As I said I went to my local Blockbuster today and had a look at the Arcade and the Pro they had on display both where 14.2A.I went back in again an hour later thinking that on the off chance they could possibly still be Jaspers and I just had to check the Power connection, but this time I went in the manager was there and she wasnt willing to open them up for me to have a right good look at them.I think I may wait till early next week and go in again to see if they have any more in.But as mentioned Blockbuster looks the best bet for us UK'er just now.

bad luck.....all the blockbusters I rang were more than helpful to open the boxes for me...the store were I got mine from were a little hesitant until I told him that other stores were opening them for me.

Oh, I have been playing COD5 online for the last 3hrs, and not 1 problem so far, and the air coming out of the system is luke warm, the top of the case is still cold to the touch!

I have been looking for a Elite Jasper for a couple of months in the LA area.
The latest numbers I have seen are 844x all rated at 14.2A.
Fry's Electronics and Target seem to rotate their stock most often i think that this is due to them not stocking that many units.
Christmas is coming and time is running out to get one by then.

Which Frys do you hit? I've mostly checked Industry and Anaheim and they seem to update at the exact same times. The turnover rate fluctuates between them but stays relatively equal. At least their stock is always fresh when they get new shipments.

My local BB (Chino Hills) has had the newest stock out of anywhere i've been though. Oh well, i'm going to keep on hunting, keep us posted if you spot a 12.1.

The 2 Fry's that I have been keeping tabs on are located in Burbank and Woodland Hills.

Update from Washington DC:

Picked up a Jasper yesterday at the Best Buy on Wisconsin Ave in the Tenleytown neighborhood. I was able to find a 0845x (FDOU) PRO on top of a bunch of older models, mostly 0836 that have been there for a couple months. No jasper elites, and I didn't check the Arcades, but considering that I found a PRO jasper, it's probably a good chance they got some newer jasper Arcades in as well.

On a personal note, I just want to thank JasperHunter for starting this thread and the original. I was just about to buy a 360 about three months ago but found his jasper threads first and was able to use the information his threads provided to make an educated purchase. So thanks JasperHunter!

I bought a 845X FDOU Pro last week at Target when they had the $40 gift card deal. The manufacturing date was 10/30/2008, and it had 14.2A listed on the console itself. While there was a chance it was a Jasper, I knew that it was most likely a Falcon so I didn't even open it. I bought it with the hope that I could swap it for a Jasper whenever I found one.

I was back in the store today and found another 845X FDOU Pro, but this one was manufactured on 11/04/2008, and had 12.1 listed on the console. The sticker on the box was exactly the same as the other one I bought, so that was no help.

I took the one I bought last week back to the store and swapped them - it worked great. Target has a $30 gift card offer this week through Saturday, 12/20, so if you are in the market for a Pro, you might consider buying whatever they have on the shelf and then holding out to see if they get a Jasper in the next few weeks. If you need to have a console to wrap for Christmas, you can still use the Falcon as a proxy.

Congratulations BlackJack !!! , I know you have been waiting a while as well.
I'm glad you continued to hold out for what you wanted.

The Pro's are much harder to find at this point.

Did you manage to get a 150W power supply since it was manufactured in November ????
I would have thought that the supply of Falcon "bricks" would be pretty low at this point.

Thanks, I'll get a Arcade because I want to install the NXE to the memory chips not the hard drive.

Got a Jasper(Arcade) from Dell with 20% off retail. It cost me $167 with shipping. Considering I originally tried to wait for Falcon, getting Jasper after waiting another whole year is pretty nice (I'm still beating the latest PS2 and PC games...no rush).

It was listed as XGX-00019 on Dell's site.

So not even one verified Jasper Elite then I take it? I went though the thread the best I could and didn't *see* anything, wondering if I missed it.

One was said to have been seen, but not one purchased yet. I have been hoping someone would cave and pick one up to see what the power supply looks like on the box. Everyone I have seen says 14.2A.

My falcon elite lists 16.5a on the back. It makes me wonder if some of the new elites are in fact jasper but nobody is buying them due to it still listing 14.2a

UK Jasper hunters

I'm getting pretty cheesed off at the lack of Jaspers in the UK. Luckily some have found them at Blockbuster and the staff seem spot on. Even worse, I am waiting for an Elite and I have not seen a single decent sighting. Looks like it is going to be after Christmas at best. Gonna have a look at the Blockbuster website and see how their bundles look. Also, anyone know there returns policy? Game have a 1yr return to store for an instant swap which is why I wanted to get mine from them. Gamestation have a pathetic policy and ask you to send them back to Microsoft yourself. If Blockbuster have a decent returns policy (something like Game) then I will be going there.

I really think that some of the Elites must have the old labels. We need to see the power connector.

I am going to Best Buy Tomorrow. If they have any Elites that are 844 or newer I will man up and buy it regardless of the amp rating. I'll check the power connector, post what I find, and return it.

