Lotsa religious stuff in there. I don't know why it was supposed to be a "historic" speech, all it sounded like was a pep talk. Also, that translator sucked

Doesn't seem like it was hit by anything, may have landed and the crew escaped. Hopefully that is what happened.

I repeat my opinion that the kid gloves MUST come off immediately and the war fought with as much
force and destruction the US can muster (short of using WMD's of course) or we RISK turning this into another Vietnam and LOSING.

After Vietnam I never thought the US would be foolish enough to fight a war with an ear to public opinion.
The time for worrying about public opinion ended when the US government chose war despite MASSIVE opposition.
You've made the choice for war, now unleash the war dogs. Be honest and admit you've chosen to deliver death and destruction
upon a country (for whatever reason). Now stop pretending you care about the population and just deliver the massive death
and destruction it takes to win a war.

Fight with kid gloves on and you will die and lose. Simple as that.

This is going to be another Vietnam. I can just feel it.

I am not opposed to war, only half-assed wars.

Look at these clowns dancing around the copter lol... Any moment now Coalition forces will deliver a massive air strike on that area, so Iraqies don't gain any new technology from this chopper.

E-mail Bush, we can't help you.

That said, to do that would be insane. Support is quite tenuous, not only around the world, but even in the US. Your suggestion would likely cause neighbouring countries to come to Saddam's aid.

Of course it's insane. The very nature of war is insanity.
Military operations should be conducted by sociopaths such as myself. They would go much quicker with little to no Coalition casualties.
And, yes, I imagine some M.E. would come to Saddam's aid in this instance. That's why you would mercilessly lay the smack down on them also.

This is a war of agression period. The US is invading a sovereign country. Yet, they are deluting themselves into thinking they are simply
parading through a friendly playground only having to deal with a few isolated bullies here and there. Please.

Stop pretending there is anything humanitarian about war and instead deliver death and destruction.

BTW, I would suggest you remember me everytime you don't feel like taking your meds in the morning.

KUWAIT CITY, March 23 -- Iraqi forces ambushed U.S. troops today at a key Euphrates River crossing on the march toward Baghdad, killing an estimated 16 Americans and capturing at least five in two clashes that resulted in the largest number of U.S. casualties of the four-day-old campaign to take down President Saddam Hussein's government.

CNN's Karl Penhaul who was with helicopter regiment involved in the attack said the helicopters encountered a "heavy, heavy barrage" of anti-aircraft fire in the battle.

He could not immediately say whether all of the U.S. helicopters returned safely to their base at an airfield in northern Kuwait.

Most pilots said they were unable to achieve the objectives of the mission -- to hit the Republican Guard armored brigade, knock out its tanks and pierce its artillery. They spent a few hours in the air defending themselves and trying to get out of the area.

The attack force did not expect such strong resistance from what they thought were mostly civilian areas, Penhaul reported.

He added that pilots were "somewhat dazed, somewhat stunned" by the level of Iraqi resistance they encountered.
