Pete Caroll will have SC ready as usual. Seems to me they have rolled over opponents in early nationally televised games in recent years. I expect no different this time. They are always very deep and very talented. If SC lost its best running back they'd still be super strong at running back. They are always that way at "Tailback U."

The talent USC has at RB at the moment is ridiculous. Marc Tyler would probably start at maybe 15 out of the top twenty teams, and he's what, 4th or 5th string at USC? Crazy depth there.

ah yes, like this game where they needed to bend the rules on the last play of the game to steal a win... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2...tre_Dame_football_game
Arguable whether it fits your definition of 'early' though

It's okay... SC's fair-weather fan base will just erode quickly away after the hellfire rains down on them in the form of NCAA sanctions.
I'm actually giddy for this day to come, and boy, is it coming.

This game will scare Ohio State back into another 20 years of beating up on inferior non-conference opponents.

Yes, I know it's not the popular opinion.

who says they won't be?
OSU has a history of playing down and up to opponents. OSU playing bad against OU last week will likely mean nothing heading into the USC game. Then again, it could... but with OSU being a senior team with experience, I doubt last week was anything more than a bad game for the team.
No Beanie though... that might prove to mean trouble.

What? I'm inclined to believe that OSU has a history of running up the score, which is precisely why Beanie may not be playing in this game.

Like thier previous home and home with Texas? (the year of and after Texas' national title)
And now a home and home with USC,
followed by Miami FL
then Alabama.

Exactly what inferior non conference teams are you referring to? Please give me an example of a team that plays a better non conference schedule...

umm no they dont. Most teams leave thier starters in until they are up by 40, Wells got hurt while up 26. OSU has a history (at least under Tressel) of NOT running up the score when given the chance.

I suspect OSU will need to hire a new sport psychologist just to deal with the collective trauma that USC is about to cause.

One game gives OSU the best non-conference schedule? I guess you forgot Ohio, Youngstown State and Troy. Real badasses right there.

USC traveled to Virginia to open the season, then plays OSU and Notre Dame. Way more impressive than OSU.

Florida played Hawaii, Miami (FL), plays Citadel then @ Florida State. Way more impressive than OSU.

According to this link:

Schedule Strength

OSU has the 20th hardest schedule in the land. I can't find any numbers on non-conference strength of schedule, but OSU won't be on top.

Did you just put up Notre Dame and Citadel as hard OOC games? Are you on Crack?

USC-Notre Dame is a regular thing, as is Florida-Miami, no surprises there.

I didnt say OSU had THE #1 non conf schedule, I was only pointing out how retarted it is for people to say they dont have one when they typically are one of the few BCS teams with the balls the schedule top ooc teams year in and year out.

You said 'please give me an example of a team that plays a better non conference schedule'. I gave you two teams. There are more.

I didn't say ND and Citadel were 'hard' OOC games. Lumped into a group with the rest of the OOC games makes the group more impressive.

No matter what, though, ND is a harder game than Ohio, Youngstown St. and Troy. Always, every year.

I do give OSU props for scheduling great home-and-home games with great teams. I wish more teams would do it as I LOVE seeing big-time programs play each other.
