I got really worked up and I'm even rooting for the germans on this match.
How stupid can this sport be that the whole world knows immediately that the ref made a bad call and there's absolutely no way to overturn it.
In this day an age, refs deserve to be exposed. Look at what happened to the US/Slovenia ref, puahaha. True not overturned, but those kind of bad calls should be a mark on their record.
...or use instant replay. As for the complain from others that "oh noes, it'll change momentum" - well a frickin' bad call ALWAYS changes momentum. Get the call right in the first place.
That said, replays can still be used for corruption - look at the Butler game (US college bball) back late last year, Dec 2009 I believe. Refs looked at replay and took away the rest of game time giving them the win. Probably the first time I've seen replays used to make a bad call even worse.
