sdifox please edit your posts instead. It's difficult to read the thread with all these one sentence posts.

Argentina - Nigeria is going to be interesting. Wonder if Argentina can shine despite their coach.

Being a European I tend to root for European teams, but Greece is one of the exceptions. What they play is anti-football and I hate it ever since Euro 2004 which they won - they won each game in the knockout stage by 1:0. Their philosophy is to destroy the game so that neither team has many chances and hoping they can score in a counter-attack or by some lucky goal. And this results in really boring matches. This is how they qualified for this WC too - in the additional games they played Ukraine 0:0 home and then 0:1 away. The average number of goals in their games against good teams is significantly lower than average...

That said, the game actually wasn't bad, thanks to an early Korean goal. Greece had to open up, and Korea played well, which made for a watchable game. But it's obvious that once Greece has to abandon their defensive/destructive game plan, they don't have the quality to do much against a half-decent team.

@sdifox
I have to agree with nCred, I come to this topic and have to go through a whole bunch of your posts like "great shot", "nice save", "good call" which are completely pointless to anyone not having the exact same feed as you have and reading the topic within 20s of your posting it. The referee made like 30-40 calls, how the heck do I know which one are you referring to, by now, there's a good chance you don't know either...

I didnt watch the Korea vs Greece game, but I suspected as much... Im portuguese, and it was pretty much a given that Portugal was going to win Euro 2004, they were just the better team overall... But then came Greece with their "anti football", maintain a 0-0 for ages, and then score a lucky goal on some counter attack... Its ridiculous, anyone could have told you the better team was Portugal, pff!

Glad they are getting their asses kicked, real football is the kind usually played by latin american countries, fast paced, showy, goal oriented, thats what people like to see, not some defensive tactical bullshit

Every FOUR years. That is what makes it precious.

Turn on your tv and watch this game at least.
