About 2 weeks ago I was seeing units with build dates of mid-July. It's going to take a while up here, methinks.

I wonder what the chances are I'll get a Jasper Elite back from my RROD repair clusterf*ck? It's now been 26 days since my RROD, and MS still hasn't officially acknowledged that they received my console last Monday.

I actually think that the units will be here within this month as xboxes are flying off the shelves. I don't think the manufacturing lots will progress up one week after the other from 0836 onwards. I think there will be a jump to 0840 and upward soon.

That's only my opinion though. let's hope they come soon!

You all should be able to repeat this to see if you get the same with your console. This is a known starting point and everyone can compare if they want too. I don't have halo 3 with me at this time.

Fan noise... I don't seem to notice any. The fans do stay on a little while after you turn it off. Kill a watt says the fans take 63 to 67 watts

I tried this with my newly purchased unit.

Does this indicate that my unit is not a Jasper?

Not sure about the power brick, as I have not opened the box yet. I may wait to see if I can scam a Pro or Elite.

Found it at a Wall Mart in Northern VA--Dulles Town Center. Interesting that I saw a 842x/FDOU with build date of 10-11-08 that had 12.1 also!

Okay, check it out.

I THINK I found a Jasper at the Best Buy of Hamilton NJ.

Lot was 842X, but the serial number ended in 84307. The sticker shows 12.1A next to the serial number. Even though the box sticker is off a week, all indications on the console point to this being a Jasper.

Have not opened the box yet as I'm at work. But I understand, next to the power plug, that the Amps on the sticker is the most reliable way. Mine definitely says 12.1A.

Congrats Jopopsy! I haven't been closely following any of the forums besides this one, but I think that's the first non-Arcade Jasper I've heard of.

When you get the chance, please confirm the amount of on-board memory for us. As you know, some of us suspect that the memory will be upgraded across all models, but I don't think it's been confirmed in anything but an Arcade so far.

It seems like Jaspers have only been seen on the coasts. Has anyone seen a post of someone finding one somewhere in the Midwest? Does anyone else think that's interesting? Before Jasper showed up, the lot numbers I've been seeing in WI were not any older than folks were reporting everywhere else. I'm looking specifically in Madison, WI.

How do I confirm the onboard memory? Is it buried in the dashboard somewhere? Tell me how, and I'll report back.

If the stickers are wrong man I'm gonna be pissed. I've got a lot of running around/exchanging to do. That and the wife has just about had it w/ Jasper and returns and this that and the other thing.

Would you mind letting us know what type of packaging your xbox is? Does it include any games in it? or is it just a standalone unit. Any information would be helpful for the rest of us Jasper hunters.

Jopopsy - Congrats, it appears that you may have found the first Jasper Pro identified on this thread. I would love to get a Pro on Amazon today with the $60 offer, but am concerned that they might still be shipping Falcons.

The safer bet is probably to wait for the $40 gift card offer at Target next week - at least I can look at the console itself before buying.

Dave - I saw two Arcades at a Target in Cincinnati on Saturday that I believe were likely Jaspers. I didn't confirm the amperage, but everything else matched what people have been posting.

Heh, they gave me like 12 or 13 bucks. Now I have to take the combo disk that comes w/ (hopefully) my Jasper 360 and put it in the Falcon 360 so I can return it.

I'm in Ohio, and so far all I've seen are 0841X arcades, 0842X Pros & Elites. So far, all the pro's and Elites have 14.2 amps printed in the "windowed" area of the box.

I can't take another chance...I have to see the amp rating before I pull the trigger now. Even though the return is within the store's policy, I think Karma will bite me in the a$$ if I abuse it.

On a side note, it's good to see a Jasper Pro unit finally show up. I was starting to worry.....
