Yeah, she nicely offset Sammo Hung. And omg, that 2-piece she was wearing.......wow. Uriko's fightscene with Logan was great, so much violence. Some of it was a bit too fast tho, imho. Too bad they had something going at one point in the story line...and yeah, wtf is up with Mystique getting on Wolverine? I loved when she morphed into Rogue. Talk about mindgames, heh.
A buddy of mine nudged me just a couple minutes before that scene. He's like, "If you were having sex with Mystique, wouldn't it be wierd if she like morphed into a guy."

When she morphed into Stryker after making out with Wolverine, we bout died.

I'm going to have to agree with what Roger Ebert said about the movie...Dumb, but good.

It had good action scenes and cool effects and all, but for some reason it just didn't catch my full attention. Maybe I just built it up too much.

Yeah I doubt they can make most of the comic storylines work though, but at least they are adapting parts of the comic storylines and puting it in the movie. It would be impossible to do the entire phoenix saga in a single movie, let alone put wolverine's past and all the other stuff they put in there keeping the storylines intact. I realy liked it plenty of suspense for me, even if i knew they would not die I still got that omg they are screwed feeling multiple times.

just watched ebert and roeper(sp) talk about the movie. both gave it thumbs up but said there were too many character. ebert even said the story didn't make sense (????). i agreed with them on some things, but i guess you can only appreciate the film if you know *some* background on the comic.

The story made PERFECT sense to me! Were they watching the same movie?

Some answers to questions and comments. Sorry about not quoting, I am lazy!

1. Good point about Rogue getting the white hair from Magneto! Very good catch. I believe she gets flying from Ms. Marvel so that's why I was asking when that was.

2. The character Kelly Hu plays is Lady Deathstrike. She is in the comics. She is supposed to be Wolverine's wife and then Wolverine kills her father so she is out for revenge! What I don't understand is how she got healing. Wolverine is a mutant because of his healing abiilty. The rest (adamantium and claws) are because of scientific experiments.

3. When X-Men started doing the Phoenix saga in the comics I thought it was really cheesy. The alien race is really corny like from the Archie comics era. I am very sad they introduced it.

4. Wolverine's Revenge is a video game on all platforms.

5. I wonder if they'll bring in Psylocke?

6. Not sure why made Pyro go bad, but it makes sense since Pyro is *supposed* to be bad.

7. I thought the first episode clearly followed the X-Men universe where as X-2 drifted a lot more (but not too much thankfully).

Everyone ask your questions so we can answer them. That way everyone can learn. When you know the comic book links, it's like a whole new world of seeing the movie.

I am not sure why made Pyro go bad either but the scene in the house where he was staring at the family portrait just seems like he has so much hate within him.

How they'll explain the Phoenix remains to be seen. Will it be a case of spontanious evolution or something else?

They already did! Watch the first movie again and watch Jean Grey's reaction after she's touched by the power of Magneto's mutation machine. Then they mention it in the beginning of X2 in the museum.

What did they mention in the museum relating to the Pheonix? Was that what Jean Grey was talking about to Cyclops about her lack of focus or nightmares of something bad about to occur?

Yeah, and he said something like, "You haven't been the same since Liberty Island . . ."

I saw it last night and thought it was very entertaining. I do have a few questions about the ending:

1) When Jean Grey went outside, she used her powers to flip the switches on the jet to start it, couldn't she have done it from inside?

2) Did she really die? Or is there a chance for her to return in the next movie (if they're going to do another one).

I saw it last night...wow. I was blown away. When Jean became the Phoenix, I just about lost it. Best comic movie...ever.

Never mind...re-read some of the posts about Jubilee.

1. Jean grey did not go out to flip the switches!!! That is just one part of it. She went outside to force the plane up while holding the water back!

2. Did you read anything about the Phoenix on these last 4 pages of posts? She should be coming back, but probably as the phoenix.

Hah! Made it in without seeing any spoilers!

I'm off to see this tonight, and will post my impressions upon return. From what my friends have told me, it contains much 0wnage.

Yea, reading the rest of the posts clears it up. I know nothing about the phoenix storyline from the comics, and they don't really explain it in the movie, unless i just missed that part. *shrug*

Pyro went with magneto and mystique. You saw him in the helicopter at the end. It was pretty obvious he was thinking about changing sides.

The wolverine chick was Lady Deathstrike. Apparently she had Wolverines healing ability, hense the adimantium skeleton (no human could survive it, because basicly they cut you open at every point to insert the metal). I don't know if she was in the comics or not.

if i understood the procedure described in the movie correctly, they have to inject it in you while you are in HOT water, because once the metal starts to cool it can't be molded. that's what makes it soo amazingly painful to do. you can ONLY do the procedure on someone who has AMAZING healing ability, wolverine, deathstryke.

OH BTW, Sabre from the last movie, is he done for good?? that would suck. he was a big part of Xmen.

Now my own personal observations. The guy that played Wolverine was too tall and thin. i always pictured him shorter and swarthier. he should have been shorter than Jean Grey by a lot.

Rogue and Bobby (iceman) will be amazing characters. Bobby should have frozen the water coming from the dam and created an ice dam. he has the ability, but they chose to sacrifice Jean Grey instead, not a good choice.

it was too early to bring Pheonix into the picture.

Xmen is too complicated to explain in 2 movies.

as a movie it was pretty good, as Xmen it left some to be desired.
