The stats don't even reflect the dominance of France overall. England defended very very well. They deserved better but then France did too.

However, England let France attack far too much. France was out of ideas but Zidane freekick shook them up. Then they broke down and gave away a penalty.

Fantastic save by Barthez.

You prove over and over again that you know fvck all about the sport.

England lost the game on three mistakes. Most people would agree England played the better game.

Both teams played bad, France had no tempo and England defended most of the time, really dissapointing game.

And they wonder why Liverpool weren't performing well. Owen was nowhere to be seen, heskey started the French's come back, Gerard gave it all away.

Now that's better, isn't it? Now you are contributing and giving your views.

I recall that the ball played around mostly in the England side of the half. To me that's dominating possession and keeping pressure on England.

And isn't that what I said? England did a superb job at defending.

France did dominate the attack but were out of ideas. England defense was very very strong. That's why I said that the stats can be misleading because the shot attempts don't reflect how much France tried in attacking England.

We watch the same game, and read the same stats but simply interpret it differently.

Our only difference is that you got a strange attitude but I'm open to your ideas. I don't agree with it all but do agree with some of your views. It'd help if you contribute rather than just saying sh*t about me because we do at least partly talk about the same thing using different vocabulary.

With the likes of mistakes by Gerrard and Beckham's rather poor penalty which led to Barthez's fantastic save, I cannot agree that England had the better game.

But then, I know f*ck about the sport, right?

France played a terrible first half. For a team with arguably the world's best offence, they did little. England didn't have many opportunities, but they held the ball, kept the pressure, and held the French at bay.

England tried to protect their lead in the second half, something they always do. We all know how poor their defence is, but they still managed to contain the world's best offence.

Now, there is absolutely anyway you could possibly say France dominated that game.

No, England, a team with a poor defence, did well at containing one of the world's best teams. France had no up tempo because they were held at bay. What did you expect the English to do? It was exciting, and most of the experts on TV seemed to agree.

ALLEZ ZIDANE!

Personally I thought England was all over France for parts of the game.. and I thought a draw was well-deserved given France's pressure... And Beckham's penalty wasn't a poor one, it was a pretty darned good one if you ask me... but Barthez guessed right and then saved brilliantly (and followed that up by saving Vassel's shot with his nose ).

Still that was a THRILLING match, but honestly I think England got jacked

Please. Spouting names on a board full of disinterested yanks means fvck all. He's made statements one would only attribute to someone who knows little about the sport. He's even back-peddled a few times.

Look, I was born in a country where football is religion. I move to Canada, a country rich with immigrants and multiculturalism, but full of fair weather fans, and know-nothing wannabes. Football picked up popularity over here ten years ago, and since then I've had to endure the uninformed opinions of those who only give a rat's ass every two years. I thoroughly resent that.

After July 4, no one will be take an interest in the sport until the next event.

Don't lecture me on something I was born with.

So why don't you just come out and admit that your English then and pissed off that your team choked again just like it always does? England couldn't even beat Germany straight up for the world cup title, they had to rely on a goal that was never scored.

I spout names because I enjoy watching them.

If background matters at all, I was born in a country where millions of citizens showed football spirit in a manner unheard of in the history of the World Cup.

And I grew up in Argentina as a child, and football is more than religion there.

But who gives a crap any way. What do you wanna prove? That your dick is bigger than mine? You are caught up with a bunch of pointless bullsh*t.

I never inteded to impress any one. It is not like I get anything from impressing a bunch of geeks at ATOT. I just wanted to enjoy the game and engage in pointless chats with a bunch of people online.

It is not like I intend to make a career out of it. It is nothing but a hobby.

You remind me of a kid I used to know 2 years ago who joined an amateur league a couple of times and pretended like he knew everything there is about football.

After reading the rubbish in this thread, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that very few truly know the sport.

Yes, I am English, and very aware of my squad's ability. England do have a habit of choking when it really matters and because of that, they've got a reputation. However, football is a game of upsets, and to call a result and change your mind in the same sentence (with no humility) just leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth.

There are better sides than the English, but for our lads to hold the French (with the best offence in the world) at bay for an entire game, and to have some twat state that the French dominated proves just how little he knows.
