That season was awesome, lthough, ittle Allen Iverson and a team full of defense. People don't remember or never knew that they had even BETTER team D with Ratliff who was both a pretty fair shot blocker AND MOBILE, so he was actively helping his forwards and guards on traps and double teams all over the court, than they more famously had with Dikembe clogging up the middle and wagging his finger on blocks.

The damndest thing is that, when Ratliff went down at mid-season, they came out and won five straight games with second and third string centers Todd MacCulloch and Nazr Mohammed before Larry traded for Mutombo.

That was a TEAM!

Edit: I never doubted the absolute heart of AI ever again. That dude has one massive organ (heart, perv). :thumbsup:

true man, and i never understood why no one ever put a similar team around ai. to fully utilize ai, you need a strong defensive team with some guys that can shoot the 3. ok wait i know, its cause we had billy king as a gm. :/

I think of him as the Ed Wade of the NBA.

I'm glad TB tied the game to get everyone off the hook. I know Phillies fans are pissed, but it's better to have this decided on the field and not a rainout.

SoulAssassin and Kev are at this game. That really has to suck for them, going to stay up til midnight and if they don't resume I'm crashing. How funny would it be if they resumed at 5am and we woke up to go to work and the game was on! Would you call out to work? I probably would do a half day, i.e go in AFTER the game was over.

I know they'll try and resume it later, tomorrow, whenever they can.... Which is why I said "if" they did call it complete (which they could since it's official after 5), obviously that would suck for everyone and MLB would only do that if they had no other options.

(I heard that scenario from Gregg Zaun, who is guest hosting on Sportsnet up here in Canada)

It seems to me that the showers today are the 25 years of Philly tears falling to the field. The forecast they're calling for tomorrow is the baseball gods raining on their parade and the snow on Wednesday is hell freezing over as the Phils finally win another title.
