**Official Xbox 360 Jasper Hunting Thread**

I think I may have had the first jasper to have a problem. I bought a lot 845x pro 12.1A at a circuit city about 16-17 days ago and started to noticed after many random freezes that the textures in games started to get all funky. I tried different games then on a different console and they work fine just not on mine. I was forced to return it where then I stopped giving a shit about what kind I got and just bought a elite falcon. I have yet to hear of a rrod jasper but I know from personal experience they (or at least mine) can still have problems. I would like to see what Microsoft thinks when they get a returned jasper and think to themselves shit we still suck at making consoles and dome themselves off.

American engineering + Chinese manufacturing = problems. With those two going hand & hand it will be difficult. I just hope Jasper will improve my chances of dodging issues with the ill alliance. If it was not for a hand full of games on XBOX I would be playing a Wii right now.

aww come on, my PC has issues too. I love my country, I just think we could go further in engineering logic and common sense (xbox.. good example?). Doing so much business with china is purely unamerican.. not to mention we are directly supporting communism!! Just look around, its quite obvious that we are moving towards socialism and have been for the better part of half a decade. No longer can you equate the USA with freedom and justice, which is sad. You need to wake up little soldier, what freedoms you may have now may not be there tomorrow...I am willing to fight and die for my freedom how about you?

Hey guys, I just wanted to apologize for being MIA for the past few weeks in this thread, but I think it's best that I just formally bow out now. My goal of identifying Jasper and getting myself one has been accomplished and the info for everyone else to do the same is out there. Thanks to all of those that helped me along the way - I can't possibly list them all, so I won't even try. Good luck to all of those still hunting!

Oh Yes. There have been a number of sightings across Europe. In the UK, I hear that Blockbuster Video are your best bet. I know I have come across an Arcade 842x (may not have been a Jasper) in my local Gamestation. I have not personally seen a Jasper though, my information comes from the other posters on here.

Those errors and freezing issues are almost making me want to buckle and just go out and buy an Elite. Chances are I would be getting a Falcon, but if it avoids the glitching then I will be pleased enough. Has anyone else noticed these issues with a Jasper? I know I have seen this before with COD 5 and also Halo 3 on a friend's Falcon.

The hunt plods on in South Yorkshire. Some recent Pros that I have seen were only 828. And nobody seems to have found an Elite Jasper anywhere in the World. Not tried my local Blockbuster yet as I don't think they do the Elites anyway.

This is getting to be a real pain in the ass.They seem to be gettin harder to find instead of easier.Just phoned my 2 nearest Block Busters and they dont have any "Second Release" XBox's.

Like many of the 'originals' on this thread, I'm going to take my bow too. Jaspers are getting easier to find everyday. Enjoy your 360s - I'm sure some of us will be back when the next mobo comes out or MS's next console starts the rumor machine going.

I never got to see which plant made his XBOX while looking at his pics. I got the CSON Jasper Pro.....

Hmmm....I must say, if I had to make a pick, I'd take the solid capacitor Jasper board over mine anyday....simply for the fact it will reduce the possibility of another component's chances of failure. If it had the Delta fans, then I'd guess I'd order some nidec fans off ebay or somewhere else to decrease the noise. The solid capacitors are newer technology too. The owner should feel very good about his system.

That being said, as much as I would like to have a solid cap Jasper board, I'm not going to exchange mine for any reason outside of hardware failure. Shoot, I just finally got my licenses transferred from all the other xboxes I had over the stretch.

....still working on the wife for the IR temp gun. Maybe in a couple of weeks I'll get it and post the results here.

A Jasper Arcade from MediaMarkt Darmstadt-Weiterstadt (Germany).
Lot 0839, team ADUE, manufacturing date 2008-10-09, serial ...84105, Delta fans (man they are noisy), no solid capacitors, 256 MB built in memory, SEGA Superstar Tennis Pack, 12,1 A on 5V rail on console, 175 W power brick.

Picked up a Jasper Arcade at my local Wal-Mart about a week ago. Mid November build date. Out of the 3 Arcades on the shelf, 1 Jasper (which I bought) and 2 Falcons.

My only complaint is that it doesn't have the nice chrome disc drive door that my old 360 had. The white door looks a bit goofy with the silver face plate I have on there.

I took a gamble and ordered from Dell.com the Pro bundle. It came today and I look thru the window and saw 16.5a rating on the console. What is this!? definately not a Jasper or even a Falcon. Lot 841x FDOU 10-10-08 manufacture. I'd had a enough and went to best buy and found two Pro Jasper's each with the same dates. 11-01-08 Team FDOU 845x 12.1a on the consoles. I was disappointed when I opened it because it had Delta fans but I swear when I fired it up it was still slightly quieter than my Falcon it replaced, which had delta fans as well. Have any of you guys modded with Nidec fans aftermarket?

I do hope so; I'm still looking for an Elite Japser at Best Buy.

I go to the store every 3 days to check their floor stock; still nothing, but the manufacture dates are getting closer and closer... last ones I checked were from 2008-10-31.

Yep, still several of us waiting for elite jaspers... heck I even picked up Rockband2 on that crazy toys'r'us deal a few weeks back and don't even have an xbox360

Nothing in my neck of the woods yet. Looking at the standard places (walmarts, best buys, frys, etc.), they all still have older stock of elites though they're into September manf dates at some locations now.

I was also looking for a Jasper Elite but caved in when I realized that it was not going to happen before Christmas.
I bought an 844x at Best Buy which I have been using for a couple of weeks now and could not be more pleased with it; the surround sound and HD picture are fabulous.
I have no regrets.

P.d. Here a member of elotrolado.net forum found a FalconV2 with six solid capacitors. lot in serial number: xxxxxx840xx. pack call of duty ADUE 845.

Don't go! You are responsible for my Jasper Pro that I am using like a banchee! It is quiet--after hours it is quiet and cool. The CD drive on the other hand sounds like it is popping corn.

For you real technical types--is that the norm? I know there is a way to copy the game to the hard drive--How do I do it?

I know this is a bit off topic--I will continue to look for that Elite!

Well, you all are either going to hate me or thank me after I tell you what happened to my Jasper pro just 2 weeks after I bought it. I loaded it up just yesterday with Midnight Club Los Angeles and it Red ringed on me. I turned it off and turned it back on and yet again it happened. I turned it off and unplugged everything to let it set for 5 min. I plugged it all back in to load it up and it worked just fine. I was hoping it would happen again so I could take a picture, but it didn't. I can still take pictures of the 360 if you want to see that i really have a jasper. Trust me. I wouldnt want to be the guy to tell you about this if i wasnt telling you the truth. My plans are to return it for another Jasper since im still within the 30 day return policy.

Specs: 843x Team CSON Manufacture Date: October 30, 2008 175 watt power connector.
