One from each group:

B - Argentina v. Nigeria
C - England v. USA - even if it will be hard for me to watch.
D - Germany v. Ghana
E - Holland v. Denmark
F - Italy v. Paraguay
G - Ivory Coast v. Portugal
H - Spain v. Chile

After the England v. USA match, the action is in Group G. This is the proverbial "Group of Death" and all of the games in this group will be massive.

I'm probably going to do the same. My dad really wanted a set of all of the Italy games last year. He managed to record all of them to a DVD Recorder (set top), except the final. I haven't been able to find a decent copy of the 2006 final - you'd think box sets of these would exist.

This year, I'll be ready, just in case.

now that you mention it...im surprised that there isnt at least a dvd of the final game. all i can find is a fifa dvd of highlight clips for the tourney.

ESPN in the US. Some games will air on ABC.

The official press release says that every match will be replayed after 6pm the same day it was live on ESPN Classic.

I need to find a way to record these things in HD and without DRM, so I can burn my own DVD set. I really, really hate the content protection they use these days. It's ridiculous. What I'm trying to do is for my own purposes, I won't sell it, AND it isn't even commercially available yet it's really hard to do it.

I have an old HTPC, but the HD card in it is burned out - won't tune ATSC or QAM anymore. Seems overkill to have to buy an HD-PVR, but is there any other way using an existing Fios DVR?

And van Nistelroy should have been in the Dutch team, some of their strikers like Kuyt aren't really proper strikers, more like offensive midfields.

Zanetti and Cambiasso also didn't make it into the team, but one would expect a couple of stupid moves from Maradona...

Once could make a great team out of players not making the final cut.

His pace is electrifying, but his finishing and crossing are suspect. Still, I would have like to have seen Adam Johnson instead of Shaun Wright-Philips

Granted, I've watched him only in a couple of games, but he impressed me: playing away against Croatia he scored 3 goals in the qualifiers, and against Barcelona in 1/4 final champion's league Arsenal was down 0-2 until he entered from the bench around mid 2nd half, scored one goal and Arsenal just started being more dangerous from that point (the game ended 2-2). Barcelona dominated their ass in the 2nd match, but even there Arsenal's only goal came after his breakaway and his assist. They were all high-profile games. I'm sure the other guys also have merits, but he could really be useful off the bench in the last 20-30 minutes if nothing else. Dude can do 100m in 10.3s, that's almost good enough for olympics semifinals...
