Rutgers home field is quickly becoming the graveyard for top 5 teams. Now if they can just make it to something better than the Texas bowl.

Be interesting to see how far USF falls and how high RU climbs. RU is already 31 in the coaches and 33 in the AP. Knocking off #2 usually does wonders but it depends if people view USF as a pretender. USF lost to an unranked team so I predict a drop from the top 10... maybe to 15. I think RU ends up around 20.

Too bad they couldn't bring the same game against Maryland and Cincy. Still, 5-2 isn't too shabby at all. Don't think a BCS Bowl Game is in the cards unless a lot of games swing our way , but we'll see. Quite a few games left in the season. Go RU!

i don't think many thought usf was a top 5 team before the game. it was only a matter of time before they fell.

The big East was 5-0 in bowl games last year, including the Orange Bowl and we have 4 totally legit Heisman candidates this year (did you SEE Rice run??). IMHO, we're not THAT overrated. Yeah, a lot of the Big East teams had a relatively weak schedule set up but aren't schedules usually determined 5 years in advance?

Even though I'm a huge Ohio State fan, I have to agree that OSU is not the best team in the nation right now. If OSU ends the regular season unbeaten and has a convincing win in Ann Arbor, then we might be able to make a case for number 1, but if LSU wins out then even with one loss I think that LSU is the legitimate #1. OSU, in my mind, is on-par with USC and Cal.

In any case, the only poll that matters is the one in mid-January. Anything before that is meaningless.
