I wasn't kidding because I could have sworn I read posts by people saying that this board was a good overclocker. I heard that the DFI SLI board is probably the best overclocker of the SLI boards, but I've heard complaints about the drivers for the board and such. If I did go with the DFI Lan Party NForce4 SLI-DR, would I be able to get anywhere near 300?

300 what? HTT or ram speed?

You can hit 300 HTT no problem on either the ASUS or the DFI

You can hit 300 ramspeed at 1T on the DFI if your memory can do it

You can hit 300 ramspeed at 2T on the ASUS if your memory can do it

*edit*

And by the way this ain't bowling 300 isn't the perfect score

HTT? Is that the same as FSB? I was referring to FSB. A previous post in this thread stated that the Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe hits a OC wall at 250mhz. I was under the impression that I could get the FSB close to 300, maybe 270-285, for a clock speed of around 3.0ghz (270x11=2970). Could I do this with either of these boards?

Also, my PSU only has a 20-pin connector. I hear that both of these boards use a 24-pin connector, is that right? Do either of them work with a 20-pin connector or a 20-to-24-pin converter?

There's a thread over on OC forums and one on Xtreme Sys forums as well as Hard that lays out what you'll need to do to get decent O/C's out of the Asus SLI board. What's kind of odd, it seems to be the SLI bios that is making things tricky........the regular A8N-E doesn't have any of the problems the SLI board does and overclocks very well.....

OEM's come in on a tray without any manufactuer warranty or heatsink fan. Quality of chip from my own past history doesn't have much to do with what ends up retail box or OEM. (I personally have always bought OEM cpus, and just got a Sempron 3100+ OEM myself) We give a 60 day warranty through us, and you can go up further from that. (Out to three years)

I'd honestly ask the guy to show proof as far as the 3700+ rev E. goes, because I haven't seen anything yet and haven't heard any further updates since yesterday.

Are the 3200+ rev. e still expected to ship on may 6th? I ordered one from you guys last week but I keep hearing new dates all over the place.

Maybe im lost and maybe MonarchJoe can inform us with more information, but when I add the 3200+ to Monarchs pre-tested combo it says it will be available April 22. If this is true im pre-ordering tomorrow.

i'm gonna be building a new system around the new revision and i have a quick couple of questions after reading this thread in its entirety (btw, i will be oc'ing)

SD 3700+ or Venice 3500+ ? (I do some video work, mostly simple cutup + a ton encoding w/ procoder and tmpeg so I was thinking that 1mb cache would come in handy)

what's would be you memory recommendation, 2x512mb? g-skill, ocz value vx, twinmos?

Well, I was planning on getting a 3200+ venice to supplant my 3200+ CBBID Winnie that can't OC for crap, but I gotta say that 3700+ San Diego is looking mighty tempting! I can't wait to see some reviews with OC's for that chip. An FX for $330 sounds too good to pass up.

I'm hoping to see the cpus sooner than that, as I'm being told shipment is occuring tonight or tommorrow. (This is from my AMD rep's mouth) These should take around 6 days to get to us from Singapore.

Honestly, this was a web error that I had corrected. We updated the date on the items, but the pop-ups were not modified correctly.

I can almost hear the truck backing in ***paces and wrings hands in anticipation***
Now I'm getting worried that the chip will show up before Asus issues a bios that supports it:|

MonarchJoe, I ordered a Venice 3800+ today, the OEM version. Will it is ship by the 29th or could it possibly be earlier?

First, yes the extra L2 cache will come in handy for the video encoding and such. Second, I would suggest going with some PC-4000 OCZ VX memory for the oc'ing potential if your planned board can support high VDimm for the memory.

It is slated to arrive the end of next week, so I would look for it to ship right around that date.
