Any1 who is near the Palisades mall area in NY the best buy has about 20 Jasper arcades they got in today if your lookin for them built on Nov 5 lot 845 Pros are still at 836s

Yea BOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! got my xbox 360 Jasper Pro just now at bestbuy, last one they had! went to target first and they had lot 845x team FDOU made 11-7-08 and was 14.2! when i read that FDOU 844x was a Jasper so that was really odd; maybe different assembly line? so got a 842x team CSON the team i wanted, i heard they not as loud.

In reply to Pele's post about what model to get.... I vote for the arcade...add a 20GB drive for now...throw a skin on the white case if it makes it look nicer for you. Headsets and such are pretty cheap on ebay....

My question is.....why would the Jasper detect the optimal resolution differently than a Zephyr Elite, and 3 Falcons (1 Arcade/2 Holiday Pro's)? Do you think it has a new HANA chip inside? Now I have even more reason to rip it open a bit sooner than I wanted to.....

I can't imagine why there'd be any difference in the scaling abilities, but 720p is definitely better than 1080i IMO for your TV. You're throwing away a lot of information by going interlaced, and the vast majority of the content is only 720p (at best). I'm assuming this isn't related to NXE? I guess there could be a new HANA rev....hmm...

Now he mentions its got internal memory........this was reviewed by him on the 5th dec....I wonder if he has a jasper model.

He probably does. No guarantee without the other checks, but I've yet to hear a report of one that had internal memory, but wasn't a Jasper.

With regards to the "Value Bundle 2008 E" sticker and the "XGX-00019" label, it certainly seems pretty reliable so far. I haven't seen a Falcon yet that had that, but nobody seems to be talking much about the Falcons they've found. Also, I'm not sure if it's any help for Pros or Elites. I've yet to hear of a unique sticker for the Pro/Elite.

I posted somewhere earlier in here about the 360 situation here in Hoover, AL. Then I got caught up in all the findings when jasper showed up officially. Quick update as far as lot numbers go. Best Buy in Hoover has 0842x Elite and Pro consoles, arcades were non existant due to recent sales but a truck is coming in on tuesday so they should have a new shipment of consoles. I checked several elites and pros but all that I looked at were 14.2 amps on the console itself, so no jasper as far as I can tell but I could not look at all of them without tearing down the stack right there in the middle of the isle. Game Stop in vestavia had 0842x elites as well, no jaspers tho but I have a guy that works there that knows what to look for and is keeping me updated. He is as big a fan of jasper as everyone on here!!

Unfortunately I didn't get to go to Dayton this weekend, but I am definitely going next weekend (stupid snowy weather and college coursework). But I might hit up the closest Walmart this week just to see if they have any.

I would jump on the newegg sku but I am just not convinced that this would net me a jasper. It looks promising, but it just seems weird that they made a separate listing, and it might not mean anything.

I found 6-7 843X FDOU Arcade Jaspers at the Mason, OH BB today. The freshest Pro was 837X and they had an 844X Elite that was 14.2 Amps - that is the second one of those I have seen. They still had a couple 819 Pros stuck in the back of the pile - they are not rotating the stock very well.

I am holding out for a Pro Jasper, so I went to Target to see if they had any (the $40 gift card would be nice). They didn't have any in the case, but the kid at the electronics counter was cool and said he would check in the back. He came back with a cardboard box that had 2 Pros inside. I saw the EN/E at the end of the description on the sticker and got excited, but it turns out that they were both 837X and 14.2 Amp. Sucks that they are still getting older consoles.

Have we figured out the difference between the "EN" vs. the "EN/E"?

Someone on AVForums has posted that Amazon UK may be shipping Jasper,but like the poster says who's willing to take the chance and order one.I may be the man for the job.

I am probably going to get an Elite. I know they are likely still in older lots yet, but I can wait until I find one. So if you go there, if you want to check all three models, I kind of want to know in general if Jaspers exist in the area. Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it.

I am also going to hit up the Targets, as Jaspers are more common there in Pros and Elites. Taking a look at the store availability on Target's site, every singe store is either, Out of Stock or Limited Availability. Which bodes good for getting in fresh stock! Especially that $40 gift card with pro or elite purchase this week.

Also, does anyone know when Targets get in new shipments each week?

I just picked up an arcade last night from Best Buy in Silverdale, WA. I was there Saturday and they had only 6 left. I stopped by last night after work and they got a replenishment shipment. They had lot 845X all in that lot that they had on the shelf (30ish) were Jaspers (12.1A).

I haven't setup my system yet to see if it has the internal memory. But everything else on the box looked as the pictures (xrx-00019 and Bundle E).

Here are the specs:

Team: FDOU
Mfg Date: 2008-11-05
Console labeled: 12.1 A


Edit: I should add the had a Hundred or so Elites (all July Builds). About 50 or So Pro's all but 3-4 are Lot 837. They did have 3-4 that Were lot 840x. None had the "Bundle E" sticker, and all were 14.2A.

Well I have just visited my local Tesco, and they had about 10 arcades on the shop floor.......I had a look at every one of them all 0827 and one with 0743!!!!

