I would actually disagree with the this. Buffalos line was not the facter that won them the game. Rodgers was just plain off, and so were the receivers. Normally i give credit to the defense for doing that to the offense, but if you watched the game, there were lots of throws where Rodgers just plain missed the throw or the receivers drop balls that hit them in the chest. They had 13 drops on the year before the game and had 7 in the game. You can't credit the defense for that, because the offense executed the play as designed. Take away a couple of those and packers win the game. I can credit the DB's though because they had great coverage most of the game and had several near int's on top of the 2 they did get.

cool! When the bears played The Bills I knew there was a real team in there and Even Orton has a few ducks to throw left.

Observations from yesterday:

1. Seattle is the best team in the NFL and second place may not be close.
2. Kaepernick is not NFL starting material for a championship-caliber team. SF needs to move on.
3. The Packers likely cost themselves a shot at the SB with that loss to Buffalo.
4. The Colts are done. As it stands now, I think they would lose to either of the current wildcard teams (Pitt and Baltimore). That performance against the Texans yesterday was really, really weak.
5. RGIII had a decent game -- let's see if he finally got a clue or if this was an outlier.
6. Washington should cut Santana Moss for that outburst.

santana moss lost his cool and he manned up. i have no problem with it after the fact. he apologized to his teammates and he apologized on tv in a good 6 minute interview with him in the post game. he talks about how he screwed up and he knows it, and he shouldn't let it get to him like it did, and that he needs to keep his cool. everyone makes mistakes, and he owned up to it. i have a lot of respect for him doing that.

1. Nah, I think NE is best in the NFL right now. Seattle struggled in that 1st half much more than they should given how bad SF has been doing.

SF still has a good defense, #3 total defense in NFL. They've played everyone tough except Denver and Oakland. And Seattle is back to grinding out wins. They'll continue to win by 10 or less, but the margin might as well be 21+ with that defense. Can't wait for SEA vs PHX. So much on the line...not just the division but number one seed.

I think Harbaugh is a pompous loud-mouth d-bag, but getting rid of him would be idiotic given the way he's turned them around. On a selfish note, having a rival like that has been great for the Hawks.

The Niners need to con some other team into taking Kaepernick.

maybe a swap to KC for Smith?

But knowing my Redskins, they will offer to trade RG3 for 1 year of Harbaugh and the rest of Kap's contract.

The Skins will suck next year. Regardless, Kap will be franchised, Harbaugh will be fired and replaced with Rex Ryan, and RG3 will be MVP in SF, on their way to winning the Super Bowl.

It's 40º and rainy in Chicago tonight. Don't get your hopes high. Mine aren't.

I thought the 49ers were going to lose by 30+ points, so they had that going for them. I couldn't even be bothered to watch the game. Short of Kaep having some awakening this off-season and chalking up this to a pocket passer growing pains, we need a new QB.

Man, the Packers, wtf?

Yea, I agree that they are playing well as of late, and if you read what I said, I gave them props for playing well on D and how Teddy B has progressed since we last played them, and he was referring to yesterday's game...they simply didn't play very good at all, and neither did the Lions.

It was an ugly game with all the missed tackles by Detroit and huge 3rd downs we allowed Teddy B and boys convert on us.

But that turned out to be the game-loser for them. Had they made it, then they would have went up by 4, forcing us to score a TD to win. Consequently, we made a FG, went up by 2, and ended up winning by that margin

I should have elaborated, i thought the Vikings D played very well and that Bridgewater other for those 2 picks wasn't bad at all for a rookie facing the #1 D in the league. Interesting to see that Buffalo had the same type of success that the Lions had versus GB earlier in the season.

I won't go too hard on Teddy B...that dude was playing yesterday, and he's a rookie and that's why those two picks happened the way they did (one was over thrown, and the other one was thrown behind the WR)

He outplayed Stafford, which was ridiculous. 31-41 for over 300 was a pretty darn good outing for Teddy B. They played the perfect offense by dinking and dunking, not letting Teddy kill himself by throwing bad picks, though he ended up throwing 2 back-to-back...it was obvious to see why they played the short game with him.

We should have actually lost -- that blocked FG was probably the luckiest play all year seeing how we won WITH a FG.

Murray to have surgery on a broken hand... Hope Dunbar can keep up the good, limited, play he's had.

Also, NE is better than Seattle.

And, Santana Moss should be cut some slack. The guy is from the U and that was a questionable call. His team is doing poorly, his QB is being blasted by the coach, and he wants nothing more than to win. He even came out and apologized for it.

Believing in Sanchez? Let's remember that he's a backup QB. The majority of NFL teams would be lucky to have a backup of his caliber. Do you remember what Weeden looked like for Dallas? Or maybe Brad Johnson for Dallas a couple of years ago? Despite the fact that he threw a game-ending pick while I was typing this message, he's been pretty successful for a backup.

Damn, Deek, how closely were you watching that game?

Sanchez stunk it up, time after time after time. Whether is it was falling back into a sack instead of stepping up in the pocket, or going down too easily in the the pocket for a sack, or not seeing open receivers, or, time after time, missing a wide open receiver with what should have been an easy throw, including when he threw the first of his two back-breaking interceptions, or his second WTF and back breaking (ok, he'd already helped break the Eagles back by that point) interception, he really, truly stunk the joint out.

Now, I'm not saying the Eagles are a first tier team which would otherwise be destined for greatness, no. Insisting on continuing to single up and play man with Williams and Fletcher, including on Dez Bryant, ugh. That was a recipe for failure.

There have been times when both dbs have played well enough, but never consistently enough.

Now back to Sanchez. That guy has an absolute talent for turning over the ball at the very worst times. At this, he excels.

Jimmy Johnson once cut a guy for falling asleep in a team meeting.

Probably some disposable player who was used to make an example. I doubt Emmitt Smith would've been cut for napping.

And, dammit, I keep forgetting that I no longer have ESPN and can't watch MNF.

And Cutler with an interception! Go figure. The Bears need to do something. Fire the entire team, IMO. Just get rid of everyone and start over.

Not really. Team is crazy vanilla tonight playing tons of youngins including Vereen who is awful in coverage. Bears are playing for experience and a draft choice and thats ok with me.

Cutler needs to play better so we can trade him.

Cutler is done, tired of defending him at this point. This team looks so fucking pedestrian on offense, it's ridiculous. It looked like they were in slow motion ...

I think the problem is nobody gives a shit in Chicago anymore. At least, it sure looks like it. They either need to get coaches that care or players.

And RG3 starting against the Eagles! I hope he shreds them, personally, because fuck the Eagles. And Houston... Do they even have a QB on the roster?

Everything you hear about Drew Brees just makes it seem like he works harder than everyone else to be great. You almost feel bad that he is so small. If this guy had the body of Jamarcus Russell, he'd be the greatest of all time.

They kept their aging defensive players too long, let their o-line get horrible, same thing has been happening with the Steelers albeit slower.
