**Official Xbox 360 Jasper Hunting Thread**

Called a Best Buy in Durham NC and I was told they did not have any Elite Halo 3/Fable 2 bundles. He said that none of the stores in NC had the bundle and it was only availabe online. I went into a couple of Best Buys and they had none on the shelves. I did not talk to anyone however.

Then, I went to two Gamestops. At the first location the guy let me look at the sticker on the console. It was an 824. At the second Gamestop, the guy was nice enough to actually open the box and pull out the console to see the wattage. Of course it was 14.2 The date was also an 824.

Stopped at a Best Buy in Orange County CA after work and while they didn't have any new Elites in stock, an employee checked the store computer and told me that they'll arrive on the 17th.

...2 more weeks.

Man this wait is real slow. I really want to pull the trigger this weekend and get to my local game store to purchase an Elite. The guy says I can look at it first to check LOT number, but I don't expect it to be good news if I am honest. The prices have come down nicely and sit at approx £209 at the moment which means I will have a little left over for the play and charge kit etc. But, if they don't have a Jasper I think I will wait. The guy told me that they are out of the red ones too, so I can't even go that route now. He also said that out of the 6 they got in the store 1 of them was broken as soon as the customer opened the box and it got returned straight away.

Sad news from the Orange County (CA) front:

I visited my local Best Buy store today since their website said they had the new Elite bundle (Halo/Fable) in stock... well, they did; but the consoles manufacturing date was July 2008

Same here. I visited several stores, and only Best Buy and GameStop had the new Halo/Fable bundles. But all were from mid-2008. Like "theE3", I found at least one which was manufactured in July 2008. The others were either July as well, or something very close to it.

I just checked Best Buy in Kenosha Wisconsin.. 4x Elite Halo & Fable bundles.. all 0824..

There is a thread at amazon.com with a lot of people complaining about getting Falcon motherboards in their Elite bundles..

I finally broke down this week and just bought a Jasper Arcade - I gave up on the Jasper Elite. I had an old 20G HDD from my original 360 Pro, so at least I have some storage.

Well I don't blame you. Things have almost ground to a halt on the Elite Jasper hunt. Nobody seems to have seen any since those RE special edition ones. bummer. Oh well, E3 is in just over a week so we might get some news then.

Damn I was hoping the bundle with Fable II and Halo3 would be a jasper but from what some people claim online it has just been the older models re boxed with the games. I'm starting to get tired of waiting to get a black elite jasper

It certainly has been a long fruitless wait. Not getting anywhere in the UK. The highest LOT I have seen is 846X, and I have now seen tons of those. I actually believe an 847 or onwards could be Jasper. The ones sighted in Jaspen and Germany were nearer to that number.

Oh well, E3 is but a couple of days away.

Just picked that bundle up from dell, Don't really care if its a falcon. Have a 60GB that i gave to my younger brother when it came out and no issues.

Just a heads up for you guys. I have an arcade that was manufactured in october of 08 and it has worked beautifully. Super quiet and a lot less heat than my previous xbox. If you guys really really want and need a jasper that bad, then I guess you could wait. But just letting you guys know that the revision right before jasper is really good and I'm very happy that I didn't wait out for something that I prob wouldn't notice anyways.

So I walked into Futureshop today in Waterloo, Ontario and the first 60 gig 360 I looked at was a Jasper! Manufactured 2008-11-19. I'm not sure how to look up the lot number but it's nice they're finally hitting the pro models.

I want an Elite though, and they are nowhere to be seen.

I have good news for you, peachy001! I finally bit the bullet and bought an Elite Halo3/Fable2 bundle even though it's a Falcon.

Since I've been looking for a black Elite Jasper for TEN MONTHS and have abandoned my search, this means that we'll probably see black Elite Jaspers in the stores next week...

I'm about to pickup a used 360 elite that has e74 and send it in. What have the been sending back? Are they sending Jaspers or Falcons?

I'm willing to bet you'd get a Falcon. I'm seriously suspecting that MS has not yet made a black Elite Jasper and may not for a long time. If they haven't already, why would they start when they can keep selling special editions like the RE5 bundle, or clearing old inventory of Falcons like with the bonus game repackages?

HA HA LMAO. I'm sorry you had to bite the bullet, anyone that has waited as long as you and I deserve a damn free Jasper Elite. I suspect that some black Jaspers have been made, but none have hit my shores. I don't just check this site, I also monitor a couple of threads on Xbox.com, and nobody has seen one. I can't believe how long it is taking to work them through into stock. I must also thank you for taking one more Falcon out of the inventory, cheers.

I'm sorry you had to cave in, but I fully understand. Luckily (or not) I am pretty flat broke at the moment, so even if I was offered one today, I would struggle to pay for it. Too many damn things keep coming up. Well back to saving and waiting, at least they are not here yet so it doesn't annoy me too much. Plus I still got a friends Xbox to play at my house.

I'm a teacher, and this week we began three months of summer holiday. I was willing to wait months for a black Elite Jasper so far, but I had decided that early June would be my deadline since I'll have more free time this summer.

Well I wish you woulda mentioned that before yesterday. :frown: I broke down and bought yesterday as well. Haven't been looking nearly as long as you have, maybe 4 months.

I also went the arcade route and am adding a hard drive, so sorry I didn't eat up another falcon elite for anybody. Here's a instead.

Hey people, i've been following this thread for a while and it didn't look like it was going anywhere fast . So i decided to go down to my local game shop and pick up an elite anyway.

I asked the guy if i could open the box and look at the console and he said that would be fine. i wasn't expecting much, and i may be wrong (please see the pics), but im almost certain its a jasper!

Obviously i grabbed it straight away, and today i snapped a few pics for a bit of clarification, as well as some hope for you guys

I should also piont out i live in Australia (Adelaide) and the lot # was 912X team CSON

Also, i'm not really impressed with the noise level. i believe my fans are delta's and they have a crappy whining noise.

I had the same issue with my last 2 Jasper 360's. Ended up getting a Falcon elite and im much happier.