I am sooooo dissapointed..

Well, we're seeing a major roll out on the Arcade and Pro Jaspers..........that's good to hear.

Who's going to be the lucky gamer to get the 1st Elite Jasper??? I'm actually suprised that the first two confirmed Jaspers came out of Michigan. I would have guessed the west coast would have seen the Jasper 1st since it seems like my area (Ohio) was always 2 weeks behind the west coast in lot #'s.....

Congrats to everybody on their big score.....and good luck to our UK gaming friends. It won't be long now if Germany and other places are starting to get Jaspers.

I'm hoping to have my Pro Jasper undressed tonight and get some pics.....it's gonna be a late night. :shocked:

Hi,

Well, time was on my side I guess... I found Arcade Jaspers at both the local Best Buy in Boynton Beach and the Target (441 & Lantana Rd); altho the target only had the one arcade I bought, there were several Arcades at the Best Buy of which I also bought one not knowing that the Target would also have one.

The system I am using now has the 14.2A power brick, but the System unit is clearly marked as 12.1A 0842X Team FDOU. When I turned it on initially it was waaay quieter than I remember my older one (was RRoD from a friend that I had messed with too much then gave up).

I must also give some attention to the UPC product number on this box, that being XGX-00019. I took notice of the non-Jasper and it was quite different. While I was at it, I educated the Target person about what I was looking for, and why I was looking for it. She seemed appreciative for the heads up, tho maybe she was just being friendly.

I also saw somebody sellign "Jasper" unit on Ebay, but at a premium and who knows if it really is a Jasper until you unbox it....

After having run the new box for a couple hours, I can say it is much cooler than the old one was; tho it is a little warm, certainly not HOT like the old one would get.

They had two more Jasper arcades there, all ADUE 0839. Pro, Elites and Pro Bundles (Bond, Lara) were all labeled 14.2 A. with lots at or older than 0838

UPDATE From Denver:

As I posted yesterday, I visited 2 Best Buy's yesterday in Denver. I'm looking for a PRO and, maybe, an Elite. As reported, the highest Lot number I found was 841x. however, today I found Elites at 2 BBs that had:

Lot# 842X
M. Date: 10-22-08
Team: CSON/FDOU.

Without opening the box and checking the power, how can I tell if this could be possibly be a Japser??

I think the Lot number and M. Date is on the "bubble" on Jaspers...right?

I was really hoping to find a PRO but if I can't, I guess I'll pick up the Elite.

Also, Circuit City sucks. I visited 2 of them and both did NOT have the out on the floor but rather in the back. When I asked one rep if I could check out their boxes, he only brought one Elite out and said that was all they had. What BS.

By the way, I found a few Arcades that had Lot# 845X.

Hi AppleRedX,

are you sure that the Lot No. is lower than Lot on Xbox, I have never seen this and it does not make any sense. What do the others mean?

I checked today MediaMarkt Heppenheim (Germany) once more:

- 1 Elite Bundle (KungFu Panda...) with old 83x lot, team FDOU
- about 15 Pros all 838 (no X), team FDOU
- 5 Tomb Raider Pro Bundles Lot 84x but team ADUE and lot on consoles were 830
- no Arcades

I also checked AV Markt Bensheim:
- 2 Arcades with Sega Superstar Tennis both lot 844 team ADUE, on console itself 840
- 4 Tomb Raider Pro Bundles also team ADUE and no Jaspers

The hunt in Germany continues! :-|
I recognized that the Sega Superstar Tennis Arcade Bundles all have product code Q2A-00019 which seems similiar to Americas XGX-00019. XGX-00019 seems to be not available in Germany.
On the two 2 Arcades with lot 844 team ADUE sticker the old Bundle text was printed NOT the "...Value System Bundle..." sticker.

Hope I could give you all some information. I am curious when the first Jasper sightings will be in Germany. Time is running, like to have an 360 before Christmas...

Went into my local PC World here in UK, the 360 boxes are on display -- cheers -- although they appear to be trying to sell PS3 harder with more marketing materials and promotions -- jeers.

Arcades were 0831 batch, Pro were repacks 0843 but not ADUE team, the other lot of repackagers. 0831, a long way from Jasper in PC World.

Yes, I'm sure. Was wondering about that too ... but as ADUE is a repackaging team maybe they had some empty Arcade Bundle Boxes left which had to be filled with newer Xbox360 units.

Maybe you should take a ride to Giessen, isn't that far away from the Markets you checked.

The Jasper makes much lesser noise than my two launch boxes (one died two weeks ago with RROD & E74) and I already installed the NXE ... 128 MB gone from the internal memory.

Im really considering ordering an arcade from Amazon uk....they must be shipping more 360's than anyone in the uk, and have a good chance of getting a jasper.....

A heads up for those of you thinking about ordering from Dell. I ordered two arcades last week and just got them today. One of them is a lot 842x jasper, but the other one is a lot 840 falcon. They both came from Dallas. If you want a guaranteed jasper, you'll probably have to wait another week or two.
