I'm not much of a cat person, but my dad mentioned getting my mom a Chihuahua for Christmas! We didn't though, that would have been awesome I miss our Chihuahua, she died October of '01 I believe....gosh, I can't remember anything anymore.

Since my birthday (December 19th) and Christmas are next to each other, I'll tell you what I got for both.?

Birthday - December 19th

Xenocide - By Olson Scott Card, the 3rd book in the Ender's Game series
Some Andes Mints Chocolates
Imation 50 Pack CD-R Spindle
$100 USD

Christmas - December 25th

Speaker for the Dead - By Olson Scott Card, the 2nd book in the "Ender's Game" series
Children of the Mind - By Olson Scott Card, the 4th book in the "Ender's Game series
Xbox Live Starter Kit
Splinter Cell for Xbox
Some Andes Mint Chocolates, and some other candy.
$100 USD
A "Dream Cars" organizer, with a calender, and some other junk.
Some weird black dragon-like shirt I'll never wear

What I'm supposed to get, but havn't yet...
Xbox Controller Type-S, my friend and I never had the oppertunity to see each other, he has it, and I will be getting it shorty I assume.

Since I already own "Ender's Game", the 1st part of the series, and "Ender's Shadow", the 1st companion, I'm only missing the 2nd companion in the series, Shadow of the Hegemon, which I will pick up at a later time. Meanwhile I am still working on "Ender's Shadow", which focuses on another character in the Ender's Game series. Its a great book and series, and I recommend it to anyone who has the time to read the series. My christmas is going decent so far.

Well... thats all I guess...

Merry Christmas everyone!

Amazingly, I got NO socks or underwear. One sweater, a pair of jeans, a pair of shorts, a shirt, some snacks, some pancake mix, a Calvin & Hobbes book and a little multimeter. And an insulated lunch-tote bag. My youngest sister also gave me a little Mechwarrior figure set.

I also got one thing I get every year...

The people walking in darkness
have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death
a light has dawned.

The best part of Christmas was spending it with my teenage daughters.

I got an orbital sander so I can do heatsinks flush.
I got a new chair mat. It was cracking.
I got a christmas sock stuffed with things and treats.

Grandma gave A new white short sleve shirt.
Black dress shocks.
$50 cash (no check cause the last birthday check I didn't cash like for 10 months later.)

I got 2 jackie Chan movies the one where Jackie is dancing and singing 'War' version one and 2.
I got Lilo and Stitch (I realy love the movie, 'Mahana.' no one gets left behind or forgotten.
More nifty stuff from the girls and it was the thought that mattered since I didn't really mention what I wanted and another video.

My birthday is Jan 5th and I told my one daughter all I wanted was a hug for each week of the year. And a dollar bill for a keepsake that said happy birthday and her signature and the year and age. Also maybe a foil baloon and a card.

And a super late lunch/dinner. Pre deserts. 4 post deserts. And lots of simple different nice foods. Cheese bread, monkey bread, oatmeal and honey bread. etc. Nothing expensive/outlandish just some was a little time consumung.

Most precious was just being with the daughters. (Well wife also but daughters are only for a short while.

Now I was in the process of buying this setup from Osmo when I lost my job, and had to tell Osmo that I wouldn't be able to get it.
The worst part of the whole thing was telling my daughter that I had lost my job, which meant we couldn't get the guitar.

However, some members (and former members) of Team Anandtech conspired behind my back to purchase the setup from Osmo, who setup a visit to Columbus to deliver it. :Q

What can I say. While my daughter got a fantastic gift of a guitar/amp, I got an even better gift, one that moved me to tears when I tried to explain to my daughter how she came to get the guitar.

That gift being one of the true meanings of Christmas, friends helping friends. To know that I have friends here, who would do this for us, some whom I've never even met, means a LOT, and touches me deeply.

All I can say is THANKS! I will look for opportunities to pay it forward.

I've said it before, and I'll keep saying it, This TeAm is the BEST, no matter what # we are on the charts!

That is just awesome! I am very happy for your little girl and very proud of this TeAm.....no make that community!

I got a couple of DVD's some tools and some money and the best gift of all, watching my kids open their gifts. My 3 year old daughter got everything she wanted from Santa and my 9 month old loved the paper. But the best gift was a simple pair of white gloves that my 3 year old picked out for me so my hands will be warm when I drive to work. 3 years old and a heart of gold that one! Christmas was never this good!

Also, Santa, since you couldn't see fit to making sure that my fantasy football team won the championship this year (which would have given me enough to get my computer upgrade), will you please see to it that my Dolphins win it all this year!

Wiz,
You better hide that coffee or Mech will steal it. Since he didn't get any. :Q

After working Xmas morning I had to get home late...

As for me,
Two hooded sweatshirts
and a wolf fig from my sis.

Other then that, it was a quiet Xmas. Not sure if that's a good thing or not.
