Not the cleanest way to go through, but Holland are through.

My brother is a Sweden fan and he is mad at me.

Hehe, I seriously doubt that the Netherlands wil win the tournament, they just don't seem sharp enough.

A thoroughly uninspired and relatively boring quarter final game played by two teams that really haven't played quality football and won by a team undeserving of their progression.

Mother fvcker. I had to work during the game so I capped it on my computer. The capture ended at the end of regulation.

The kicker is I saw the tv program running when I got in and it was right when they had their break before extra time. Just looked at the score. At least I got the result I wanted

?

The dutch/czech game was easily the best game so far... And the dutch easily outplayed Latvia. They've played well enough in every game they've had to play well in.

Haha. That's why I always set these things to 180 minutes.

I still can't believed what have we done yesterday.

I hope Holland will meet my country to the semi finals today, and make me happy again.

GO ORANJE!!!!

No, the only possibility is that Greece will meet Holland in the final.

I mean it as a metaphore. You know, meet, like advance on the semi finals.
But we will meet at the finals hopefully so I don't worry

Anyway where's Ndee 2night? Go HOLLAND!!!!!!!

No.

Holland has played a team with no tournament experience and a limp German side. They did fairly well against the Czechs, but I would hardly call it the most exciting game yet. Pffft.

I thought he went out with his new girl but apparently he did catch the game.

He probably fell asleep drunk because he had to drink a shot every time the commentator said "Ruud" or "van Nistelrooij."

I assume that you mean 2night's game and I completely agree with you. They were both afraid each other. Well these things happen at quarter and semi finals. They were both afraid to play attacking football. I have a feeling though that Sweden wanted after sometime in the match to lead it to the penalties. But I admit they were unlucky in the end. It's one of the few times that luck didn't turn her back on Holland.

If only Frank wouldn't have to leave injured. Maybe things would have been easier for Holland since Advocaat wouldn't have to spend a substitution. Makaay's weird role in the end, is beyond my imagination.
He was playing at the right wing and coming from behind as a second CF. WTF?
Another great game by Roben. He never ceazes to amaze me. Fantastic player.

In a tournament like this, luck is one importnat factor in order to advance.
I agree that nor Latvia is the best team in order to jump into conclusions, neither is this Germany which hardly reminds you the traditional great team.

But keep in mind that they had the second best attack with 7 goals, and they have to put up with Advocaat's weird system that insists on playing with one CF. WTF? He has four great attackers to choose from, and that's the way Holland should play. Attack is the best defense, and Holland has enough quality players to do it.
But he insists on playing with only one.

Robben thoroughly impressed me as well. Probably the best player on the field today.

How does playing some poor teams make them undeserving of advancement? Someone has to play them and someone has to beat them. Holland made it through in arguably the toughest group in the tournament.

I think it will be a Portugal - Czech final, was hoping Sweden win today cause they played some good football throughout the tournament.

Hey guys

ah, no, I was out on the England - Portugal game Yeah, we had a drinking game, each of my friend were a player and everytime the commentator said that name, we had to drink a shot. I wanted to be van Nistelrooy Yeah, the game sucked, the Swedes could have decided, I just hoped it wouldn't go into penalty killing cuz the Dutch normally suck at it. I think the final will be Czech - Holland and the Czech will win but I'm hoping for Holland of course

Not at all, I'm not saying that Holland didn't deserve to advance. If you read my previous post, I say that Latvia and Germany weren't the best teams to make some safe conclusions.
But as you said someone had to beat them, and this was Holland. And look at us with the Czechs. We played fantastic football but we were unlucky in the end. So sometimes it's better not to play so well and have the luck on your side rather than have a good game and disqualify. And this has happened many times with Holland in the past....

Surely the toughest group was Sweden/Denmark/Bulgaria/Italy? Holland and Czech Republic had nothing to fear from Germany and Latvia

No, I think that's the only group where there were 3 teams on a reasonably equal level (on paper). Germany have one of their poorest teams ever and Latvia would always struggle so as far as I'm concerned Holland and Czech Republic were in an easy group, it certainly wasn't the toughest

Germany is a typical Tournament team, they're always good for a surprise and there's a History between Germany and Holland so...

Agreed, but it's about time that Germany got found out as a poor team. The rivalry with Holland obviously gave them an edge in the first game before Van Nistlerooy got the Dutch out of jail (great finisher BTW) but I was never in any doubts that they'd struggle against Latvia and the Czechs (I would love to have seen the Czech first team play the Germans!)

Still - great tournament so far, I really hope the Danes can pull out a result tonight.....
