Hello,

i'm french (sorry for my bad english), i live in france in Toulouse (south). Like you, I'm a jasper hunter. Today, i see the new xbox premium (pro) pack with Tomb Raider undeworld. The references are :
Team : ADUE , lot : 0844.
I don't know if there is a jasper inside and do you have an idea (difficult but ...)

Thanks

Team ADUE is generally a repackaging team - so the lot number indicates the date the box was repacked, not the date the console was manufactured. This is probably an older console.

Back to the hunt.

Best Buy Hollywood, CA
Arcade 840
Pro 837
Elite 838 Repackaged - only one in stock. Plan to check back before Christmas and purchase the latest non-repackaged Elite.

Just to re-iterate jlemon's reply, ADUE are a repackaging team that take older 360 stock and repack them into newer boxes that are generally bundle offers, i.e. the Holiday bundle in the US among others. the Lot# on the cardboard box only shows when it was repackaged not when the actual console itself was manufactured.

Console manfacture date and true lot# can be found by looking through the cut-out hole on the cardboard box, the hole is usually closed (looks like a little window flap) but you can see it is cut into the cardboard, push it inwards and you should able to see the consoles detail sticker.

The last sequence of numbers, " ... 82905" means it's a lot 0829 console - built this summer. Sorry.

Actually all 360s have 1yr warranty, they've always had that. The exception is that the RRoD aka (3 red rings) is covered for 3yrs. But despite public opinion, the warranty has never been 3yrs, only that one flaw is covered for 3yrs.

Is there ANY evidence at all that shows adding longer leggs to the underside of the 360 [horizontal placement of 360] helps disipate heat more efficiently? I know some people think that by adding space between the shelf/surface and the bottom of the 360 will help it cool better.

I have some of my kids wooden blocks that would work nicely if there is any proof that this will help keep the system healthier.

????

In my experience it does nothing to provide the longevity of your console.

My manufactured console of 1-23-08 was on top of a storage crate 10 and a half inches from the ground in a small room with a very large ceiling fan blowing on it. Always about 75 degrees in that room probably 2-4 degrees less with the ceiling fan. Even colder in the winter time.

These storage crates are those plastic crates with large square holes in them so it had plenty of room to breathe properly as it was horizontal. Wasn't crowded at all. Still 8 months later wouldn't turn on giving me the 'overheating' light quadrants after not playing it for 3 days.

I'm hoping to get atleast a 'newer' falcon everyone seems to be talking about. Maybe that will last 9 months haha.

Edit:

Since mine was built 1-23-08 I guess the only difference was probably the fact that microsoft had them change the general hardware error (rrod) to only 2 quadrant light (overheating error) so they couldn't take advantage of the 3 year warrenty when it probably WAS the infamous 3 quadrant light error everyone gets (rrod.) Vindictive arn't they.

alot of times when you look in the flap you have to press down on the box (get the xbox to move) so that you can see the needed info.

Does anyone have an idea of what the latest CSON lot numbers are? I'm wondering if anyone has found the elusive CSON 0841 yet. Jasperhunter, perhaps your first post here could include the Team as well as the lot #?

Is it me, or does there seem to be a lot more team FDOU 360's with higher lot numbers floating around at the moment compared to the CSON units?

Pure speculation, but possibly a transition period for CSON?

I believe the last CSON spotted was mtsjtb's lot 0839X/0840 (0839X on outer carton / 0840 on serial #)

We've been stuck there for about a week now.

0842X FDOU's seem to be plentiful on the west coast. Although nobody has put a kill-a-watt to one yet. Those are the newest ones that I can recall seeing anyone post about.

What was supposed to be a geeky night for me... taking the 0837 FDOU apart turned out to be a 3 hour fiasco with Microsoft. ever since I brought the unit home, I could not connect to XBOX LIVE no matter what I tried. The XBOX sees the internet but doesn't connect to LIVE, so I had to go through 3 levels of tech support before they got it working. I still don't understand it, but it finally connected, downloaded the NXE update, yada, yada, yada.

This XBOX is connected to the same ethernet cable as the XBOX it replaced. Absolutely nothing was different. Now, I have to go in my router and open up three ports in the firewall. I didn't have to do it before.....kinda makes you go hmmmmm...

Hopefully I put up pics and post Halo 3 readings tonight. I caught ValeYard on LIVE last night. That was pretty cool...my first XBOX LIVE friend overseas.

All right folks I couldn't wait anymore. Went to Gamestop and got the 1yr PRP. I'm opening up my 839X tonight and hitting some COD4 and Fable II.

Ok, saw one 0842X CSON at the Best Buy in Alpharetta, GA on exit 9 at 8pm today. It was an Arcade with a manufacturer date of 10/11/08. Best Buy has a stack of Arcades, Pro and Elites right up front and I spent 15 minutes looking at every one. People thought I was crazy. The highest elite was FDOU 837, the pros were 0839x and below. There were a lot of repacked TMAE (or something) from Mexico. Who is Microsoft kidding with that stuff?

P.S. Did not buy as I want a pro or elite.

Oh, and the Best Buy store up in Cumming, GA was bringing out elites with Gears of War graphics on the back of the boxes but they were FDOU with a manufacturing date of 9/11/08 and 9/10/08.

Played a good 1.5 hours of COD4. Not noisy at all really when you install onto the HD. Still not as quiet as a PS3, but its nothing to get bent about. I'm pretty happy w/ the purchase. The 1 yr PRP gives me peace - I'm sure Jasper will be here in a year. And in the meantime? I'm kickin' it baby !!! Darrell, Jasperhunter, any of the regulars from Seattle Blog, PM me and I'll share my gamertag.

Just got a new 60GB Holiday Pro Bundle from Dell.

MFG Date: 15 Oct 08
LOT: 842
14.2a
175W Brick

Running cool, but upgrading to XBE was not fun. The XBOX would see the internet but would not connect to XBOX live. Finally got the update and am impressed with the new interface.

Darn, you should have pushed the box out of the way and tried to view the amperage rating on the back of the console. CSON consoles in the 840s range were the next rumored Jasper candidates. Could have checked if it was lower than 14a.

I have decided to wait till next year when this holiday bundle stops. I'll just save my pennies for a long time so I can renew my PRP or even buy a whole new second console since it dropped in price.

I don't like all the talk about repackaged Xbox 360s and going down there and ending up having to choose something bunk because it's all they had in stock or customer service doesn't let me choose my own console for some reason when I claim my PRP on my currently dead console.

Hopefully in 2009 they will be "Jaspers" or something. I really hate microsoft with a passion now for making these consoles so fragile at such high prices. Seriously, $349.99 for a console that lasted 8 months with the only vindication being I spent an additional $59.99 for a PRP that lasts 2 years. Some people deserve to be shot.

Besides, the Xbox 360 has lost it's fun factor since i've quit smoking and beat every game I have nearly to death while all these new games comming out are increadibly short or increadibly boring for the $59.99 price tag.

Will check on that and post later. The back was different from all the others that I have seen online. I am a 1st time 360 owner and was tempted to wait a while, but the 15% off through Dell was too good to pass up.

So far so good.

UPDATE - it was made by team CSON.

Came over a couple of days ago, just got round to signing up.

Keep hunting, and thanks for all the effort everyone is putting in. As I mentioned on 8Bit's blog, I cannot get much information here in the UK as most of the game shops keep the actual boxes in the back and won't bring them out unless you actually make a purchase. But I'll keep trying. Should anyone get some news, please feel free to pm me.
