**Official Xbox 360 Jasper Hunting Thread**

I've seen 41's at various places in Oakville for a while now. I've even seen 43 Elites at Walmart at Square One, and this was a week ago, I haven't checked since then because i've been busy with christmas festivities.

We unpacked my son's jasper today to replace his XBox1 from several years back.....he is happy !! I added a few HomePLug ethernet bridges to get wired internet to the game consoles....tho only 14 Mbps...still fast enuff to play...

Although I was never able to get a picture of it (Unit was gone by the time I came back) I am still 100%, absolutely, positively certain the Elite I saw at BB had a 12.1 amp label on the unit itself. I was specifically Jasper hunting (for an arcade, otherwise I would've obviously bought the elite) and looked very carefully.

Having said that, it must have been a misprint or mislabel or something, because from what I can tell not a SINGLE other unit has popped up. I sincerely doubt Best Buy in Tucson, AZ had the sole unit in the US.

Walmart in Macedon, NY is where I got my Jasper a month ago but today they had Falcons. Circuit City in Heniretta had a week 42 Jasper today but they want $45 for a 2 year service plan. Not thanks. Target across the street today had a week 45 Jasper (a few) and $19 service plans.

Hi all,

today I received a very strange Xbox 360 Pro bundle (Kung Fu and Indy) from Amazon Germany (I will post pictures at a later stage). It is Lot 836 team ADUE, the console itself is 842 manufactured on October 14th 2008. The amperage is 14.2 A and is produced by FDOU (84205). The Power connector on the consloe is the Falcon one and also the power brick is 175 W. I'll give you wattage readings later. Ah, by the way it seems to have the Delta fans.

I'll keep you updated, but what is strange that there is a 842 console in a 836 packaging??

I also measured the weight but my balance has a maximum of 2 kilograms and this Xbox is definitly more heavy, so no exact figure.

I'm buying a 360 on Friday and hoping to get a Jasper. I was going to buy the Holiday 360 Pro but I'm thinking maybe I should go for an Arcade instead because they seem to have better odds at being a Jasper.

I know it's off topic but if anyone knows a good deal on a 360 I'd like to see it. Best Buy is advertising a $50 gift card with the purchase of a Pro or Elite. Right now that's my first choice unless I find a better deal before then.

That's interesting. You guys outside of the city have better fortune then, because that hasn't been the case around the GTA since I checked Friday of last week. The numbers I was use to seeing got older. Hopefully the Lot numbers remain that high and get even higher around your area.

I played COD for a little while last night, during which the console remained cool to the touch and blew out slightly warm air from the back; Great thus far. I then left my xbox running over night to let it charge up my new plug & plays in prep for my family get together on Christmas day. When I woke up and checked the console, it was still very cool to the touch and then some, and the air blowing out the back was faintly warm, cooler than when I was playing COD (no surprise). Fans work quietly, but as usual the disc drive was a little too loud for my tastes.

IMO based on the unit I got, the latest Falcon models from CSON made from october and later can pass until MS releases the slim line version of the xbox. I doubt that it's worth more of my time to pass on this box and keep looking. Either way, I still have 30 days and some time off from work to evalute my purchase. When your girlfriend starts to suspect that you are cheating on her with someone named Jasper, you know the hunt has gone far enough.... lol.

I think he was trying to relate him being the first to find a pro and the fame he got from it to what would have happen if the other guy was to be the first to report an Elite. You had to |READ| (=read between the lines) to get that one.

My 360 needs 89 to 90 Watts in initial setup screen (Dashboard). Could this be Jasper or what is the Jasper's wattage at the dashboard?

I played a bit with my watts meter and here are my measurements:

Fable 2
Videos: 96 W
Ingame (1st level): 116 to 122 W

Assassin's Creed
Videos: 96 W
Intro: 122 to 128 W (short time also 115 W when he lays on the table and looks to the ceiling)

Dashboard 90 to 95 W

Also I made the flashlight check. I have no copper heatpipe and 4+2 capacitors (all silver ones with some blue; looks like these are solid capacitors).

If I sum up:
- Date of Manufacture: October 14th 2008
- 14.2 A printed on console
- 175 W power brick
- Falcon style power plug on console and cable
- Kill-a-Watt measurements
- flashlight check

These leads me to the conclusion, THIS ONE IS DEFINITELY A (late) FALCON 360! :-(

I've never heard of a console marked 14.2 and a power connector on the console being a Jasper. Are you sure the console has the 'split bar' on top inside the power connector? This doesn't add up.

Some have the red ring, but it should be a lot better. If you have (and generally it's available within 30 days of purchase) an extended warranty, I'd not worry about it.
