Hey guys,
Good afternoon!
I've been following this thread for a looooong time. In fact, I've been following JasperHunter's posts since this whole discussion started back in the SeattlePi blog!
Anyway! Here's my problem: I live in Brazil. And here, XBOXes are EXPENSIVE. Imagine, for example, if you had to pay 2400 bucks for an Official XBOX Kit by Microsoft. Insane, right? But that's exactly the price of an XBOX 360 here in Brazil. Since we don't earn our salaries in dollars, it becomes a VERY expensive console indeed!
Of course, the benefit for buying the Official Kit is that Microsoft gives you a 3-year guarantee of replacement for 3RL problems. So you are buying peace of mind, actually.
But NOW... we have Jaspers! FINALLY! And with the Jaspers, the hope of not having to worry with those problems anymore.
So here's the deal. I want to buy a Jasper. There are two ways I can do that:
1) Buy it online;
2) Wait for a friend to go to the USA (there's actually one going on January) so he can buy one for me.
My problems: how to recognize a Jasper? I've followed this thread, but I'm still very bad with hardware and stuff. I know the Jasper needs 12.1A, and that should be a clear sign. And also the DVD drive, from what I've read, is made of white plastic, instead of metal as in other 360s.
Any other clues so I could instruct my friend? Is there any online retailers I could buy my Jasper from in the present? When would be safe to buy from Amazon, for example?
Sorry if I've made any mistakes, english is not my primary language.
