Anyways, that was clearly foul. Sorry fella. Its cut and clear. Watch the video I am hosting above. You canNOT put your hands on the goalkeepers shoulders and try to keep him on the ground. That's foul.
The problem in Germany and Turkey is nowhere close to the problem in Britain and everywhere else with Brits. One incident in Germany or Turkey does NOT mean they are as a bad as the British in holiganism. In fact, I don't remember any videos of the incident in Turkey as it was a post-game thing and nobody can know what happened there between the British and Turkish fans. What the British is famous for is "holiganism after a lost". Heh...
I have watched the video and various recaps, watch Terry's eyes as he goes for the ball and stands his ground - he makes no attempt to foul the keeper but is simply going for the ball - he does not 'hold down' Ricardo. It's a physical game and the keeper should have to get round this, to say that no contact is allowed with the keeper is blatantly wrong - the ref would have had no hesitation in awarding the goal at the other end.
However, as I've said previously Portugal were the better team on the night.
You obviously have little knowledge of the frequent organised football violence in Germany as well as the attitude of Turkish fans - I'm not talking about the incident where two Leeds fans were stabbed but for example the constant pelting of English team buses (club and international) with bricks and other missiles when playing Turkey or the throwing of missiles onto the pitch at players in recent international matches.
There are some British hooligans but they are in the minority and the sweeping statement you made was just incorrect[/quote]
LOL... I don't have much time to discuss the holiganism but about the disallowed goal.
Sure, it`s not a foul if your intention is to jump for the ball and the keeper touches you, but you can't touch the goalkeeper. Yesterday, as we can clearly see from the video, he has his hands on the goalkeeper's shoulders, preventing him to move towards the ball. Not just for the goalkeeper, that's a foul for every player in football. You cannot use any body part (except upperbody excluding arms) to prevent movement towards the ball. Sorry dude, I am watching all the commentaries and everyone agrees on the foul. Commentors in England may disagree but we all know they will have bias.
