I'll wait for some kind of confirmation(remember all those fired SCUDs, no SCUD fired or otherwise has even been found yet), but if this is a Chem weapons plant I'm glad they got it.
OTOH, if inspections had been allowed to continue, it's very likely that such a plant would have been discovered eventually.

I knew it! 'eventually' Puh-leeze!! That is such a lame response. When is eventually? A month, year, decade? And just what atrocities would Saddam have performed in that timeframe. And how do you know it would have been found. 12 years later and it hadn't been.

conjur, don't let that idiot get under your skin. His only agenda is anti-US. Look at his response to a post of mine earlier in this thread.

He SLAUGHTERED some more of his own people, using helicopters the UN so WISELY let him keep... Wonders why we would ever trust their judgement, it's not as if they haven't been shown to be slow to react before
Why was America criticized by the French for taking so long to participate in ww2? Yes we knew there was a dictator who was using methods of mass genocide, we have to come to realize our error and apologize, we should have acted sooner. We are trying to make up for this mistake right now but are rather confused by your hypocrisy...

Sandorski..
Hmm, the US Commander, Schwartkof(sp), chose not to intercept the helicopters. Lay blame at the right feet.
Notice how he lays the blame for Saddam committing genocide at the feet of a US general, god forbid Saddam should be held accountable for ordering the action.
He has been whining for weeks about the US not acting within UN resolutions, decrying the aboslute essential need for UN approval, not relying on the UN when it suits your needs or interests. In 1991 when the Gulf War was PAUSED by UN resolution, the US and the other 30 countries participating militarily, including his (canada), were instructed by the UN to disengage and not use force unless attacked. This is when Saddam attacked the Kurds. Sandorski feels in this case the US SHOULD HAVE VIOLATED the UN resolution and assisted the Kurds. Notice he doesn't place the blame on any other country, especially his own, that could have also violated the resolution and helped.
So in this war he feels UN resolutions should have been heeded, yet in the last he felt they should be violated, sounds to me like he feels UN resolutions should only be obeyed when it agress with his particualr perspective. This blatant hypocrisy makes your arguement rather comical, but not nearly as funny as how much you hate the US. Your bias blinded you, in your rush to place blame on the US (for Saddam committing genocide no less) you contradicted yourself, maybe you should re-examine the way you process information. If your prejudice against the US consumes you to the point that you can't even make a valid arguement without casting the glare of hypocrisy on yourself you are gong to continue to make a fool of yourself.
