven and it would've been a lot better. He may've been part of some "humor scenes", but the part got a little outlandish with his incredibly dorky character being some super secret government agent.

That's why I think the older G1 designs were a little better at times. They were extremely colorful and very distinguishable. With these new one, most of the transformers were very gray except for ratchet, bumblebee and Optimus Prime.

This was one of the my favorite movies ever. Despite the fact there were several things I disliked about it (hackers, sector 7), the bad ass factor was just phenomenal and overshadowed everything else. Favorite parts:

1. Bumblebee becoming the new camaro
2. Starscream vs F-22 (although it was too short)
3. Anything Optimus

There were more cheers at the end of Transformers than I heard at the end of any of the Star Wars or LOTR movies.

Just saw it- it was a great summer movie! They changed everything I knew about Transformers, but they did a decent job of it. Lots of humor, action, and the military kicks ass for once instead of getting it handed to them. It had a few uneven spots, but they were easily overlooked.

Words just cannot describe how f**kn awesome the movie was. It was for the first time in 1 to 2 years of money well spent at the movies!

I laugh at the reviewers saying too many robots, and not many "humans" (and the development of theme etc etc). But really, who the *ffing cares about that when all of us just wants to see Optimus Prime take on Megatron.

You just know this is going to turn into a trilogy (something like LOTR) when starscream takes off and heads to outer space i.e back to cybertron with other decepticons gone "missing". To me, we just barely scratched the surface of whats to come out of these series just like LOTR. Although many of us wanted more starcream/megatron screen time, im betting that the next sequel will be mostly decepticons and their reunion under starscream as leader invading earth again. But the thing is i bet the movie will end with megatron coming back again (yes he will ALWAYS come back somehow just like the cartoons out there) setting up for the final encounter in the last chapter of the trilogy.

With all the foundations set, (a very good one breaking all box office records on tuesday 03/07/07) this movie/trilogy has the potential to break all records.

I CANT F**KN WAIT FOR TRANSFORMERS 2!!

-note yes i did see this on 28/07/07 in New Zealand Im wondering why it was released couple of days earlier than the rest of the world.

Did anyone notice when the Xbox was turned into a transformer it made the Xbox signature sound? And then I think it overheated and had to be sent back to Cybertron to get refurbed.

My brother & I pondered the same question until he remembered the line of how all our current technology was reversed engineered from Megatron, so it stands to reason that anything engineered from an evil robot "could " be evil.

Same reason why you won't ever see a VW in Transformers: VW have declared that they will not have their vehicles associated with violence in any way whatsoever, which is why Hasbro can't get the licence to use VW vehicles.

Anyhow I had no clue who the hacker girl is. Wasn't paying too much attention to her, Megan Fox distracts you and I was thinking she looks older than Sam, obviously very smart.

Will she be end up playing the Carly role?

Yes I know Megan Fox's character is Spikes love interest but she doesn't look too smart and isn't clean cut like carly was written as.

I guess not everything can be like the cartoons.

I wish they threw in the line "megatron must be stopped, no matter the cost"

Saw it. Loved it. I don't know how any boy who grew up in the 80s with the toys could NOT love this movie.

I saw it yesterday. It was ok. The scene near the beginning with Scorponok(?) and the AC130 gunship was awesome, but some of the scenes were just silly. Like when all of the autobots were at Sams house trying to hide from the parents and Optimus Prime saying "my bad" was just dumb. As someone stated some of the fight scenes were way too quick. The whole Sector 7 stuff was unnecessary as well. Megan Fox was hot of course, that scene where she's looking at bumblebees' engine was smokin', but anyone could tell she wasn't high school age. The aussie analyst girl was hot, should've shown more of her. The little soundwave guy was just too stupid. And the whole thing with them "disposing" of them in the ocean to keep it all secret is dumb. How in the hell do they think they were going to keep it all secret? The big battle took place in the middle of a city! A bagillion people saw it all.....I don't know, I was expecting it to be a little more serious.

Overall it was a cool flick, and I'll definetly be getting it on video but I'd personally give it 7/10....

Seems that was either trying to add a bit of kiddy-ness to it or maybe adding a bit of the silly/cheesy humor in the original series. From what I remember reading, the movie was meant to be more of a family movie rather than an action movie.

That's actually Frenzy, one of Soundwave's tapes. Supposedly they want to bring Soundwave into the sequel though.
