I think they'll come down hard this time. The italian fans are getting out of hand. There was the Roma incident earlier this year in the Champions League, 40 policemen being injured in riots before matches this past weekend, and now this. UEFA have no choice but to come down hard on Italian clubs and their fans.
Some of the Italian fans. It's only an unfortunate minority ruining it for all. I think it would be very harsh and unfair to punish those clubs whose fans have done nothing wrong. By all means punish the clubs that do have the problems. What's more disturbing after reading a few forums is that the Inter incident was pre-meditated. Various sections of the Inter Ultra's had decided before the game to throw flares on the pitch as a protest against their club owner for the clubs poor season.
The wrongly disallowed goal only seemed to antagonise things further and make the protest worse, and nasty. I support AC, and I've been to the San Siro. I know a fair few Inter fans, and there's generally no malice between the two sides. I don't think there was a deliberate attempt to hit Dida, merely make a point. I'm not condoning how they did it, but I can see where they come from. Maybe they should learn from the AC Ultra's and just use huge banners as a protest

I have to say i'm a bit worried about tomorrow's game in Turin as well... I dont know if anyone saw the game between Livepool and Juventus last week, at the start when there was a small ceremony in light of the historical Heysel disaster, some of the hardline Juve supporters turned their backs on the friendly guesture...
On top of that a few Liverpool supporters opted to travel on their own for tomorrow's game, disregarding the advice of the club and the police.
I sure hope that game is an entertaining one and helps to restore some peace and dignity to Italian football.
I was more annoyed at the Liverpool fans booing at the Juventus fans clapping during the minutes respect. I think it was a big ignorant of other cultures, given that Italians clap as a mark of respect for deceased. Maybe the club should have announced this beforehand, because it more or less ruined that minute.
And yes, lets hope normality is resumed.
Some good points, I don't think anyone would suggest that all Italian fans/clubs have problems but there are a few issues which need dealing with, as in most countries. Lazio have had huge racims problems in the past yet very little was done at the time. Unfortunately in situations like this it may be a case of having to punish 'the many' in order that the few who cause problems are rooted out.
