isn't he a recent convert to islam??

was he muslim before joining the army?? did he change his name as a result of his conversion??

Innocent civilians are dying, yet most of the people here are so upset that soldiers are dead, and captured.

I've heard some pretty dumb questions from a lot of reporters...

War isn't an exact science...

Yep, better Iraqi civilians than US soliders. And I hope after all the fake surrender and iraqi-soilder-dressed-as-civilian incidents, the US takes more of a shoot first, ask questions later attitude.

they seem very polite.

True, very polite, but stupid nonetheless. I loved the Apache shot down by farmers question. If you believe that helicopter was shot down by a bunch of iraqi goat famers, you need your head examined.....

I'm wondering who our servicemen, who are over fighting in the name of justice, would disagree with more...the antiwar protesters or ncircle. After reading his garbage that he's littered this thread with, I think I know the answer.

Did Syria not get the memo about the war going on in Iraq? I feel sorry for them and for their families, but for all we know they could have been smuggling Saddam out.

What other "stupid" questions have they asked? I haven't been paying attention.

Read the transcript from yesterday's breifing. They are taking everything the Iraqi Disinformation Minister says as 100% absolute true fact.

...and start paying attention.

flamebait.
perhaps i didnt make myself clear.
i do not care any longer about the iraqi populous, its a pretty safe bet that any sympathy that i had for them was feeble at most.
i *do* care about american servicemen, who are being tricked and tortured, needlessly.
i would strongly support a carpet bombing of that entire country and populated areas.

This is a basic fight between civilization and 3rd world barbarians.
They should be dealt with as such.
These people are not worth Americas blood.

I know that the US forces are not targeting Iraqi TV for fear of civilian casualties....but they should seriously start targeting their antennas and satellite dishes. I mean, the Iraqi Minister of Disinformation if funny and all but this has gone from absurd to grotesque with the display of dead American soldiers and interrogations.

Just a quick point. A suggestion was made in another now locked thread that the ITN news reporter was accidentally killed by British Forces. I'm slightly confused because the BBC says that it was "US forces".

I guess there's still confusion and we should be careful about what and how we say it at this time.

Cheers,

Andy

Not sure if it has been mentioned before and not reading the entire near to 3000 post thread.

What's up with all the helicopters? More people are dieing in helicopters than are getting shot on the ground.

don't they have proximity detectors and radar to take care of this?

I expect so - but when you're hovering low - or there's a lot of air activity then split second mistakes can still cost lives.

I've been in Huey's, Kiowa's and Blackhawk's many times and never felt unsafe at any time. It's a rush you'll never forget, I loved every second of it. I'd put my life in the hands of a highly trained Army aviator before I'd get in a car with some of the idiots in their riceboy cars on this board.

In a dessert during a sandstorm, it can be quite dangerous being inside a chopper.

You don't say? I was in Kuwait in 1990-1991 and back again in 1998. Thanks for stating the obvious. Desserts are pretty dangerous, especially those "Death by Chocolate" ones at Bennigans. I'd hate to see what all that chocolate would do to the inside of a chopper.
