**Official Xbox 360 Jasper Hunting Thread**

Is it just me, or does the power connector on AF XBOXER's console not look like my 0839X CSON? I have some shadow in mine that his does not, but I just double-checked in person and I don't have any of the extra plastic in the middle that seems to be in his connector. Clue?

Better photos would help everyone here make better conclusion, try using a camera with a macro mode to get infocus closeup shots of the serial label.

judging by the photos, there does appear to be a difference in the middle.

When I look at AF Boxer's photos, it looks like a reflection....possibly coming from a camera flash??

Better photos would help. AF Boxer, you willing to snap some more shots? Maybe some with and without flash.....

Maybe taking pics of the connector that goes into the socket on the XBOX...??

For what its worth, MS may be falling victim to its massive sales numbers here. They just passed 25 million consoles. Even if they had the industry average 3% failure rate, you're still talking 750k bad consoles. People don't go on boards to discuss how long their system lived - they go on boards to complain about the ones that died.

Now, Falcons are estimated around 10%, *and that's not good for sure*, but the odds are you will still be okay. And, if not, who cares? Keep your HD, buy a arcade for 200 bucks, ebay your warranty repaired 360 when it comes back. Very little out of pocket - and you got to have fun in the meantime.

I wanted Jasper like all of you guys do - but in the end what I REALLY wanted to do was play some games. IF my system dies, Jasper will more then likely be out and I probably won't have to go crazy looking at Lot numbers to make sure I got one.

I am certainly no photo expert, but my personal opinion is that it's not a reflection. The two photos are taken from slightly different angles but the "stuff" in the middle is reproduced the same. That would be unlikely (but not impossible) to happen if it was a reflection.

It looks to me like there is something there.

In any case, clearer photos and photos of the male end of the plug would certainly be helpful, like you have all suggested.

I agree I *don't* think that's just a reflection, it looks like there is something in between the two rows of pins. Maybe we're onto something! Better photos would definitely help.

No- The picture that Soundtweaker highlighted did NOT come from AF Boxer, it was a Falcon comparison picture posted by mtsjtb.

RRoD- Great comparison. However, I believe that the bar that you circled in blue at the top of the plug can still be very lighly seen in AF Boxer's photos. It's very hard to see because of the picture quality and shadows.

I think we won't know much more until we can get better pics.

I think the image posted by AF boxer is the same as the other image you can see the top part of the connection in both pics its just that AF's image is of lower quality and the part in the middle is just an artifact from the bad quality aswell.

Hi guys, been following 8bitjoystick's blog since my box died on me 3 weeks ago. Bought it in March and it froze up on me. I knew about the Jasper coming, but just couldn't wait.. Well I plan on buying a new box before the end of the year when MS's money back offer ends. So, I'm just holding out for a Jasper as long as I can, especially since AF Xboxer's post made me hope for the impossible again.

Anyway, I'm here to provide some info on the Dutch side of Europe. I live next to a gamestore (Gamemania) and am pretty good friends with the owner and employees. They've been letting me know when new boxes arrive and have let me peek into the window of each and every one of 'em.

Surprisingly, the Pros are moving faster than the Arcades and I don't think they sold an Elite this entire month. The Gears 2 and CoD packs have all been repacks. The last CoD pack they got in was yesterday:

That wasn't encouraging at all, but I still have some hope because we have a holiday coming on December 5th and then, of course, there's Christmas..

I went to two different Home Depots today, and neither one of them had the Kill-A-Watt. At one of the stores the guy checked on the computer, and apparently the Kill-A-Watt is now an online-only item.

I'd order one from Newegg, but they're currently out of stock.

I am getting super exited about AF XBoxer's machine. The power connector is different guys. It's different!

AF Xboxer, if you could, please confirm that there are 3 horizontal 'notches' seperating the top 3 connectors with the bottom 3 connectors. And also, if you could, is yours a 0842 CSON machine or a 0842X CSON machine?

agreed, the low res photo from AF Xboxer's system looks different (and interesting). alas, no reason to get excited yet. we need more photos at higher res that aren't blurred before we have anything.

AF Xboxer, please help with the following, since you are the only one that has reported a CSON 841x+:
1- upload an array of photos at higher resolution, with and without flash (with only the SN# blurred)
2- and, would be ideal if you could use a kill-a-watt to capture power usage during gameplay and post your findings

ANYONE with a CSON 841x or higher 360, please post pictures and/or kill-a-watt readings. this could be exactly what all of us are waiting for . thanks in advance from all of us...

Interesting! From #842x FDOU Acrade have a ampere reading label as 12.1A on the console. The lot number showed on console match with the stick on box. (#842x)
Don't know the power brick data as I haven't buy it yet. I found it in Frys City of Industry in CA. There is around 10 #842x Acrade sitting there.
The box printing looks the same as the previous, there is a batman picture on the back of the box. Anyone who live close that area can go ahead check it.

This make me recall in 8BitJoystick forum, there is a guy post a 12.1A picture on it (almost the last page of the forum) but then don't know why he said it is joking as his brother make.......

On the other hand, FDOU #840x Acrade and FDOU #841x Pro are all labeled as 14.2A.
It looks that there is any hardware console revision, I am now thinking is it will be Falcon v4, label mistake or jasper?

Did anyone have the xbox360 with FDOU or CSON 842x or above? if so, can you take a look what the ampere on the console? (Since as I remember, I have ever seen some #842x has 14.2A too last week but forget what place and what version.)
also, is quite, cooler and NXE preload?
Any different data when using kill-watt testing?

Hi. I've followed this thread since its appearance on seattlepi.com, as I'd really like to buy a 360. But I'm getting tired of waiting for the Jasper to show up , I live in France, and the highest lot number I've seen so far is 0833 (I guess so, as it has been manufactured 08/14/08, as seen in the little window of the box. The lot number on the box is 0844, team ADUE)...

Can someone tell me if those lots (0833 & 0832) are more quiet and reliable than previous models? I've read that V3 Falcon have been found, am I sure to get one if I buy a Xbox manufactured in august?
