I saw a translated german review of the chip over at Extreme. They are reported to run a little hotter than the venice but cooler than the FX55's' The reviewer got over 2.7ghz on stock vcore, and when he gave it some volts he got 3.0 prime stable:shocked:

I cracked and orderd a 3200 winchester. I just couldn't wait any longer given that Monarch has a ship date for the retail 3200 Venice of May 22.

I wonder if Sparco offers will-call/instore pick ups. I live in Collierville, TN and Millington is about a 30 minute drive from here. That's strange though, as I had never heard of them before, yet they are hop skip and a jump from me.

And I ordered mine from Sparco, someone at extreme talked to them and found their initial shipment is 60 to be received on 4/18, any orders beyond 60 will wait until May.
Don't know if I'm in the first 60?

weird how Sparco's price on the OEM ADA3200DAA4BP is higher than it is for the boxed ADA3200BPBOX. Or am I missing something here? Then again, I notice just about everyone's price for ADA3800DAA4BP is higher than their price for ADA3800BPBOX.

And Monarch, while not the lowest on a lot of these CPUs, blows everyone away on the ADA3800BPBOX.

Meanwhile, Sparco is still claiming shipping on some of these will start tomorrow--it'll be interesting to hear what those who have already ordered from them report back later this week....

But didn't you order a Winchester?

I was wondering why monarch says the estimated shipping is now May 20th and everywhere else says April 18th?

I'm eagerly awaiting to build a new machine. I don't want to build one without this new Venice core though (since I want 4 x 512mb).

I've been searching. but I can't find any threads on the estimated dates. My guess is that they have a limited stock and monarch has already sold out of pre-orders. If this is true I'm guessing other places may have sold out already on pre-orders also and haven't updated. I hope newegg decides to jump on the bandwagon.

I was also wondering about the discrepancy on sparcos website, they had two Sandy 3700s ADA3700BNBOX and ADA3700DAA5BN at 2 different prices, but the guy I spoke to on the phone said they were most likely different wholesalers

Unfortunately I ordered mine on Friday, and I was #57 so I doubt you made it, but then again I don't know if mine is even shipping tomorrow, Ill let you guys know when I get the email.

Well, I just spoke to a rep at Sparco. And he assured me that I'm in the first shipment for the 3700+ SD. They are now saying they will be receiving 150 pieces, and that as of 9:40am today 4/18 they had 100 orders. Seems contrary to what others have been told, but good news if its a fact. And would indicate there are still 50 to be had from the original shipment

I just got an email from Sparco saying they are backordered (3000+ Venice Box, just FYI) and my ETA for shipping was 4/22. I wonder if the first shipment of these is a few days behind.

Seems like they change their mind a lot......first it was 60 on the 18th, now 150 on the 22nd......hope all is well and you get yours ASAP, but I believe I'll hold out awhile. My money isn't burning that a big of a hole in my pocket!

Makes me wonder if they will get all the new processors in one big shipment? Or if they get seperate shipments for each one 3700+ SD, 3800+ VN, 3000+ VN ect.... I guess we will find out in a few days

Probabally a wize move! I'll be dissapointed if the 3700+ SD doesn't clock any higher than my 3200+ winnie. But I love testing new stuff!! And I will post a complete accounting of my overclocking adventures with this new chip here on the forums. Hopefully some of you guys getting the Venice chips will do the same, and we will get a pretty good picture of the qualities of these new chips.

What's weird isn't that they have two AMD part numbers for the 3700+ San Diego, but that the OEM version (ADA3700DAA5BN) is more than the retail boxed version (ADA3700BNBOX). As I noted above, this seems to be the case at other resellers too for several flavors of E3 and E4 processors.

i ordered one of the ADA3700BNBOX on 4/17 @ 11pm and got an email saying eta of 4/22.

i just called and the rep said they still show them with an eta of today but will know for sure tomorrow. i then asked him what number i am on the list and he said they should be getting 110 units, they show that they have about 60 orders so far and i am number 50. just throwing that info out there for everyone...

I've put off my build for too long. I'm just gonna pick up a Winchester or a Clawhammer. I seriously doubt that I'll notice that much of a difference between 400 and 333 when I fill up all for DIMM slots.

I hope everyone here realizes that when Sparco says "they" will be getting 110 units, what they really mean is that Ingram Micro's database is showing them that IM will have 110 units available for order and drop-shipping as of the date Sparco is quoting. Which means Sparco is not the only company sharing that supposed initial shipment of 110. In fact--and I know I'm repeating an earlier post of mine here--but most resellers currently shown on Froogle for Venice and SD processors all have their orders drop-shipped from the same sources, and actually never see or handle the processors themselves.

For instance, have a look at BottomLineTelecommunications' availability grid for the 3700+ SD. Notice anything? And compare that to the warehouse locations ComputerHQ lists in their inventory table. What a strange coincidence. All three companies--Sparco, BLT, and ComputerHQ--have five warehouses each, and they all just happen to be in the same metropolitan areas of the same five states!
