This is Game I was talking about, a whole different story. This is the store that intentionally goes around buying all games/consoles in their competitors stores that are on any sales, just so customers could not get that deal and be forced to pay their rip off prices. (and they act like they are doing us a favor by doing it too which makes the whole thing exponentially worse IMHO)

I went there as I assumed they would be accommodating, and know what I was meaning by Jasper. I was wrong.

I wont be going into Game stores again (and that is not because of this, its because of the reason I mentioned first regarding hoarding of stock from other supermarkets/gamestores).

Does anyone think it has something to do with the X.You know like numbers 0843 isnt a Jasper but there is a good chance 0843x is?

PS: 175W, 12v 14.2a (Console says the same above power connector)


Came with a 256 external memory unit

Doesn't appear to be a jasper since its suppose to be 150W, 12v 12.1a

I would say look for nothing less than 10-23-08 or your wasting your time


This is a falcon.........this was posted on xbox.com forums..the guy who has a jasper, his date of manf is 10-23-08, same team, same lot number just 1 day out!

So, yes, a very easy way to tell a Jasper from a non-Jasper. I don't know if that means that you have a Jasper in your hands if you're holding a Pro and on the box it says that the Arcade has 256MB..

Arcade consoles have been coming with a 256 memory card in the box for a while now, so that's not a reliable way to look for a Jasper....

And for everyone else worried about Jaspers and Falcons existing with the same lot number, well, we've waited this long, perhaps it's safest to wait one more week and hope 844s and 845s are ALL Jaspers.

Hello everyone from Spain!!
I've been looking to buy a 360 lately but I want to hunt a Jasper. No luck yet.
I've found:

- Pros with COD:WAW
Team: ADOU
Lot: 0845

- Pros with Gears 2
Team: ADOU
Lot: 0832

- Arcades
Team: FDOU
Lot: 0829


I've seen so much numbers today... ...I think those are correct...

Are ADOU 0845 possible Jaspers??

For those of you in Toronto, are you guys looking at other places other than at Best Buys?

I find that in the GTA area, the only place that has lots of units out that can be inspected one by one is Best Buy, most other places don't have them lying around.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could let me know where else you guys are checking. Thanks!

Bought an Elite at Fry's Electronics in Burbank today
FDOU 843X
Opened it and found that the power plug from my launch Xbox360 fits into the socket.
I powered it up to the setup screen and my Kill-A-Watt read 89 Watts.
I don't think that it's a Jasper, anything else I should try?

Well I thought I would try my luck and pick up a Christmas present today. Went over to Best Buy and picked up a 60gb pro, lot# 0843X manufactured: 10-20-2008 team: FDOU.

Opened up the box, console is marked 203w 16.5a, PS 203w 16.5a, and on flashlight inspection, the original heat-pipe heatsink. It also has the Zephyr plug...I didn't think they were even selling Zephyr anymore. Looks like I got screwed on this one, definitely not wrapping this one up that's for sure.

In North/New Haven, CT it's old stock. Walmart, Circuit City, Best Buy, Gamestop, and Target all had September build dates, except for the GS which had a 10/06/08. Bought 2 copies (1 for a friend) of the Simpsons game (360) for $20 total in anticipation of getting a system.

I think that means its only safe to get the FDOU 844x, nothing earlier, unless you are a big gambler by nature.

Someone here says they have bought a #0849X by Team FDOU.

They shouldn't be. I also can't find any info on consoles manufactured 10-20-2008...so something fishy is going on. I double checked to make sure the serials matched, and they do, so it was packaged and sold as new stock with a zephyr board.

So to anyone else out there, stay clear of 10-20-2008 0843x FDOU.

i got a 10-22-08 0843x team fdou on my 360 arcade.....its definitely a falcon, cause mine has the external memory card and theres a few inserts from holiday 2007 (yes 2007) and one telling me to get the NXE.

i might return this...ugh.

Wow, I haven't heard of a Zephyr being sold as new in a really really long time. I'd love to see pics of that.
A little disappointing that some 0843 FDOUs are still Falcon, although I'm not too surprised. Hopefully by lot 0844, the changeover will be complete.

OK, I just picked up an Arcade bundle today at the Geneva, IL Walmart. It is a 0842x FDOU manufactured on 10/18 and it is 12.1 amp, with the 150w power supply and built in 256 MB of memory. So it appears that the lot # and/or manufacture date is not as important an indicator of a unit being jasper as the actual amp reading (which is what I went by).

What are the 5 last digits of your serial no.? They should be like 842xx where the two x stand for two more digits. Maybe we can identify Jasper looking at these two digits?
