Too bad it is at the expense of my favorite hockey team...the "We can't win a game if we tried" Boston Bruins.

*Shrug*

Oh well...it should be nice to see the Bertuzzi - Naslund line matched up against the Thornton - Murray line.

Blarg, why do none of you bastards say the Bertuzzi, Naslund and Morrison line? Morrison does play a very substantial role in that line, but is always overlooked

Probably because I was just comparing the top two scoring pairs on each team. On each top line, the third guy is a big part of the chemistry, but is overshadowed by the two scorers. It's just part of todays game. Knuble and Morrison both work extremely hard and the neither line would be the same without them.

Haha, I just hope Boston or Montreal can stay ahead of the Rangers. It'd be so funny if they didnt make it to the play offs again. Buahahah!

We would have to really suck, and the Rangers would have to get on fire. Sort of the same with Montreal. The B's have four games in hand on the blue shirts, and two on Montreal. The B's do not play Montreal any more this season, and we see the Rangers once more in Boston.

Show em who?s the boss. They need to learn money does not = Stanley cup, most of the time.

You can only do that by beating the Flyers tomorrow.

ah yes, we get Boston tonight.

The B's are stuggling mightily, but if memory serves me correctly, the last time we met them thier top line pretty pwn3d us. Here's to hoping Skuds can come up big again!

w00t! We win!

It was kind of scary for a second there when Boston tied it, but we answered right back. Cooke's interview after the game was pretty funny too

Haha. The SNET interviewer said:

"You've now got 12 goals, one off of your best."

Cooke looked at him funny.

SNET: "Um, I hope I've got that right..."

Cooke: "Nope."

SNET: "Um..."

Cooke: "I had 14 once."

SNET: "Alright then. Someone knows their own stats better than me."

Canucks set road record in Boston

TSN.ca Staff
3/3/2003

BOSTON (AP) - Matt Cooke scored two goals and added an assist as Vancouver broke a franchise record with its 21st road victory, 6-4 over the Boston Bruins on Monday night.

Vancouver is 6-0-3 in its last nine road games and is 47-16-8-1 on the road since the beginning of last season. The Canucks had 20 road victories on two previous occasions, most recently last season.

Boston extended its winless streak to nine games (0-5-3-1). The Bruins' last victory came Feb 14 against Florida.

The Canucks were ahead 3-1 after two periods, but the Bruins quickly tied it in the third. Glen Murray scored his second of the game when his slapshot trickled through Peter Skudra's pads at 3:25. Jonathan Girard lifted a shot over Skudra just 2:02 later. Boston outshot Vancouver 13-0 in the first seven minutes of the period.

But just when things were looking up for the Bruins, Cooke and Todd Bertuzzi scored 1:27 apart to give the Canucks a 5-3 cushion. After Cooke gave Vancouver a 4-3 lead, Bertuzzi redirected a shot by Markus Naslund through the legs of Jeff Hackett.

Hackett has allowed three or more goals in nine straight games for Boston, which hadn't gone nine games without a victory since the beginning of the 1999-00 season.

P.J.Axelsson scored with 37 seconds remaining to close the gap to 5-4. Marek Malik sealed the game with an empty-net goal for Vancouver.

The Canucks took charge in the second period when Trevor Linden, Trent Klatt and Cooke all scored. Linden tied the game 1-1 when he one-timed a pass from Brent Sopel on the power play.

The Bruins were outshot 10-0 in the first 12:57 of the second period.

Murray gave the Bruins an early 1-0 lead when he converted Mike Knuble's pass. Joe Thornton added two assists for Boston.

Notes: The win for Vancouver snapped a four-game winless streak against the Bruins, and improved its record against the Eastern Conference to 12-3-2. ... Goaltender Dan Cloutier missed his third consecutive game and defenceman Mattias Ohlund his second for Vancouver. ... Hackett is 6-11-3 lifetime against Vancouver. ... Boston is 37-7-7 against the Canucks at home. ... Vancouver defenceman Ed Jovanovski has seven assists in the last six games. ... Joe Thornton has eight goals and 10 assists in the last 14 games. ... The Canucks are 30-0-5 when leading after two periods.

Part of that is also Roy playing much better than he was earlier in the season.
The Wings are doing better now that CuJo is also playing better... Belfour and Brodeur and Khabibulin have all been the difference between a winning team and POS team. So the question is... Cloutier = da choke??

I really hope to see Cloutier back in net soon. I'm not saying Skudra is playing poorly, by no stretch of the imagination is that possible to say. But I also do believe that Cloutier would've saved alot of the goals that went in today, and I just hope Cloutier wont go into a slump due to this injury as he did last time. It's a tight race to the end at the moment.

Woot, game tonight!

Gotta love back to back games
