I was going to ask for a referrall, but after reading their "Terms of Service", Me don't like Vonage.
In addition, Vonage doesn't have my town's area code (I receive plenty of calls):

4.6 Disconnect Fee
Customer will be charged a disconnect fee of $39.99 ($49.99 CAD) per voice line upon termination of Service for any reason or for convenience by Customer.

4.7 Money Back Guarantee; Limitations and Conditions
4.7.1 Vonage offers a 14-day Money Back Guarantee

I'll stick to Broadvoice and keep on paying $9.95 a Month for "Unlimited Calls In-State"

Too bad ... :frown:

Just got my Vonage today. I set it up and used it for about 11 minutes so far. It sounds great and it's so easy! ROCK ON!

I saw that about the money back guarantee, with the current deal I am out what $9.95? As far as the $40 disconnect fee I figure it's worth it. Sprint has been consitantly nailing me $135 a month so, I'll save the $40 in the first month, If i get a few free referal months even better. I told my sister in law about it yes even the $40 fee, she will probably sign up tomorrow. Maybe my first refereal

If you read the TOS further you'll see that the $39.99 Disconnect fee is refunded if you return your equipment within 14 days of cancellation of the service.

What if you bought your own equipment?

As long as you're not planning to fail, what's the problem? As long as you're planning on keeping the service (which ... why else would you GET a service to begin with if you weren't planning on keeping it), the only issue I would see is the area code.

There are several area codes in my city that are local. I couldn't get the MAIN, most popular area code, but I got one that's still local. Do you not have any other area codes available?

Maybe because he hasn't tried the service yet and doesn't know how well it works.

Sweet!! I read it it to mean it had to be returned with 14 days of ordering the service. That's awesome.

BTW: It's Friggen working great!!! I am calling sprint today tell them where they can stick their ~$130 a month. I just for grins i went over went over my bill from sprint last night, there is no way to figure it out. It basically breaks down to this.. I was charged $72.81 for LOCAL service and $39.28 for long distance. WTF!!!!

The linksys I got has the "Ocean noise" in the backround problem. It's not bad, it was barley audible for me. There is a workaround for it and vonage says a firmware patch from linksys is in the works.

I wish I would have switched a year ago....

If you want something really cool pick up the Wifi Phone for vonage, I got one at home from the R & D labs along with the service it's the greatest thing. Aslong as I have wifi coverage I can make phone calls which means alot more range than my normal portable phone.

I'm sitting in on a training class actually if you want hit me up on aim: darkamulet. I have most of the information I can answer any other questions. The phone connects to any traditional B or G access point meaning hot spots, home use, everything.

Alright, my parents are looking for new alternatives, so whoever's reading this and can help the most with informing me on the procedure, I guess you'll get the referral.
