It's a shame England can't offer Deco a place

heh tru dat, I'd have Deco in my team any day...

Rui Costa is trading on past performances (as is Owen for England tbh)

What happened between Figo and Deco? I didn't know about that.

Figo doesn't like Deco because he's naturalised Portugese (originally Brazilian I think?) - doesn't think that players should be able to change nationality

Yeah, although he's still worth having around if he can hit form. I would have taken Defoe as well and left one of the midfielders at home

Scolari needs to stop relying on the underachieving "Golden generation" and start playing Deco and Ronaldo. They are the future of Portugese soccer.

Agreed, except for Defoe I'd rather have Vassell in the team he's proven on the international stage and in the big games (and I'm a Villa fan so... )

Though I still think Heskey the donkey should have been left at home.

I'd have had Vassell and Defoe in the squad. If Heskey played to his strengths then he'd be first choice - I remember his debut against Argentina and his physical presence terrified their defence, but now he falls over a lot.

Congrats to Villa BTW for a great season

Heskey's always fallen over too much for such a big bloke he's a puff

and thanks it was a good season in the end especially when you consider where we were in November

What did you do? Have you got his personal number or something?

Maybe Scolari reads ATOT

Italy have got a good chance providing they don't do their usual choking act, I think they've got the best defence in the tournament they just always seem to struggle scoring on the really big occasions

Did you have a word with big Phil? ;-)

LOL... just got done with lunch and saw the changes. Who says I can't coach top-level international soccer?

Doesn't seem to have helped them though...

Why is Ronaldo stuck back on the left side, and why isn't he being allowed to create more? He's not a pure crosser, he creates in plenty of other ways too.

He thinks he's playing for United right now, looking for van Nistelrooy on the back post.

Had a couple of shots deflected out too. Played better than most of his teammates at least.

WTF......this match is pure BS. Why on earth is Ronaldo being victimised by the crowd. I think he's sthe only one making a difference in the game except Deco. Pauleta should be the one off. He's not even helping the team. :|