Try phoning your local Blockbuster and asking them, prolly quicker than asking here. But they do appear to be the only British retailer who is guaranteed to supply a Jasper at the moment. BTW, the Jasper Arcade box uses the SKU XGX-00023 which Blockbuster have in their system as XBOX-360-ARCADE CONSOLE (2ND RELEASE) and John Lewis too (although we haven't heard of them getting stock yet).

This is the same box that I saw at GAME last week, but couldn't see the details on the side; however, if you find a new style box (icons not text on the front, that says "256 MB Memory" instead of "256 MB Memory Unit") and it is batch 0843X from team FDOU and is SKU XGX-00023 then its a British Jasper -- no reports of these codes having the odd Falcon mixed in.

If the UK follows the US pattern, and there's no reason to think that it won't, we should see Jasper Pro in the next week or so and then the odd Elite after that.

When I went in to Game they actually offered to look at the LOT number, and then changed their minds (see my previous posts). Both Game and Gamestation (part of the same company) have some very good bundles going. My only issue is that you cannot get the online bundles in the stores. I hate ordering from the internet as I quite enjoy the actual face to face way of doing things. I looked on the Blockbuster website and they do not do Elites! It may be that I have missed something, but I couldn't find them. The Asda that I use still has not shifted those consoles from a week or so ago, so they are still in the 830s across all SKUs. I got word from a warehouse though that supplies a big chain and they said that they are only upto the 830s also. Could be older stock, but not good news. My local Empire Direct had one Elite 834, and my local Gamestion has an Arcade 842x. I am determined not to cave in, I will get an Elite Jasper if I have to wait another 2 months. I drives me crazy that I have been following every Jasper thread on every blog/news site and I am still waiting. I really do think that there are some Elite Jaspers being used right now. It is just that they are using older labels.

Might pop into blockbuster on my way home tomorrow.

If I order online from Game, will they let me return the console if it is not Jasper? Do they charge? Part of me feels like just continually ordering and returning Elites until I happen across one. Thoughts? Perhaps they allow you to return online items to the retail stores, if so then I may give it a shot.

That's the spirit. Somebody needs to carry the torch for those of us that have laid them down. Let us know what you find.

FYI: I was able to find a few Jasper Pros and a ton of Arcades at my local Best Buy yesterday (Whitehall, PA). I bought a Jasper Pro. It lists 12.1 with a build date of 11/17/08. I opened the box and verified the new-style power input, too. There was a display in the front of the store with dozens of 360s, but they seemed to all be Falcons. The Jaspers were back in the aisle. Good luck with your hunting!

I finally got my Jasper yesterday at the Best Buy in Beavercreek, Ohio. I had to settle for an Arcade with an 120GB hard drive. I got an 844x, 11/5/08, CSON, 12.1A. But they still had Arcade falcons even. They had A LOT of TMEM elite repacks, and some Pro repacks while most were also falcons. Someone else at some point was also looking as two of the boxes had been torn. So I pretty gave in to the Arcade as most were old. Ohio it seems is pretty behind in stock.

I also like the fact that unlike some others here, I can still use the MU with the hard drive installed.

Thanks for everyone's help over the last few weeks!

I think that these Japser units are pretty quiet. I have it in my entertainment stand and during a 2 hour MK vs DC game, it got warm but it never got loud. The dvd drive is also pretty quiet.

EDIT: Forgot to add the the PSU is 150w. I kind of think it is lighter than the old falcon one that my friend has, though it is the same size =(

I just recently purchased an Xbox 360 Pro at the local target in my area. The lot # was 843X by team CSON, but the Serial # proved the 360 to be an 844. I peaked inside to look at the amp rating and it said 12.1A so I was pretty sure I finally got my hands on a Jasper, but when I opened the box to look at the power brick it clearly said 14.2A with the wattage of 175. I checked the layout of the power connector and it proved to be a falcon. Also, i might add that the disc drive was silver instead of white. So, i guess the question I'm trying to ask is shouldn't the power brick also say 12.1A since the 360 itself says 12.1A?

Not necessarily. They're going to have more 14.2A power bricks than 12.1, so to cut costs, they're shipping out the 14.2As before they start production of the 12s. It's pretty common as well, and also, it's been happening since the first revision.

Also, the higher the PSU, doesn't mean anything. It's all what's on the 360 itself.

Think of it this way, a PC has a 420 Watt PSU, and it only needs 300 Watts to run. The 360 only needs, what, 150 Watts for the Jasper, and using the Falcons 175 Watt will work just like the 12.1A/150 Watt PSU.

The white DVD drive is a standard feature of the Xbox 360 Arcade and is not specific to Jasper. A Xbox 360 Pro / Elite Jasper *should* have a Silver DVD drive bezel.

I know you've said you checked the power connector, but maybe you should double check, the difference is not that great...

See the images here: http://www.anandtech.com/gadge...howdoc.aspx?i=3472&p=3

If the top bar has the "split" power connector piece like the image shows in the link above, then you definitely have a Jasper, regardless of whether or not your power brick says 175w / 14.2A or 150w / 12.1A.

The fact that your console says 12.1A though says to me that you've almost definitely got a Jasper. But the power connector will confirm for sure.
